Thank you very much. My dad is old school, he is 73 and does everything by trial and error especially for us girls. And if someone else can do it he will figure it out too. Lol. He knows a lot but my car had to have this problem now. I’m like wait!!!! let me see if I can find it on RUclips. He was like, “oh wow. I didn’t know about those lines.” Yeah me neither. Mine are more faint but they were there. I have a Buick rondezvous 2006 and it worked the same, sure enough, we fixed it!!! Thank you very much for sharing and teaching us something new. It was pretty quick and didn’t cost us a dime just time, adding to knowledge. Thanks. :)
Thank you so much for making this video. Ford put my wiper arms on wrong after a recent service and they would stop right in front of my line of site. This is exactly what I needed to fix it myself!
Thanks for this helpful video. I needed to adjust the wipers on my elderly Fiat Camper here in England and you showed just how to fix it. Great video. Pete
Just done this on my 2013 Ford Escape. Very helpful, thanks !!! Only difference between the Escape and the Fusion shown here is that the alignment marks on the glass are at the pivot end of the wiper blade, on the Fusion shown here they are at the furthest away end of the wiper blade.
Hey Nick. Pro tip here: Turn the ignition on before aligning the blades. With ignition on it automatically puts the motors in their park position then you can install the arms where they go
@ptrck6 is this for all cars or just the car model in this video? You say to turn the ignition on to put motors in park position but aren’t the motors in park position when the car is off? Thxs in advance
I had to remove the arms on my mum's van a few months ago in order to fix something and this was exactly what I did. Now I want to adjust my wiper arms because they park too far under the hood, and all I could find online was talking about re-aligning the motor?? Except for this video, which says to me that my first thought was correct, just do it the same as I did before. Thanks.
Thanks! Done with Focus 2014. Was really annoying when after washing the windshield the wipers are left missaligned and the passenger-side one starts to go over the pilot one. Had to repair them two times.
This was exactly what I needed. Worked great on my BMW X3. Was a little tricky getting the arm off. I figure a gear puller would work. But I managed to get a clamp on it and pull it up.
I realized I had to do rhis. Got windshield replaced. I noticed that with new wipers the return swipe was leaving a dry area but not on the up swipe. I wo Derek if the blade was going too far off track. I moved it only like 1/2" and no more missed areas. I clean windows so I know something is causing the blade to bridge. . Too far towards the edge of the windshield makes the blade skip that area until it straightens itself out, about half way back down.
I'm working on a Chevy Venture van 2004 the driver side wiper arm passes over the a-pillar of the windshield. I have no more adjustment they are in the parked position. What should I look for next
Steve Davis are they align up correctly. Are you able to send me a picture of how it look I've had to work on those van and the wiper on them. Message me on Nick the car guy on facebook picture will show Nick the car guy. You might need a new wiper arm(the wiper arm might be stripped or bent) might need a new wiper transmission. Or a wiper motor crank arm
Toyota tundra have that problem where the passenger wiper is too low and hitting the hood I've also seen where the driver side wiper goes off the windsheild
Very helpful. One of my wipers failed to return to its default "parking" position. I forgot to clear the heavy snow on the windscreen before starting the car while the wipers were set on auto mode. I heard a clicking sound when the wipers started moving and pushing the snow on the windscreen. Later I noticed the wiper parked slightly too high. Will try this method myself. Hope it will work.
@@teekayteekay9303 I haven't tried this. But I managed to get my wiper right by doing the following: turn on the wipers and push the dislocated left wiper agaisnt the direction of its movement, then it returns to its correct default parking position. 😀
What vehicle you have? I know the escape and focus you have to recalibrate the wipers. The fusion if you take your wiper arms off befor you put it back on turn the wipers on then off to reset the motor but leave the car still on when you put the wiper arms back on
@@lazarkool5376 your wiper arm could be stripped out. Also these wiper motors are separate Motors ones is the driver side and the other is a passenger they belt run on two separate Motors they will have a little play in them so it doesn't put stress on the motor
@@Nickthecarguy hi thanks for getting back to me turned out the second hand linkage one of the mounts as bent, stopping it from fully rotating I've removed it and fitted the old one. Thanks for the reply
I'm not sure how this could've busted your window no matter how bad you were to f**k this process up... just confused by this. You might as well say that after completing this your brakes are now squeaking because of it

Woooow!!! That easy!!! The guy quoted me 900$ and said it would take him half a day
I will do it for $5000 and will only take 2 weeks

Thank you my man! I had a wtf moment when this happened to my wipers.
My wipers hit hard when on its way down. This helped me out thank you

Steve Davis yes you can email a video of it to me my email is Nickours21@yahoo.com
I'm trying this this weekend as my wipers hit each other during use today.
If it needs to be adjusted or fixed, it must be a Ford!!
Toyota tundra have that problem where the passenger wiper is too low and hitting the hood I've also seen where the driver side wiper goes off the windsheild
Just dont buy a Ford next time 😂
Will this work if my right wipers can’t correctly clean the windshield ? I’ve a Mazda 3 2009
What do you mean? Does it not wipe far enough or not cleaning good?
Nick the car guy not cleaning good
@@Nickthecarguy you mean if i have changed my wiper blades?? because last time i changed them it was 6 months ago..
Nick the car guy it could be a pressure issue on the windows. Aslo I’ve changed the wiper motor 1 months ago

Yea if you replace the wiper arm you should be fine

Sorry, my 93 mustang wipers are working properly but not in my 06 accord.
I can't seem to get the wiper blade off.
There are two tabs you have to push together (push inwards ) then pull outwards away from the wiper arm. I can make a video on it if you want
same here
