    My only thing to add is to turn the key on, or push the button on push-start models, and with the wipers OFF first. This will secure the motor shaft in its stationary position for replacement of the arms. I've done this method myself on my 2015 Escape. GREAT videos you produce on the Escape.

      More info: just undo the front door of the battery box, remove top bracket and cables, and very strugglingly tip it upright and pull it out. (It’s heavy that’s why it feels like it won’t come out) Rubber gloves helps

    Thanks so much. My wipers were hitting the frame of the car, this worked perfect on my 2017 escape. One note was hard to get the arms off had to spray with WD40 let soak a bit then still had to pull hard. Found the motor post a bit corrosion. Cleaned with mini wire brush and some WD40.

    Thanks for posting this. We had some extended work done on our Escape and when we got it back we thought all was well. Have not used the wipers until today and sure enough there was a problem. Not only was there a misalignment, but they had put the arms on the wrong side. Also had to do a BMS reset since they had taken the battery off several times. I'm not a mechanic at all so videos like this really saved me. Thank you.

      Same issue here. Just got my car back from mechanic and the windshield wipers now cross each other as they come back to resting, so they are no longer parallel, but crisscross while resting.

    • @alanjm1234
      @alanjm1234 7 месяцев назад

      You should reset the BMS when you fit a new battery. If you just disconnected then reconnected the same battery, a BMS reset isn't needed.

    Pro tip. If you keep the ignition to key one engine off. It locks the motors. So there is no chance to mess up the motor rest position. Then it makes it less sensitive once you reset home position

    Thank you! The alignment marks on my 2016 Escape are black, without knowing what to look for I would have never noticed the start position marks. I recently did a tune-up and had them way off.

      Hey Ahmed! Thanks for checking out the video :) hopefully these are helpful to people trying to do the alignment- it's not hard, just the correct order of events is all :) Hope all is well on your end, sir.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! This worked exactly as described on the first try -- not always the case when I try to fix a car issue (haha).

    Cheers for this, I had my windscreen replaced a couple of months ago, the wipers were never right and the rain sensor was all over the place. Done this they now clean to the edge and the anomalies I was having aitht the rain sensor have sorted it self out.
