Im in edmonton alberta and it was -40 with arctic winds. It was my second day today delivering.. I got off around 6:00pm cause there was an alert that it was to cold for us to be outside
This whole video was awful. If you have 17 or more bags you always stack. Don't use the shelves at all. You might be able to use the passenger side shelves for overflow but if not then it's still good. Just put your last overflow in fist & make your way up to the sliding door. It's all about planning your day out right when you sign into flex & see how many bags & overflow you are going to have.
The driver looks and sounds like he knows what he’s doing and knows what works for him. Respectfully I appreciate your (narrators) opinion but I think this guys got it.
The frustrating part of this is when the overflow falls everywhere when you're driving. Maybe Amazon can create a strap inside the vans to prevent them from falling.
I scan all totes at the staging location before loading the van. Overflow I just scan at the van after making sure it belongs to me at the staging location.
I guess we all have a different way of loading. 317 bag should have been unpacked & put on shelf and first bag dumped and put up front. Thanks for sharing - nice to see other ideas.
Pro tip: you can fit 2 more bags on the shelf if you flip the double stacked bags 90 degrees (so they are still on their side but the long way is facing out). This also has the benefit of falling less often (make sure the bottom and top rows are facing alternating directions). That will put 12 on the shelf and and 7 below the shelf.
@@diegoholguin8019 pause the video at about :31 ~ take the tote straight from the cart, as it lays, and w/out turning it, put it on the top shelf...this we'll call 'bag 1'... pull "bag 2" from the cart, set it down on the floor and then rotate it 90 degrees..now put bag 2 ON TOP of "bag 1"...take the next tote, which we'll call "bag 3"...stand it up so the opening is facing OUT w/the 'tall side up'...and but that on the floor under 'bag 1/bag 2'... TADA! There's your visual! :-)
Those overflow...times I was in the back or middle/back on the lot, barely had time to organize those until I started showing up early, doing the pre-trip before even clocking in and just pulling the van to the front prior to driving to the lot.
I wouldn’t even use the shelves with that many totes. And would stack my totes flat. In order from 2,3,4 on down and have my first tote by the van door to sort on my first stop. Boxes in the tote and envelope up front sorted. That’s just my way it feels faster for me. I’ve tried multiple way thats just the way I feel comfortable
Oh he’s scanning every tote as he loads. We don’t have to do that anymore at our DSP (if not all across the country). They just have us scan the cart they came on now and we’re done with that part (makes it so much faster). But the Amazon Associates still be rushing us as we load (which pisses me off every time).
Thankfully my station loads the bags in order from left to right so I can just load out and hit the blue mile and deliver those smiles I seriously love my job and can’t see myself working at any other job
Because the panel where the zipper is located is made out of a softer material and collapses easily, by putting it against the wall of the van, it gives extra support so you can place another back on top of it!
They might be in some sort of order in the tote, but usually lay them out on the shelf by street or sort sticker. Some of those totes have 30 packages jammed into them, so easier to find if we spread them out.
I am hoping that I will be a new Amazon Flex driver by next week here in Arkansas. I am wondering how the Amazon vans are, when it comes to, if they are leased out to the driver, to where the driver has to have a certain amount taken out of their paycheck, if they don't want to drive their own car for the wear and tear on it?
Flex drivers drive their own vehicles. There is no option to drive a leased van here by Amazon. Vans are rented strictly by the logistics company. Amazon only uses a 3rd party company to hire drivers to deliver. Amazon does not have any of their own direct hire delivery driver employees. If you see vans loading during Flex pick up times it’s either a driver running behind and they are off to the side and or the van the Flex driver is using is their personal van they personally use. Hope this helps answer your question 😊
Exactly that's what I do had 19 bags and 38 overflow I put my abc on shelf and the rest at bottom cause you ain't getting them for a while and I put the last bag near sliding door to put all my bags to unload on shelf so u don't have to bend over and they all go in my front seat I got the best set up that I've seen
Interesting stacking method, but I think you would damage the assorted packages in the amazon bags. A lot of bags are packed really tight and wouldn't fair well with the manhandling this seems take.
you really can't tbh..... Amazon probably handles them with more care than most delivery carriers..... FedEx UPS and post office are just as bad maybe even worse lol I know because I've worked at FedEx and I've seen a lot of boxes from UPS smashed or damaged..... packages are always getting thrown it's inevitable 😂 but I totally understand where you are coming from as well
I will never understand why y’all use those shelves more than 12 bags I’m putting up those back shelves and stacking 3 high, if you stack them weight appropriate you won’t have to deal with them falling over

Thanks so much been watching these all day and taking notes these were the best by far

Interesting...first time seeing the x2 stack on the top shelf. I may give this a try one day.
Right!? I didn’t think of that.
I scan all totes at the staging location before loading the van. Overflow I just scan at the van after making sure it belongs to me at the staging location.
I might start doing that.

"loads first bag in"
yard marshall with megaphone "alright guys you have 5 minutes to load up!"
basically how it is during loadout for me
Same lol
Facts... loading a van with 4 carts 50+ overflow and 22 bags not enough time...
Lol damn how long does it take u to pull ur carts?! 🤣
@@nunyabinness3574 just depends where the van is located in the warehouse honestly
Like bruh calm down on the megaphone before I take the batteries out the damn thing.

@@BobbyFocus2008is FedEx better ?
@@kinggee6299I recently quit FedEx Ground and went to Amazon and like it there better
Are you still with fedex?
I use to consolidate multiple bags into 1 bag. Makes saves space for overflow.
Bro I had to do that today. 400+ packages
I get almost 300 and van is packed. I can't imagine 400
That guy talking would have to get tf on somewhere that's annoying
I wonder how long did the person that develop this loading system delivered packages him/herself??
Bonita Vista High School can you deliver in the morning at bus
My stacks kept falling over. Face em the other way.. good info
I don’t understand why he told him to load zipper against the wall. He’s now got to fight and turn it around. Zipper side out always.
Because the panel where the zipper is located is made out of a softer material and collapses easily, by putting it against the wall of the van, it gives extra support so you can place another back on top of it!
Some like the zipper out for access, others stack them and that side collapses and bags fall off the shelf.
That’s dumb zipper side than you can easily flip it down and pull out instead of slide out pull up slide in
And do you then sort the packes/envelopes in order thats in the totes after so many stops or are they already in order in the totes?
They might be in some sort of order in the tote, but usually lay them out on the shelf by street or sort sticker. Some of those totes have 30 packages jammed into them, so easier to find if we spread them out.

If you stack three it’s better with the shelves up

I see these bags falling as soon as the driver makes a left turn or hits a speed bump , it def dosent have to be that high

After the bus comes deliberate at Bonita Vista High School main office
But how does he not forget where to deliver or what bag those two little items were in
The delivery app tells you what color bag and number it’s from as well as what packaged you’re looking for, either if it’s a bag, envelope or package
I aint never had a bag with 2 items lmao
180-190 stops on average with 250+ packages always
We scan the carts.. Not bags individually.. Also we only have like 10 min.
Yeah at my dsp we scan the carts but we have 20 mins to load
Is there’s a code that your supposed to look for on the floor?
Yes to tell you where your bags are at
What if ur bags are in order from top to bottom cart?
We do this way different
Good and organised system but my back hurts watching this. I love how he handles the packages with... "care" smh

Pulling bags with one hand? An injury waiting to happen…
I want to see this done when your carts aren't ready until you have five minutes left...
I feel like he did this shit bass actwards. Just sayin!
😂
He did. The worst setup and the dude talking to him was annoying as fuck haha.
You should load from behind the driver seat so forward to back the same way makes it way easier. Just saying
Never seen anyone struggle so much loading out smh why he chose to stack the bags like that idk smh
Yes deliberate Wednesday morning bonita Visa High School of delivery I order on Amazon a bouncy house blower
