Delivery is being organized , did a gig during covid with 2 food delivery restuarants , avg $150 a day including tips , gas was cheap during the pandemic so $13 a day was common . Having no drinks and packages not in an open bag is your friend. We also would drop and pic take , the customer would follow on an app , seeing us on our way to their door .
I appreciate seeing this type of vid. I live in a near downtown suburb on a local area major street. All major delivery services (including semis) go past my house. I prefer NO doorbell ring. Alexa tells me when a package has been delivered by Amazon.
That's so cool that you took the time to make a video like this. I'm sure that it's helped many a peoples in how to start with amazon haha. hope you're doing well :)
Hey Daniel, it’s so good to hear from you! :) It was honestly a really fun video to make. 😁 this was before things got really crazy and they put the cameras in the vans and all that junk lol (I can’t remember if you were still there for that?). My overflow I just throw it in, my bags I organize in sequential order, then before I get to my first stop I pull over and organize my first 10 to 15 stops and that 2ay I just grab n go, drop off and take photo. I also scan in my van, not at door.
The default should be to not ring the doorbell unless requested. There are many reasons like doorbells are upsetting to pets, might wake babies, etc. I dont do amazon, but the delivery i do, my ratings went up when i stopped doing things unless requested.
this was helpful. I live in north Broomfield and have been looking at being a driver from the Thornton location. I saw Loveland and Ft Lupton in the beginning hahah
Hey Ft. Lupton! I’m an Amazon delivery driver in Colorado too! I mainly work in the Boulder area, sometimes in the mountains behind Boulder so I understand your struggle on those dirt roads cuz these vans suck!
Thank you for sharing this great video it was so helpful. I have a interview with a DSP this Friday and I am so excited but also a little nervous but I'm sure every one is when they first start driving Amazon. Thank you again and happy new year...
I don’t know if you’re still driving, but to prevent any hits on Ementor, I shut the Ementor phone off completely, after I sign in. That’s the only way I keep a perfect 850 score. I’d check with your DSP or Leads before doing this though.
Thanks. I’m not driving anymore. But we used tablets for the ementor to track our driving and I also did this before there were cameras in the vans. I don’t know if you’re actually supposed to turn your phone off when using ementor cause I don’t know if that will actually track it the way it’s supposed to. So I would ask your DSP if your supposed to do that. Maybe you already did. Haha but anyways, thanks for the view and comment :)
Why aren’t you anymore? Is it taxing on your body? I live in Southern California and they’re always hiring drivers, they pay very good so I wonder why people quit
Thanks for share this video, I have an interview on Wednesday. I'm actually doing amazon flex, but with gas prices I decided to applied for dsp driver.
Thank you for your video. I been praying about becoming a amazon delivery driver. You seem very happy and organized. I believe I could do this also. Bless you
Ive worked at Amazon before and I liked it because of the repetition. I've never worked as an Amazon delivery driver. They sent me an email to do an interview with them, which I thought was strange because the warehouse requires no interviews. You just have to pick a time slot. How are the interviews like for the delivery position?
@@twenty1sixer216 I'm quitting already after 2 days. I never got the ride along I was told I would have. Threw me out solo for a full route of 168 stops, no rescue. I was still delivering packages at 10:30pm. Dispatch went home before I was finished at 11:30pm. Horrible experience.

My instructions are like that. I've had delivery drivers just throw stuff on our showroom floor at my work place (I work at a Chevy Dealership), one driver left the boxes in a parking space outside in the rain... And I have the instructions saying to "Take all packages to the Parts Counter just inside the Service Drop off tunnel, We have a cart for you to use if needed." I now buy most of our stuff from Staples and they deliver next day, the dude may be dressed like a bum, but he read and followed the instructions.

How is the interview for this? I’m supposed to go in tomorrow to Amazon for an interview for delivery driver. And how hard is the job when you first start? I’m nervous that I’m going to screw up from being confused lol. I’ve been watching videos like this on RUclips for the last few days and your video is the best so far.
First 2-3 weeks: "I want to do what the notes say so the customer can be happy" 1 year as a driver: " lol let me see how close I can yeet this package to the front door from the van"

Incidentally, where are you located when delivering? Interesting seeing all the snow there. I actually live in Melbourne Australia. Wishing you the very best. Robert.
Haha it was only 111 because it was so spread out in the country. Plus I did a rescue afterward as well. Normal routes for me would be 180+ (most stops I ever did in a day was 269). :) thanks for the comment!

@@KPNation2 thanks. Yeah they have training online and then 1 day with a person that makes sure your able to drive the van but training is done mostly virtually they said and after watching your video I have a whole lot better knowledge so I appreciate it!!
i used to work at amazon. hated the country just cause the dogs. got attacked by a bull mastiff my leg healed quite well but damn i’ll never forget that when he locked into my calf and i was screaming bloody murder. dude got him off with his shock collar. i love dogs too imma be honest i don’t follow any of the training amazon does and i worked there for 2 years and would be first to get back to the lot often. honestly take all that training from amazon and throw it out the window. obviously if it works for you keep doing it. in terms of the totes it’ll go by order on the phone so it’ll have the last digits for the totes and that’s how you’ll go in order. they could be disorganized on the. cart but go by the device and the orders of the codes. then take i like to do what i call a train method and i take each tote and push it to the back and keep doing that until i have a train out of my van and then i just take ‘em up one by one inside the van and load it all up together. in terms of boxes i didn’t even bother organizing those except by size. that’s all you really need. and what i make sure too is all the labels are facing up so that way i can just turn around and look without having to move anything i put the boxes on top of eachother to where all the labels are still visible not upside down or facing a wall so i can just look and only move and grab what i need to. i put small boxes towards the front and big boxes towards the back. also take all that stuff in your tote…and dump it all into the front passenger seat. envelopes go in the middle. large boxes on floor. small boxes on seat. so that way you can just stay in your seat turn and look for a name and get out. no getting up and searching through a tote cause it’ll tell you what to look for. small box. big box. envelope. idk why amazon teaches us to organize a certain way. i’ve always just tossed it in and it’s way faster that way. you waste so much time organizing by numbers or whatever their method is now. and with peak just put all the totes up against the door make sure the tote you’re gonna do first is the one stacked on top and in the middle so you can just turn around and grab what you need. then you can collapse the tote and walk through to get a small box or go to the back where the big boxes are and then you can go from there so you’re not having to climb over stuff.
@@isabellamaya2412 I’m glad you found something that worked for you! I definitely found a way to organize everything that worked great for me! And from then on, I was hesitant around dogs. 🥹 thanks for watching and commenting! 😁
What do you do if the box is too heavy to carry to someone’s door? Does that happen? Do u have a dolly? I’m a breast cancer survivor and can have trouble lifting very heavy things.. would they still let me drive? How heavy are the bags you have to lift into your van? Have you ever not been able to get one in or do you just unpack it and put bag in van then throw packages back in?.. I’m afraid I won’t be able to life the filled bags in the vans.. any suggestions? Also do your vans have the cameras in them now that record everything?
The heaviest package is no more than 50 lbs. So it’s never been a problem for me. Some people have multiple heavy packages they ordered, and I’d have to take a few trips. Most of the vans have a dolly but not all of them. You could definitely request to be in a van that has a dolly though. :) the bags you have to lift into the van can be pretty heavy! But you wouldn’t be able to unpack it and then repack it, because we only have 15 minutes to load our van. Yes, we just recently got cameras put in. They are a pain but oh well. 🤷🏼♀️
I work for delivery service in Serbia, in some way sam job, but we have little complicated cause we have packages with payment on delivery most time and we must to call and delivery to the person, and forbidden to left packages anywhere.
Question, how early can you start your route ? And also are you allowed to use AirPods while driving for example have one airpod in playing a podcast while delivering to make time go by faster ?
All dsp’s start at different times. So, it just depends on your stations start times and stuff. My DSP loads around 10:45am, so you’re starting your first delivery between 11-11:30am most likely, since all of our routes aren’t too far away. But that also could depend on how far you have to drive to get to the area you will be delivering because some DSP’s have to drive farther. As far as airpods, yes you should be able to do that. I did that with some Bluetooth headphones I have, just one piece in. As long as it’s not slowing you down, you should be good (which if you were like me, it would actually help me get in the groove and move faster. Haha).
@@Smile-uwokeup-2day any combination of Amazon DSP delivery driver associate. If you search something like that you should find what you are looking for :)
It would depend on the day, and where I was delivering. I’d start my first delivery sometime between 10:45am and 11:30am probably and make my last delivery somewhere between 5:30pm and 8:00pm generally, with of course exceptions to that every once in a while. :)
No doorbell, maybe knock. I assume everyone has a baby napping. I only worked 2 shifts and its kinda weird how out of 400 deliveries only maybe 5 actually come out to acknowledge me. Mind you it is now 40f in Winnipeg. But yeah so different from when I delivered food from 2015-2019. I took me about 8 hours to deliver 90-97 stops so far.
Thanks for watching! I don’t believe it is completely waterproof; it’s not super warm, but if I wore layers underneath I was fine. I was rewarded with my jacket during the peak season (Christmas time) a couple years ago for being a good driver and always helping other people out and stuff. But not everyone just gets one like that…they did have them available for anyone to buy, though if they wanted one. :)

Throw the phone in airplane mode or turn off Bluetooth and it should allow you to deliver it. Just make sure you know without a doubt you’re at the right place and make sure to turn Bluetooth back on when you’re done (or airplane mode off). :)
hi karissa, i also started working with amazon DSP about couple months ago. My routes have mostly been countryside and some suburban, and once i got to standard routes, it was a bit of struggle to finish them before it got dark. For the countryside houses with open gates, do you often drive into their driveways to deliver to front? and how do you squeeze in a break time to eat and such? I haven't really taken a break during my shifts and only did so for short time to stop at a gas station on the way to use restroom and such.
Oh nice! Yeah, depending on when it gets dark and how big the route is it can be hard to finish before then. But you can get a nice head lamp that will really help you out when you do have to deliver in the dark :) It depends on how the driveway is. If it is really long, yes I will definitely pull into it! Even if it isn’t that long, as long as their is space enough to turn around, I will pull into it to deliver to the front door unless the customer notes says otherwise. :) In regards to taking a lunch, that’s kind of up to you. Everyone is different. I like waiting until the end of my route to take my lunch anyways (besides a couple of pit stops through out like you mentioned). I’ll usually snack as I’m delivering or even eat food I brought with me as I continue on my route. But if you feel like you need to take a break, you should definitely do so! :) You should be able to finish your route even with a lunch break in there. Speed and efficiency will come with time-keep at it!
@@KPNation2 thanks for your tip! yes my dispatch told me to use the driveway for the countryside houses unless customer says to leave it at the gate, if the gate is closed, or if it's muddy. Tbh i think that using the driveways for those types of houses are often faster than just running to and back. I often just ate on the way to my first route since it's often about good 20-30 min drive to there from the warehouse. Yes i always make sure to bring plenty of snacks and waters. I'll consider taking lunch break again once i get more hang out getting faster with standard routes. To get faster, i put packages in the center aisle and passenger seat, so i can just grab and go instead of going to the back and getting out through sliding on a lot of stops. Another thing, my DSP does not want us out when it gets dark, and I'm not fan of delivering in the nighttime either bc of lack of lighting on country routes. I'll want to use one of those flashlight that goes on my head next time i have to deliver in the dark for sure. :)
Iam a driver my self in ohio last Wed I had 320 packages 191 stops lol its gets crazy at times cheers be safe on the road at my dsp they want us to do 20 stops a hr the most I have ever finished ahead was 40stops but are routs are not as spread out as much as yours is
Yeah, not all routes are spread out like the old one I had in the video. We also get big routes with those numbers. But I don’t mind them as long as they are just neighborhood stops. :) thanks for the comment!
I have a learning disability and it’s hard for me to read I was in special ed growing up could you answer some questions on like is it hard to do for someone that might not be able to read very well
Yes about being upset about delivery and writing it in caps I had to do the same i had the same problem. the delivery person will not follow them. How you use the bathroom???
No, the app doesn't tell you which bags to take. My dsp dispatch will usually tell me how many bags to take or just say to take what I feel comfortable with. So I'll usually check with the driver and see how much they have left, and then decide. But you usually will take their last bags (end of the route) which yes, the app will tell you. Also, no they are not notified that you are arriving. :) Thanks for the questions!
If you put the phone into airplane mode and then turn Bluetooth back on, it should allow you to make the delivery even if the pin is in the wrong location. Only do this though if you know for sure you are at the right delivery location, and make sure to turn airplane mode back off once you are done! :) I hope this helps, let me know if it works. ☺️

From my understanding it starts from the lowest number to the highest if I’m correct. Also must packages have the same letters and numbers but with varying in colors which I kinda confusing. Thanks for your time and have wonderful day! 😊
you explained the route so well, i order from Amazon all the time
I've watched a couple of these types of videos and I must say, yours is among my favorites! Your personality is similar to mine and the others that I've watched, they are either too silly or get off track of the topic at hand. I go for my interview tomorrow, so, wish me luck! :)
Aw thanks so much! I appreciate your support :) and good luck! You will do great ☺️
Looks good!

Idk if its the same everywhere but ever since COVID became a thing amazon has told do not ring the doorbell when delivering
Anyways, I really made the video mainly for my friends and family so they could see what I do, and it ended up getting so many views likes and comments! 😂 but I’m glad it’s helped some people for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I am doing really great, thank you! I just heard you’re working for FedEx? That’s super cool, hope you are enjoying it and doing well. You should come visit sometime :)
Nice job! You got it a fan from Brazil! It's nice to see a different vision of the life from yours.
Thank you!! Appreciate your support :)
Only 15 minutes to load also so it just gets thrown in and I try to organize first few stops of overflow but there’s so much lol
Thanks for watching! :)
Hey Ft.
Ayeee good luck! No problem, thanks for the view, comment and support. It’s appreciated… happy new year to you too! :)
Our DSP was no interview was just do background checks and then I started

THATS MY SONG!!!! That will be on my Playlist today
Ive worked at Amazon before and I liked it because of the repetition. I've never worked as an Amazon delivery driver. They sent me an email to do an interview with them, which I thought was strange because the warehouse requires no interviews. You just have to pick a time slot. How are the interviews like for the delivery position?

I've never actually had a job with small stops like this. Just delivered goods at gas stations but definitely both are a lot of work

My instructions are like that. I've had delivery drivers just throw stuff on our showroom floor at my work place (I work at a Chevy Dealership), one driver left the boxes in a parking space outside in the rain... And I have the instructions saying to "Take all packages to the Parts Counter just inside the Service Drop off tunnel, We have a cart for you to use if needed."

It all depended on the route, and the day. It varied quite a bit. But generally anywhere between 150-200 stops :)
My dsp isn’t knocking or ringing doorbell due to covid, im in Oregon. I get a sheet before staging that shows order of overflow, I generally get 30-60 overflow and 15-20 bags, it’s ridiculous.

i used to work at amazon. hated the country just cause the dogs. got attacked by a bull mastiff my leg healed quite well but damn i’ll never forget that when he locked into my calf and i was screaming bloody murder. dude got him off with his shock collar. i love dogs too
imma be honest i don’t follow any of the training amazon does and i worked there for 2 years and would be first to get back to the lot often. honestly
take all that training from amazon and throw it out the window.
obviously if it works for you keep doing it.
in terms of the totes it’ll go by order on the phone so it’ll have the last digits for the totes and that’s how you’ll go in order. they could be disorganized on the. cart but go by the device and the orders of the codes. then take i like to do what i call a train method and i take each tote and push it to the back and keep doing that until i have a train out of my van and then i just take ‘em up one by one inside the van and load it all up together.
in terms of boxes i didn’t even bother organizing those except by size. that’s all you really need. and what i make sure too is all the labels are facing up so that way i can just turn around and look without having to move anything i put the boxes on top of eachother to where all the labels are still visible not upside down or facing a wall so i can just look and only move and grab what i need to. i put small boxes towards the front and big boxes towards the back.
also take all that stuff in your tote…and dump it all into the front passenger seat.
envelopes go in the middle. large boxes on floor. small boxes on seat. so that way you can just stay in your seat turn and look for a name and get out. no getting up and searching through a tote cause it’ll tell you what to look for. small box. big box. envelope. idk why amazon teaches us to organize a certain way. i’ve always just tossed it in and it’s way faster that way. you waste so much time organizing by numbers or whatever their method is now. and with peak just put all the totes up against the door make sure the tote you’re gonna do first is the one stacked on top and in the middle so you can just turn around and grab what you need. then you can collapse the tote and walk through to get a small box or go to the back where the big boxes are and then you can go from there so you’re not having to climb over stuff.
@@isabellamaya2412 I’m glad you found something that worked for you! I definitely found a way to organize everything that worked great for me! I got pretty fast and efficient at it for sure, and enjoyed it.
I was also bit by a dog, not too bad, but it scared me for sure. And from then on, I was hesitant around dogs. 🥹 thanks for watching and commenting! 😁
I love delivering in the country!
I am going to start my training tomorrow. I am a bit worried about the exam at the end of the training. any advice?
I didn’t see your comment until now but I hope it went well!! :)
I work for delivery service in Serbia, in some way sam job, but we have little complicated cause we have packages with payment on delivery most time and we must to call and delivery to the person, and forbidden to left packages anywhere.
I appriciate the drivers that read the notes, I ask them to drop packages off inside the garage because thats where I work and that door is open.

If you search something like that you should find what you are looking for :)

hi karissa, i also started working with amazon DSP about couple months ago.
But you can get a nice head lamp that will really help you out when you do have to deliver in the dark :)
It depends on how the driveway is. If it is really long, yes I will definitely pull into it! Even if it isn’t that long, as long as their is space enough to turn around, I will pull into it to deliver to the front door unless the customer notes says otherwise. :)
In regards to taking a lunch, that’s kind of up to you.
You're really good.... They are lucky to have you....
Thanks!! :)
I was interested in doing this for the freedom to be alone & activity but when they said $17.00 2nd shift I had to head out lol. Thanks for what u do!

Yeah, it would probably be a bit of a challenge. But I think you could give it a try!! :)
Yes about being upset about delivery and writing it in caps I had to do the same i had the same problem. the delivery person will not follow them. How you use the bathroom???
I know… some people just don’t care no matter how hard we try. 🥺 I go to a gas station or grocery store nearby and use the restroom. lol
Im assuming the app tells you what totes/bags to take from the other driver, also do they get notified your arriving?
No, the app doesn't tell you which bags to take. My dsp dispatch will usually tell me how many bags to take or just say to take what I feel comfortable with. So I'll usually check with the driver and see how much they have left, and then decide. But you usually will take their last bags (end of the route) which yes, the app will tell you. Also, no they are not notified that you are arriving. :) Thanks for the questions!
How do you handle the outside of delivery area issue? That's been a pain in my first 2 shifts
