  • After the Titan Thickness Planer tear-down, we're finally putting it back together and seeing if it can run any better. At the same time we all learn together how the darn thing works!
The next video will be making the beds co-planer - spoiler alert, that one is a success!

This video didn’t turn out how I wanted it because I wanted to achieve more, but I figured seeing me have no idea may be comforting, and we learned a bunch so there you go
The next one (hopefully out tomorrow) with getting it co-planer is a win though, stay tuned!

Man, you literally saved me working on my own machine. I can't express how grateful I am that you've done this video

Great videos thank you. Particularly love your testing safety set up (broom handle), it's the kind of thing I do!

I’m trying to get better, but still pretty dodgy at times 😂 thanks!

That square insert at the end of the roller spindle should remove with opposite thread to roller direction and there should be enough thread to place a spacer washer. (apologies haven't watched the rest of the video before commenting).

This video has been what we "clueless tinkerer improvers" have been looking for.

Fun and games, take more photos or a video prior to disassembly lol. Sounds OK when it's turned on. Glad your getting it sorted. Tony

It’s back on now, but that happened after a sound proofing attempt 😂

Just a thought. Looking as everything seems out of line or warped that sounds like the machine’s been dropped from a height. Off a fork lift maybe?? 🤷🏻‍♂️

No idea, I think it’s probably just because it’s a budget product

These videos are really interesting - and I'm really enjoying your presentation - so thanks so much!
Quick question - did you manage to find any more out about the Infeed height adjusting locking handle/knob thing? Mine appears to be broken and I'm wondering if there's any need to actually replace it as it appears to do naff all...? I only picked up the Planer yesterday after having to return one bought on Friday because it just stopped for no reason I could identify. Definitely not lugging it back for the sake of a handle though.
Also, just a note that on the underside of the planer, there are a lot of vent holes, and I see you're not using the feet, so might be blocking that and cause overheating. Maybe not - but just thought I'd say.

Thanks James, no blocking of the vents thankfully.
I didn’t find out any more about the locking infeed, I think it’s probably one of the downfalls of a budget machine

I wrapped a cable tie round the switch so I can use it without the dust extractor bit

I did not. However once lubed and all together it seemed to pretty much sort itself out.
I choose not to delve any deeper and just took the win 😂
