I always believed auron is the wisest & smartest, the guy literally figured out how to get to dream zanarkand despite not knowing if it actually existed like jecht said it does, aside from that everytime auron states something he always seems to be on point & he's the only one in the party who knew the truth about everything.
Kimahri is underrated as a character. Seriously! Take him north, then go anti-clockwise, heading towards Rikku's grid. He should, like for like, have the same if not more strength than Auron, in addition to equal or higher HP, agility, accuracy, magic defense etc. Seriously, Kimahri hits hard in the early game. Then he gets Rikku's Steal and Use before she does and is much more robust than her. Then, take him on Wakka's grid to get good all-around stat boosts.

A few things do. The one you speak to first every time you have an opportunity, who Tidus revives more in battle and the answers to the questions you get asked sometimes (like telling Lulu in Guadosalam that she's more your type)
Tidus can also just attack someone in battle to make their "like-meter" drop. Or even better: Shatter them when they're turned to stone. And if you don't want Lulu in the two scenes (this one here and inside Guadosalam) you should not pray with Tidus when given the opportunity (Before leaving Besaid and inside Kilika Temple).

Considering that he's the Jack character, his build is what you need him to be. Really what matters in their overdrives and Kimahri got the short end of the stick with his Blue magic (why did they not turn them into standard spells and give him other overdrives, I have no clue). However, he certainly can outclass Auron with the right setup since he has decent accuracy and speed and his overdrives have great utility.
i remember these rides from when i beat this game a while back, i remember choosing to ride with auron because i considered auron to be one of the more influencial characters towards Tidus, this ride scene kinda dissapointed me because they wasted it talking about Rikku?? i thought they would talk about Yuna or Khimaris past or something
@TriaMaxwell simple. there is an invisible friendship variable for each(maybe only most, not sure) character. increase a characters friendship by healing and reviving them in combat mode and talking to them alot in world mode. decrease the friendship by hurting and killing them in battle. if you want to get someone different, you should have Tidus kill everyone but that person while letting the others kill the person you want and letting Tidus revive the person. Lulu has highest base friend.
There is more to it, however. Even if you get them to like you more than anyone else, there will be no scene with either Yuna or Wakka. Yuna because she had to follow Tromell alone as per Guado custom, and Wakka because he refused to ride the machina and wanted to be away from you guys. Regardless, Wakka will remain in your party once the scene ends and Yuna will only rejoin when you confront Seymour for the first time. Plus, I heard priorities go like this: Lulu, Rikku, Auron, Kimahri.
@Eamon It's whoever you have the highest affection level with. You can raise it with certain characters by talking to them first when the whole group is in an area or having Tidus heal them in battle. The only two who don't have a snowmobile scene are Wakka, because he walks, and Yuna, because she's with Tromell.
I think there's something like a "bond" score that you can't see anywhere. I guess if you're nice to Kimahri and ignore or be mean to the girls, you can get him.

there are points in the game that you have to speak to every member of the party... In those points just speak to Kimahri first... He won't answer... He just waves his head negatively or pushes you away but this is what you get eventually... :)

Party members get ''affection points'' 1) according to the answers you give throughout the game 2) when Tidus gives them potions during battle 3) when you get the chance to talk to party members in the field, the first person Tidus talks to will get affection points. I think there are also some different things, so I'd reccomend you to read ''affection mechanics'' on FF wikia.

Its something to do with who Tidus used the most Potions on or something, I always got Lulu to as she was the most fragile character and needed healing the most.
I got lulu and then I found out you get get rikku so I used tidus to kill lulu in battle and then I got to ride with rikku. I didnt know you could ride with auron or kimahri and i've played this game a hundred times lol
@liLLiPaDDy Not all true. yes its very difficult to make kimarhi strong INITIALLY. the problem is his grid is isolated and requires level spheres. However he is the most flexible and potentially strongest because of balanced stregnths. I usually let his path go into wakkas grid then he becomes very strong then into tidus' where he becomes absurdlty strong then to balance him ill go to lulus and then all the rest. Kimarhi is actually my strongest character the key is utilizing his potentials
His usage changes throughout the game as he goes from heavy-hitter to all-around balanced. He does start to suffer later in the game when all physical characters get steroid strength on their late sphere grids and he's just starting/in the middle of Wakka's, though. At this point he's more like Tidus. And of course he sucks in the endgame, but so does everyone else who isn't Tidus, Wakka, Rikku or situationally Yuna. I never used to use Kimahri in my playthroughs but now he's a staple.

hmm I may have seen this before but I mostly recall rikku and lulu. Lulu was once but I mostly got rikku
i only did the ride with Lulu too...nothing against her, but I like the scene much more with kimahri..^^

If you guard/potion/chat her a lot, so you can ride with rikku.
Lulu is the most common result and has the most important cutscene out of these.
