Students were asked to join these professors during their protest. Other majors like medicine and business were asked to join in solidarity. We asked one of our engineering professors if they were going to cancel classes and he literally laughed and said no.

Then I saw the "leader" (with hair in dreadlocks and load of bracelets etc) of the party arriving at the university driving a super new BMW where he got out and screamed at people for daring to get in the way of his vehicle. Also, the "We're hungry and thirsty, bring us food and drink," behavior is laughable. They barricaded themselves in the building, they should have thought of that BEFORE THEY STARTED their 'protest'. (Also-also, they have actual running water in the building.)

But what's worse is you will have people in the media who support this and will spin it to their way no matter what happens.
They need a simple "You made your bed, you lay in it" thinking. Start billing them for the mess they made, arrest people not enrolled in the schools for trespassing and fine students for disruptive behaviour. There is protesting and there is having a hissy fit and what they are doing isn't protesting.

Protest rallies at university campuses in the US, Canada, Britain, and Australia against what (let there be no mistake about this) are the undeniably disproportionate responses by the Israeli Defense Forces [IDF] upon Gaza, for the heinous barbarism Hamas militia forces initiated on October 7, reached fever pitch in the last two weeks of April, and into May. However, it is also an undeniable reality that, Hamas’ strategists, were 101% certain Israel’s rejoinder to what its militia initially inflicted upon unarmed Israelis on October 7, would be met with the ferocious responses which have transpired.
Therefore, the only conclusion to draw is that Hamas’ military strategists willfully launched that gruesome attack on October 7, knowing full well that Israel would respond ferociously. Essentially, Hamas was fully prepared to inevitably sacrifice the lives of many thousands of Gazans: in order for it to win the PR war. And there are two aspects with this abhorrent strategy.
First, they knew it was absolutely certain that, the millions of Muslims currently residing in Western countries (which accrues to be in the vicinity of 30 million people) would culminate with them rallying en masse to stage pro-Palestinian, and anti-Western protests.
The second trait of its plan, was with banking upon gaining the sympathy of leftoid liberals in Western spheres: by way of manipulating their mindsets with seeing an unending parade of suffering in Gaza.
Well, the latter facet has certainly come to fruition, and prevails with leftist-leaning education federations in Western nations calling for ‘solidarity with Palestine’, and the ‘eradication of Israel, and its inhabitants’. However, these same entities haven’t summarily condemned the extreme barbarism that Hamas perpetrated on October 7, with callously massacring between 1200, unarmed people, and raping women.
With respect to Muslim organisations not condemning this barbarism, obviously come as no surprise to anyone. After all, these same Islamic entities have never unreservedly condemned those Muslims fundamentalists who willfully murdered 532 people, during the Reign of Terror that transpired in Britain and western Europe, between the Atocha bombings in 2004, and all the way through to the murder of the local MP, Sir David Amess, on October 15, 2021.
At every pro-Palestinian/anti-Western rally that has occurred in scores of major cities, and campuses in Western nations from the middle of October, has seen numerous instances of vile rhetoric being spewed out calling for the eradication of Israel, and Jews. One such instance occurred in Melbourne, on November 23, at a pro-Palestinian rally, when a 16-year-old Muslim girl (clad with a scarf over its head), unconditionally called for the annihilation of Israel, and Jews.
On Nov 24, a front-page article pertaining in The Australian titled, ‘Chilling words of Aussie schoolkid: Hamas ‘doing a good job’. The article reported that a 16-year-old Muslim girl, “bristled with glee about the Jews who were butchered by Hamas militia”.
Since then, we’ve had the horrific situation where a 16-year-old Muslim boy attacked a Syrian bishop at the pulpit in his church at Wakley. He did this, because the bishop had “defiled the prophet”. Yesterday, Friday May 4, I went to the Sydney University where a pro-Palestinian, and pro-Israel groups faced off with each other. And it was there that I heard two young Muslim women square off with three pro-Israeli protestors, and one of them said, “The sooner there is no Israel, and no Jews on the planet, is hen the world will be a good place.”
Well, if I (a white male) was to have said anything as divisive as that, to any person who was non-white or, indeed, a non-Christian, then the authorities would have charged me with some offence. And if I was in Britain that would entail a jail sentence of at least two years.
Alas, when it comes to Muslims vomiting out vile, and highly derogatory perspectives, politicians and self-hating, progressives/liberals are like the three monkeys, who only want to see what fits into their deluded perspectives. Effectively, that boils down to being that, ONLY White folks can be racist and bigoted.
Apropos to why politicians here in Australia have been virtually quite obscure with calling out Muslims for their disdain to Jews and the abolition of Israel, is inherently due to the fact that, there are 8 federal electoral seats in Sydney and Melbourne that have high percentage of Muslim voters that would dislodge their sitting members. However, there are also another 4 seats in the major cities of Australia, with up to 20 percent of voters in Labor held seats who are Muslim.
Hence, those percentages of voters in these seats, which are also held by Labor party members, are more than enough to oust them, too. Therefore, if the federal government was to condemn the virulent bigotry espoused and, INDEED, inflicted by Muslims would see it lose office. In confluence with this occurring here in Australia, there are similar occurrences taking place in the US, Canada, and in Britain, whereby Muslims threaten the security of political parties in those spheres.
This most certainly the case in Britain, whereby HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Muslims have taken to the streets in recent months demonstrating with pro-Palestinian rallies. All of which extols that Muslims are totally unassimilable in the host societies. And because of their numbers can affect the outcomes of elections.

Something similar happened to me in 2018 here in Brazil just after I left my first uni. A teacher had to go on maternity leave, so the school hired a substitute (who happened to be a black woman) to fill in for her until her return. After the initial teacher returned and the sub left as per the contract, some students heard of this and decided that the school was discriminating against the substitute and DEMANDED that she be hired as "historical reparation". They barricated themselves inside with tables and chairs, teachers and students were not allowed in, and the school was forced to hire the teacher (the protesters never bothered to talk with her or check what she wanted, though I guess she didn't complain about getting a free job). It showed up in the news and everything. Thank god I left that place in time, and hope all this mess there in the US ends soon as well.

Agreed. And one cornerstone of protest is the element of sacrifice. Most protests involve deprivation of one sort or another, and it is a sign of the strength of your belief in the cause that you are willing to undergo that deprivation - being arrested among the most common of those. We knew that back in the 60's and 70's. If you're not willing to accept the hardship consequences of your (hopefully peaceful) unlawful protest, then how meaningful is your cause, really?
