Seems like it worked some magic. He was 3 when this song came out. He's fighting 2 kinds of cancer & somewhat winning. Seems like it worked some magic. Glad your dad got to live a long life, hope you keep lots of memories to smile back on. Wishing you peace & happiness. Missing my younger brother & ex gf. Life feels so much less full without them...so much time left...maybe. Hugs back at you. 🥲

What a gorgeous voice! It tugs at my heart, even now. Nat smoked a lot and unfortunately ended up with lung cancer at a relatively young age. He died in the late '50s or early '60s.
I can still see the television message he recorded for the youths of that time, encouraging them not to smoke, because of what happened to him. He was dying at that time, and to offer such advice at a time like that, in the dreadful condition he was in, was truly heroic. An American hero. RIP Nat.

You don't have to believe me, just realize this for yourself by practicing meditation (silencing the mind) you'll discover that you are not the thoughts or even human, but something much much bigger & real

Smile though your heart is aching
    Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
    Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through
    For you
Light up your face with gladness
    Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear maybe ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile- what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth while
    If you just smile
Oh that's the time you must keep on trying
Smile what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worth while
    If you just smile

I thought I’d leave a comment about Mr. Nat King Cole. My father took my mother to go see Nat King Cole in Los Angeles in the area called Silverlake off of Alvarado Avenue and 11th St. small club very nondescript but when Mr. Cole sang, it was unforgivable moment for my mother and father, testament to hard. Nat King Cole worked to bring the music to the masses as they say in those days after World War II feelings of uncertainty and what was to come was very challenging for the people that came back after World War II, cherish that my father shared that with me and thank you, Mr. Cole for the beautiful memories❤❤❤❤

Even though I was born about 45 years after this. I listen to Nat king cole because it reminds me of my Gran she always used to sing and hum along to his songs and when her dementia was in the later stages whenever we put on Nat she was back to her old self singing along once again. Good memories
