This is how Hollywood once was and should be. Beautiful people living out their onscreen romances in fantasyland. No two finer examples here than Gregory Peck and Deborah Kerr. What a lovely couple.
Mr. Peck's dignity, intelligence and goodness came from within, and showed outwardly, in every scene he ever played in. He was enormously handsome, but did not act as if he knew it. He was immensely dinstinuished. and was an amazing actor and demonstrated it so eloquently and naturally. There are no more actors like those of his era. Ms. Kerr was also a fabulously brilliant and beautiful performer, who had such natural grace, charm and dignity. She made everyone who ever worked with her respect her. I miss her so much. We have to content ourselves these days with the amazing British actor, Michael Kitchen, of Foyle's War fame. I'll take him, as like Peck, he is so cool, so dignified and distinguished.
She would be wearing a "nothing there" type of dress or torn jeans. He would look scruffy and sloppy. Both would be grotty and covered in tats. The weight problem and general scowl would be totally uniform, and both would be protesting about something they know nothing about. Welcome to the world of "she, they, them" ugliness and confusion in 2024. God help us.
