An underrated mon for roxxane is actually woobat. If your able to put in the right situation your able to wall out the wishcash by skill swapping to get water absorb and doing calm mind roost stored power set up and sweeping roxxane.
Actually let me add a few things: - Ledian can run Power-Up Punch instead of Swords Dance since Raging Boxer lets it hit twice. So it can dish out solid damage while boosting. - I would give Furret Agility. Due to Momentum Agility basically gives you a +2 in both Speed and Attack, which is insanely good. - Probably the single best Pokémon for Roxanne is Mightyena. Give it a Choice Band and Iron Fangs and you've basically won. Easily one of the best early game Pokémon. - Bibarel is crazy good. Simple doubles your stat changes, so a single Swords Dance gives you a +4 and Growing Tooth gives you a +2 after every Aqua Fang or other biting move. Alsobit gets STAB priority in Aqua Jet. - Azumarill got even better in 2.0. Before it had Water Veil, which gave it built-in Leftovers plus burn immunity, but now it additionally gets an ability that nullifies super-effective damage once, which make Belly Drum sets even better. So yeah, I think Mightyena, Ledian, Bibarel, Azumarill and Furret are some of the best Pokémon before the 1. badge. Beautifly is also very good and so are Luvdisc and Mankey. Keep the 2.0 videos coming!
I'm surprised you didn't talk about Mankey. Gorilla Tactics is absurdly strong, especially since Mankey has Hyper Aggressive as its second Innate, and Anger Point to make your Attacks even more potent (if you're able to tank a hit at least). Hell, I'd say Mankey is even stronger than Mienfoo rn. Also, this video is primarily for Ace mode and Ace caps. Just wanted to put it out there since it's never mentioned anywhere else
swadloon is also a great mon early game, firing off stab flourish boosted grassy glides in grassy terrain, along with sticky web for speed control and chloroplast boosted synthesis to stay around longer, also while it doesnt get any good boosting moves, it can use baton pass to be able to take a hit before switching allowing a safe switch it also gets overcoat reducing special damage by 20%, but if youre playing on elite level caps you wont get access to it before its able to evolve
Azumarill is another great pick for the early game! Pair its Aqua Ring ability with leftovers and you have solid chip healing, plus it can withstand most hits from any Pokémon that doesn’t hit it super-effectively. Pair that with Scald, Ice Beam, Knock Off, and whatever else to get the most out of it.
Luvdisc is such a good mon for roxanne scald ice beam and rain dance for removing the sandstorm and having soul heart makes it such a good mon since each ko gives it a +1 spec att boost
Finally you mentioned both of our favourites, furret Just please, please, please, use agility with it and max defense along with a special wall in the back, for preference with wish to pass on to furret or any other mon when switching out with teleport
Funnily enough i found Flaafy to be really good as a pivot. The only pokemon that i could find that could consistently 2hit it is Roxanne's Gligar; but in return Flaafy can 1shot it with HP ice.
I literally just beat Roxanne in my second play through with Furret solo! Belly Drum with Drain Punch goes so hard. Plus with normal fights I was using normalize which worked out beautifully.
With Ledian, you can even make it immune to flying type attacks with Aerodynamics, which is good since flying would normally be 4x effective against bug and fighting types
@@maxwassermann3171 if you're going up against an expert with flying types such as Winona, wouldn't aerodynamics by better, especially with ledian's innates boosting both ice and thunder punch?
@@maxwassermann3171 Lol, they could've come up with a better name than "buginize"... Edit:Nevermind, just found out it's actually called pollinate thank god
@@michaelkowal3230 Well, sure, against Winona I would switch to Aerodynamics, but that ability only comes in handy if you know you can expect a Flying type move. Actually, I wouldn't use Ledian for Winona either way, unless you are doing a Bug type run.
Thanks for reminding me to actually check mons, I would usually not consider taking a normal type to a rock gym but herdier as it turns out is turbo op for that fight kekw made elite roxanne on doubles pretty trivial with brionne and a mightyena to help with dealing insane damage with helping hand support from the unkillable doggo.
Might be because of Favorite Pokémon bias but Monferno is an excellent choice for a Starter. Monferno’s movepool is so deep it can reasonably compress a lot of roles. Hazard lead? It gets Stealth Rock, learns both Fake Out and Mach Punch for priority and gets annoying status moves like Taunt and Will O Wisp. It also has Prankster as an innate so those moves have priority! Strong choice user? It gets Gorilla Tactics as an ability and learns both Close Combat and Flare Blitz early giving it very strong STAB options and it gets U-Turn as a pivot move. Slap a Choice Scarf on it and you’re good to go. Need a setup mon? It learns Swords Dance and Agility. It even has Defiant if you get lucky enough to switch in on a stat debuff.
I am astonished at how well they handled the reduxian forms in 2.0. Ive gotten a decent ammount of them, and every single one ive gotten is very fun to use! All of them have fun concepts, great execution, and amazing spritework! Not a single dud.
another really good tank I've personally enjoyed is Aron and sudowudo. aron with lead coat + relaxed nature + eviolite is really good especially with body press in it's roster for all the early normal types and rock pokemon in the gym. Sudowudo has an evo meaning it ALSO can run eviolite to it's already good 125 defense stat. so it can also run body press. plus it gets the option of juggernaut which boosts contact moves based on 20% of it's defense or water compaction which is good for any opponent water types. body press wood hammer stone edge and ice punch i'd run on it and it's solid.
Ponyta is crazy, I don't know if it's still in Oldale in 2.0, but when I used it it was so absurd. High speed with decent bulk boosted by Eviolite, will o wisp + morning sun for survival, and Blaze Kick boosted by Striker makes it stronger than Flare Blitz, with no recoil.
Im playing mono steel and the only way i got through the first gym is with aron spamming iron defense, magnet rise and body press. Although the first trainer of the gym was harder than Roxane for me lol
I'm actually gonna have to disagree with you, MegaFidough, on Mienfoo, as there is another fighting type in the same patch of grass that is debatebly better. Mankey Its ability, Gorilla Tactics, allows it to double it's attack but locks itself in on the first move. Sure, it doesn't seem that good, but Mankey gets access to STAB Close Combat, quite literally nuking everything, even some pokemon that naturally resist fighting type moves. Since Mankey is one of the fastest pokemon early game, you can make a point to not give it Choice Scarf and instead pile on the damage with Choice Band, but personally, being outsped and revenge killed is something that I am not a fan of. Also I'm not sure as of 2.0, but Mankey has an ability called Hyper Aggressive, where it hits twice, with the only drawback being that the subsequent hit is weaker. However, this works great in Mankey's favour, as the amount of pokemon that have focus sash in the early game is a lot. And since Mankey has Choice Band, that extra hit could gain enough power to knock out a Max Defence pokemon with the last bit of chip Hyper Aggressive does!
speaking from playing elite mode with elite caps i would say servine is also a really good starter, it sweeps most pokemon with leaf storm and can sweep the first gym if you break marcargos sash. swap between eviolite and choice scarf depending on the fight another one is vivilion, tinted lens + it's attacking stats makes it a really effective pokemon, and past the first gym you can use sleep powder+ quiver dance to sweep the second gym (also it has a 50% encounter chance in route 102 with honey meaning it's easy to reset for in nuzlockes)
@@MegaFidough i have checked your discord..... but members tell me i have to patch game by my own..... I play games on Android using gba emulator can you provide games which have been already patch
