1985, literally ever girl in high school was wearing a denim miniskirt and a bedazzled jean jacket, with hair teased up to the sky. I've seen you get amped about bands that fell into the category, but this is where I feel like you're getting 80's metal in general.
If you like this, try Twisted Sister. "WE'RE NOY GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE. this was a teen anthem for the eighties. Have to watch video. Ouiet Riot was huge. That's for playing it.
"Girls, rock your boys". This song was originally recorded by the band Slade. Slade has lots of great songs too. " Goodbye T'Jane", "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", " Run Runaway". This song was written by lead vocalist Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea, from Slade.
Noddy also does the "voice" in the lift (elevator) in Walsall Art Gallery (his hometown). Sadly, he put on his best posh voice for it - it would have been nice to have heard it in a Black Country accent - "YAM ON THE FUST FLOW-ER!"
This song is a bonafide rock anthem!!! Never fails to get me jacked up! And yes, it is a cover of a Slade song, and as much as I love the original, this version just kinda amps up the juice and energy a bit, which I totally love. They also covered another Slade song (Mama Weer All Crazee Now) trying to replicate the success of this one. Along with Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna take It" they are 2 of my fave rock anthems that just make you wanna bang your head, raise your fist, and just ROCK OUT!
The band didn't want to do this cover but the record company told them they needed another song for their album. So they did a crappy job on it and it hit the album and it became a big hit. You guys should check out the original from Slade back in the early seventies. They did another Slade cover "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", yes that's the way it's spelled, "Metal Health", "Slick Black Cadilliac" are also pretty good too.
LOL always loved this video. Reminded me of how mom would wake me up in the mornings. My mother loved her metal music clear up to the day she passed away last March at 74 and she would crank it, she hated alarm clocks always saying "alarm clocks are so jarring to wake up to" . She would laugh as I would come dancing out of my bedroom and we would have a two song dance session to start the day. Many a day I would get off of the bus which was a block and a half from my house. At a block from the house it was nothing to hear, AC/DC, Kiss, Quiet Riot, you name it. All the kids hung at my house because mom always had the latest rock music, and back in the day there was this crazy idea that the music was hiding hidden messages from satan, so many kids parents had actually thrown away their rock music. Biggest fight mom and dad ever had was over her music. He was a pentacostal minister and didn't feel it was proper for his wife to listen to that type of music. Mom said "No, what wouldn't be proper is my throwing this box of records at your head" just before she threw the box of records at his head. LMAO Thanks for the great reaction and the even greater memory. Stay safe and blessed.
Another great song by Slade is Mama Weer All Crazer Now. I think Quiet Riot covers that song as well. I first heard Slade when I lived in Australia. Very popular there in the early 70s. I was in Australia from 74-76 as a teenager.
Quiet Riot DID cover "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", on their follow-up album to Metal Health. But the band didn't want to do it; they did it at the insistence of the record company, who wanted to capitalize on the success of their "Cum On Feel the Noize" cover.
Pretty sure this was also the song that kicked off the whole hair metal craze of the 80s. Before this song...there just wasn't much hair metal on the radio.
The line is "Girls ROCK your boys". When this song came out I got in an argument with a girl on our bus (we were in high school at the time). She swore that the lyrics was girls F*#$ your boys... I kept pointing out to her that there was no way the radio would let them say that on the air but she wouldn't be dissuaded, she kept singing it that way on the bus with her girlfriends. It is funny you ask about the guitarist... The original guitarist that helped form the band was a famous guitarist named Randy Rhoads. He was around for the first 2 albums but left the group to become Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist. At the time of this album Carlos Cavazo was the guitarist.
Interestingly, that is what "rock" often implies. As you said, they could not sawsuch words on the radio (at least not back then), so "ROCK AND ROLL" was the best they could manage. "Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball. When you're rockin' and a rollin', Can't hear your momma call…" They weren't singing about dancing.
This is one of my favorite bands , as they were part of my early introduction to the genre known as Heavy Metal. The members are as follows: Lead Singer - Kevin Dubrow ( deceased) Lead Guitar- Carlos Cavazo Drums- Frankie Banali ( deceased) Bass- Rudy Sarzo This song is a cover by the band Slade. Quiet Riot version went to no.5 on the Billboard charts, quite an accomplishment for this genre. Try “ Metal Health” a true head-banging song. Sadly they’ve lost core members but the legacy this group left us is unwavering. Enjoy!!
Not a patch on the original by UK group Slade. Check them out, so big in the early seventies. My favourites would be "My oh My" "Everyday" and "How does it Feel" Much love from England 🏴
**GIRLS ROCK YOUR BOYS!!!!!** HELL YESSSS BABYYYYYYYY!!!!! QUIET F-ing RIOT!!!!! These boys meant a lot to me back in the day. I was fresh out of high school in 83 when this came out. They where the very first metal band to make it to #1 on the album chart and #5 on the singles chart. Unfortunately this album was their only real big one, the next was ok at best then that was it. The thing I loved about these guys is all the free concerts they did that and the next year, I attended 4 myself. Very fun band to see play, I only wish their original guitarist was still playing with them, Randy Rhodes but he was off becoming a guitar god for Ozzy instead. My QR suggestion: This album had many killer songs. Most will tell you to do Metal Health and while that is a very good choice it's just a look at the same type of song as Feel the Noise. I'll put up a few.... Same type: Metal Health: ruclips.net/video/O_1ruZWJigo/видео.html (Quite the vocal display by Kevin) My favorite of theirs: Run For Cover ruclips.net/video/yIMAJTv86J8/видео.html (The drive of this tune is killer!!!! Everyone in the band is totally on point and going for it) Slow/ballad type: Don't Wanna Let You Go ruclips.net/video/6ywyJbF3rYM/видео.html (Weird ass voice to sing a ballad but it soooo works) Carlos Jamming: Battle Axe ruclips.net/video/dXMk7EHIQ4A/видео.html (Just a long ass eh' solo) Peace
Quiet Riot was a great band and they put out a few really good albums in the 80's. The band broke up and got back together a coule of times. Guitarist Carlos Cavazo left and joined RATT and bassist Rudy Sarzo left and played with Whitesnake. Lead singer Kevin DuBrow passed away in 2007 and drummer Frankie Banali passed away in 2020. (Leaving the band with no original members). Recently, original bassist Rudy Sarzo agreed to rejoin the band.
@@dclogger I disagree. "Condition Critical" and "QRIII" were awesome. After that, I feel their focus and energy were lacking. Personal rifts, band members leaving. But early on, I feel they were tight.
Originally played by Slade. Last song recorded for the album Metal Health. The record company forced QR to play a cover. QR hated that. Band members tried to play the song badly as a protest. That backfired! 🤯 This became the most popular song for QR! 🤯 Frankie Benali on guitar 🎸 He replaced the late Randy Rhodes, who left for Ozzy Osborne. Suggested next video: Mama We're All Crazy Now. RIP Randy Rhodes, Kevin Dubrow 👨🎤and Carlos Cavazo 🥁
I was 10 years in 5th grade when this song came on the Radio, it was everywere, huge hit here in Monterey, México. Here a lot of schools had two shifts, I went at noon, from 1:00 pm to 5:30, and a local TV station Start its broadcast at 12:30 and before its programming they played "cum on feel the Noize" quiet/riot's video, I SEAT in front of the TV and watched the video 'til the end, and then I went to the school, feeling the noise thanks to quiero/riot
This was the song that brought me to 80s Hair Metal. 1983 and 6th grade seems a lifetime ago. Thos was also MTV'S first super champion on Friday Night Video fights.
@@bradsullivan2495 I know there are probably many Brad Sullivans out there, but are you the one that produced many of the hair and metal bands back in the day? lol would be cool if you were and if not, ur name popping up on this video was still a kick to see.

Back in the 80s my company was moving from NY to NH, so we went up there to check out the new building. After work one day we’re in the elevator at our hotel, & who walks in but Quiet Riot. You didn’t see too many long hairs in NH back than. We started talking & they were the nicest guys, & said they were playing downtown Concord that night, & gave us tickets. Loudest concert I ever went to! Next day we watched their tricked out tour bus roll out of the hotel parking lot. Fun times.
WOW! YES! It has been a while since I've seen this video! Nearly forgot about it! When I first heard this song, it was with Quet Riot in the 80s! Some years later I found out it was a cover song from a band called Slade in the 1970s! Blew my mind! I've heard both versions and they are both really good to listen to, but IMO Quiet Riot ROCKED IT out for me! And this has already been mentioned by your viewers already that they covered music from Slade but the only song I remember in my youth from Slade is their song' Run Runaway'. It is a catchy tune that much I will say, and I don't pay too much attention to the video but more to the lyrics and those I had to look up for myself at one time. I think you two will like it, the lyrics are not straightforward so you can come up with your own interpretation. Seems a bit difficult to find that video with better visual and sound quality though. Enjoyed your reaction! Peace!
For Female Friday, there is a song that takes place completely in a snow globe. It is with Lzzy Hale and Lindsey Stirling. It is quite different. It is called Shatter Me.
When Quiet Riot's version first came out back in the 80's our 6th grade class had a school dance at the end of the year. I walked in and they were playing this song. I knew we were in for a good time, then. 🤘 I still can't believe the teachers allowed this to be played. Someone on staff were cool...
When i was in 1st grade this song was new and i took my older bros cassette with the song to school and asked my teacher to play it for the class and she did. The kids were jumpin around. Older bro had taped it off casey kasems top 40 haha. I was rockin early on. 😎
On November 26, 1983 Quiet Riot became the first heavy metal band to have a top 5 hit and No. 1 album in the same week. And thus began 80's hair metal.
I saw them in Indianapolis about 25 years ago. It was at the Indiana State Fairgrounds-- at the hockey rink of all places! A stage was set up over the seats at one end. People could sit in seat off to the side or stand on the ice! It was, well, a riot!
OMGosh!!!!! Now I am a semi professional drummer...but this was the FIRST song I ever learned how to play to...I am trained by ear. And this video was the best thing ever on the earth at the time. An amazing tune. Thanks for covering it you two, I love you!
Mental Health was the first vinyl record I bought with my first paycheck from my first job. Great choice and reaction. R.I.P. Kevin and Frankie. The guitar player is Carlos Cavos (I think I spelled his last name right) or maybe Randy Rhodes.
classic great amazing song Randy Rhodes legendary guitarist also played with Ozzy. The lead singers voice amazing the drums everything was amzing with this band and there sound. this was huge hit song in 83 I had this cassette tape I use to play this amazing song and bang your head .everybody loved it. and would go crazy . you guys will love it and be like that song is a banger and you will love there sound
They did 2 albums in Japan only in the late 70s with Randy Rhoads. Then they had a 3 year delay before this album came out. It was worth the wait. Thunderbird ( from this album) is their tribute to Randy
Probably their second most well known song, behind Metal Health, which rang in the hair metal era when it beat out the Police to become the #1 song on the billboard 200.
The song Metal Health peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album Metal Health became the first heavy metal album the reach #1 on the Billboard 200.
Guitarist was Carlos Cavazzo. Quiet Riot, is regarded is the first Metal Band that opened the doors for Metal Bands, as in being more mainstream. These guys always put on a good show
This is a cover of a song by Slade. They did it for an audition for the record company. They didn't want to play it so the drummer said "I'll play a beat you can't possibly play with. " He played it straight. The lead singer was pissed. The song shot to number 1.
*Fun Fact - The lead singer is Kevin Dubrow. If you've ever seen the show 'Botched', Dr. Terry Dubrow is one of the surgeons and the lead singers brother.*
Oh yes! This is a Slade original - and theirs is the best !! I wagged school to listen to the new Slade 1973 album "Sladest" that featured this song. It had been released as a single but my best friend got one of the first copies of the album, we played it full volume all day !!
These guys were a breakout band that came out of nowhere but were featured on a Live Concert in Japan and shown on American TV and exploded to the top in no time! Another American band that appeared on a different Live Concert in Japan that had the same success was Night Ranger...both unknown in America untill Japan brought them out. Kevin Dubrow lead singer for Quiet Riot had a very loud clear voice "live" very impressive. He became a Rock D.J. for a Rock Station in Las Vegas during the 90's where he met his wife a successful Realtor Lark Williams who also had a TV program of her own and she was very pretty and funny. Kevin died on a Thanksgiving Day 2007 after dining with friends and family he went to his room and snorted too much cocaine. Carlos Cavazo lead guitarist, and Rudy Sarzo bass guitarist still had huge success with other Rock Bands because of they're Quiet Riot resume'...I believe Quiet Riot is the only Metal Band to have a No.#1 album Billboard Charts whatever, that broke the mold, blew everything away on regular radio programming usually reserved only for Pop Radio.
@@elbruces As the story goes, they never decided who should be the "one" to play bad. After the recording, DuBrow went after Frankie Banali asking him why he played it straight and Banali said, "I noticed you sang it right as well!"

That's false, the song reached number 5, what reached number 1 was the album, and in reality, Black Sabbath had had numbers 1 in other countries before them, not everything is in the United States.

Sung by Slade in the 70s. 🤘
My favorite song of all time wow 10 out of 10 incredible songs
The band didn't want to do this cover but the record company told them they needed another song for their album. So they did a crappy job on it and it hit the album and it became a big hit. You guys should check out the original from Slade back in the early seventies. They did another Slade cover "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", yes that's the way it's spelled, "Metal Health", "Slick Black Cadilliac" are also pretty good too.
Crappy job?? Their cover was a massive hit.....
@@djm4457 Read or listen to any interview with the band, they didn't want to play the song. And yes it's a massive hit, I did say that in the comment.
@@vernhoke7730 I understand your point. I think the fact that it recorded rough gave it a grittier feel that resonated with an awful lot of people.
I think The Runaways also covered that song.
First huge song for them and nearly starting the hair metal spread across the Country. My Senior year favorite song.
Quiet Riot made history with this. The first metal album to ever go to number 1 on the charts!
Then Skid Row’s 1991 Slave to the Grind was the first heavy metal album to debut at #1
Pretty sure this was also the song that kicked off the whole hair metal craze of the 80s. Before this song...there just wasn't much hair metal on the radio.
Ushered in 80’s metal.
Cream, The Doors and Jimi Hendrix all had #1 albums in 1968. Led Zeppelin hit number 1 in 1969 and twice in 1970.
@@theman4884 none of those bands are considered “heavy metal” or the metal moment of the 80’s
Another banger for me !! I love this style of music. You two rock !!
When you're rockin' and a rollin',
Can't hear your momma call…"
They weren't singing about dancing.
Never forget hearing them at the 83 US festival in Cali!!
Flew from Texas with a buddy for 3 days of rock!
This is one of my favorite bands , as they were part of my early introduction to the genre known as Heavy Metal. The members are as follows:
Lead Singer - Kevin Dubrow ( deceased)
Lead Guitar- Carlos Cavazo
Drums- Frankie Banali ( deceased)
Bass- Rudy Sarzo
This song is a cover by the band Slade. Quiet Riot version went to no.5 on the Billboard charts, quite an accomplishment for this genre. Try “ Metal Health” a true head-banging song. Sadly they’ve lost core members but the legacy this group left us is unwavering. Enjoy!!
I love it when the singer sings come on fell the noise, girls rock your boys we'll get wild wild wild. That part is awesome.
Im living the 70s threw the 80s lol They sound just LIKE SLADE there daddies lol
Not a patch on the original by UK group Slade. Check them out, so big in the early seventies. My favourites would be "My oh My" "Everyday" and "How does it Feel" Much love from England 🏴
Yes, the live tv version is awesome! Baby, Baby, Babeee!
My second concert ever: Quiet Riot - Joan Jett - Loverboy, in that order. Those were the days :)
So sad to hear about the passing of Meat Loaf he certainly blessed us with his wonderful talent
He did, indeed.
Hot Patootie, bless his soul, he really loved that rock n roll
Wow hadn't heard about him passing. Guess I know now.
**GIRLS ROCK YOUR BOYS!!!!!**
HELL YESSSS BABYYYYYYYY!!!!!
My QR suggestion:
This album had many killer songs. Most will tell you to do Metal Health and while that is a very good choice it's just a look at the same type of song as Feel the Noise. I'll put up a few....
Same type: Metal Health: ruclips.net/video/O_1ruZWJigo/видео.html (Quite the vocal display by Kevin)
My favorite of theirs: Run For Cover ruclips.net/video/yIMAJTv86J8/видео.html (The drive of this tune is killer!!!! Everyone in the band is totally on point and going for it)
Slow/ballad type: Don't Wanna Let You Go ruclips.net/video/6ywyJbF3rYM/видео.html (Weird ass voice to sing a ballad but it soooo works)
Carlos Jamming: Battle Axe ruclips.net/video/dXMk7EHIQ4A/видео.html (Just a long ass eh' solo)
Peace
Quiet Riot was a great band and they put out a few really good albums in the 80's. The band broke up and got back together a coule of times. Guitarist Carlos Cavazo left and joined RATT and bassist Rudy Sarzo left and played with Whitesnake. Lead singer Kevin DuBrow passed away in 2007 and drummer Frankie Banali passed away in 2020. (Leaving the band with no original members). Recently, original bassist Rudy Sarzo agreed to rejoin the band.
This was their only good albums. The others were terrible. Maybe they’re so bad that they’re good in a campy sort of way.
@@dclogger Thanks for your opinion
@@dclogger I disagree. "Condition Critical" and "QRIII" were awesome. After that, I feel their focus and energy were lacking. Personal rifts, band members leaving. But early on, I feel they were tight.
That was the very first Metal band to hit No1 in billboard with their album. And then the flood gates opened. The 80's were an amazing time.
Originally played by Slade.
Last song recorded for the album Metal Health.
The record company forced QR to play a cover. QR hated that. Band members tried to play the song badly as a protest.
That backfired! 🤯 This became the most popular song for QR! 🤯
Frankie Benali on guitar 🎸 He replaced the late Randy Rhodes, who left for Ozzy Osborne.
Suggested next video: Mama We're All Crazy Now.
RIP Randy Rhodes, Kevin Dubrow 👨🎤and Carlos Cavazo 🥁
Confirmed 👍Thanks 😊

I was 10 years in 5th grade when this song came on the Radio, it was everywere, huge hit here in Monterey, México. Here a lot of schools had two shifts, I went at noon, from 1:00 pm to 5:30, and a local TV station Start its broadcast at 12:30 and before its programming they played "cum on feel the Noize" quiet/riot's video, I SEAT in front of the TV and watched the video 'til the end, and then I went to the school, feeling the noise thanks to quiero/riot
you two are totally bringing back my youth.
This was the song that brought me to 80s Hair Metal. 1983 and 6th grade seems a lifetime ago. Thos was also MTV'S first super champion on Friday Night Video fights.
This song came out about the same time as Def Leppard emerged on the scene, but DL lasted much longer.
Actually Def Leppard debut was 1980 and this came out in 1983.
@@peterstudios961 I should have indicated they emerged with their first hit, "Rock of Ages"
@@bradsullivan2495 I know there are probably many Brad Sullivans out there, but are you the one that produced many of the hair and metal bands back in the day? lol would be cool if you were and if not, ur name popping up on this video was still a kick to see.
@@JessieCristo No, but I'm trying to stop laughing thinking about me handling that job.😂
I had the privilege of seeing this line up at Studebaker's in Vancouver in the late 1990s. Great live band.

Quiet Riot also covered another Slade song - "Mama We're All Crazy Now". ruclips.net/video/eEv6jy_7PQQ/видео.html
Fun times.
Another hit of theirs was “Metal Health (Bang Your Head)”
WOW!
They also need some Liz Phair
Absolutely!!
83 wow my junior year in high school cruising and partying on the weekends loved it
Originally done by Slade along with, Mama we're all crazy now, another hit by Quiet Riot
Bang Your Head (Metal Health)
When Quiet Riot's version first came out back in the 80's our 6th grade class had a school dance at the end of the year.
I walked in and they were playing this song. I knew we were in for a good time, then. 🤘
I still can't believe the teachers allowed this to be played.
I thought def leppard started 80s "hair metal" with pyromania? Biggest selling rock album of 83 by far.
Carlos Cavazo lead guitarist. Very underrated.
Love your reactions!!
Come on, feel the noise
Girls, rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Wild, wild, wild
Takes a lot of practice J trust me!! keep rockin you two God bless!!
I saw them in Indianapolis about 25 years ago. It was at the Indiana State Fairgrounds-- at the hockey rink of all places! A stage was set up over the seats at one end. People could sit in seat off to the side or stand on the ice! It was, well, a riot!
I saw them at M.S.A.in 1983 warm up for Nazareth. They were awesome.
OMGosh!!!!! Now I am a semi professional drummer...but this was the FIRST song I ever learned how to play to...I am trained by ear. And this video was the best thing ever on the earth at the time. An amazing tune. Thanks for covering it you two, I love you!
The lead singer of Quiet Riot passed away a few years back from a drug overdose i believe another song you might like Bang Your Head (Metal Health)
14 years ago now.
70"s SLADE BRILLIANT . I was dancing to the original as a kid and i am old very old it"s better by far . .
Mental Health was the first vinyl record I bought with my first paycheck from my first job. Great choice and reaction. R.I.P. Kevin and Frankie. The guitar player is Carlos Cavos (I think I spelled his last name right) or maybe Randy Rhodes.
That's Carlos Cavazo.
METAL health but. Probably got autocorrected
Not Randy. He started the band but was with Ozzy by this time, I think.
Randy Rhoads had already died by the time this was recorded. He had been out of Quiet Riot for quite some time.
classic great amazing song Randy Rhodes legendary guitarist also played with Ozzy.
Wow! You guys just now getting around to this one. One of my favorite driving songs. Girls rock your boys.
These guys always put on a good show
Have a listen to the original, released in 1973 by Slade
and Run Ranaway.!
This is a cover of a song by Slade. They did it for an audition for the record company. They didn't want to play it so the drummer said "I'll play a beat you can't possibly play with. " He played it straight. The lead singer was pissed. The song shot to number 1.
I believe Quiet Riots two biggest selling singles were covers of Slade songs. This song and ‘Momma, wer all crazee now’.
Give Slade’s versions a go!
But listen to Slade’s version!!!!
I think Metal Health was biggest than these two.
Ya there 2 biggest The 80s need to thank the 70s
*Fun Fact - The lead singer is Kevin Dubrow. If you've ever seen the show 'Botched', Dr. Terry Dubrow is one of the surgeons and the lead singers brother.*
Oh yes! This is a Slade original - and theirs is the best !! I wagged school to listen to the new Slade 1973 album "Sladest" that featured this song. It had been released as a single but my best friend got one of the first copies of the album, we played it full volume all day !!
100% correct
This takes me back. Every Saturday at the Big Wheelie. They played this and everyone hit the rink.
OMG, my siblings and I LOVED Quiet Riot!! Please check out "Mama, Weer All Crazee Now" and "Bang Your Head(Metal Health)"!!
Fun fact: Quiet Riot did not want to do this cover so they attempted to record as poorly as possible, and still was gold.
Goes to show you just do it works
WRONG ALL their songs are poorly done!
Um no, they clearly did well on this track on purpose.
And they also said their other Slade cover of Mama we’er all Crazee now was a mistake they shouldn’t have done
@@elbruces As the story goes, they never decided who should be the "one" to play bad. After the recording, DuBrow went after Frankie Banali asking him why he played it straight and Banali said, "I noticed you sang it right as well!"
This is legit my favorite classic rock song!!! It's so much fun to dance to ^_^
In this version it say Girls rock your boys. But in the concert rock was changed to *&%&. I think you can figure it out.

They sure are
The song is covered and it's good. And that guitar solo is so melodious and cool.
Fun Fact: this song was the first heavy song to reach #1 on the billboard charts. This song started the 80s metal movement
And knocked Michael Jackson from the 1 which makes this song even better lol
cool
That's false, the song reached number 5, what reached number 1 was the album, and in reality, Black Sabbath had had numbers 1 in other countries before them, not everything is in the United States.
