@Tel864 I always wonder where Ozzy would have gone, musically, had Randy survived. I loved Carlos Cavasos work with Quiet Riot. Not as unique a sound as Randy Rhodes, but still awesome. I don't think I've ever heard QR with Randy on guitar. I need to search the internet for it.

Quiet Riot was a Slade cover band. Slade was the greatest! Loud rock and roll. I saw Slade live in an old movie theater in INdy. Two weeks later my ears were still ringing and buzzing. They played with Brownsville Station. GREAT SHOW!
Sorry, but I have to come to the defense of Quiet Riot. They were not a cover band. Record producer insisted that they cover the song. I was a fan of Quiet Riot and Slade. Also I have a guitar that was autographed by Brownsville Station.
The lead singer, Kevin DeBrow, actually helped put his Brother through medical school. His Brother is now one of the most sought out plastic surgeons in the world. He's in the TV show Botched
Not sure why, but this is how the original artists Slade wrote it. The song was also covered by Oasis as a B side. Quite riot also covered another song by slade which was Mama Weer All Crazee Now. If u ever watched the show botched the taller Dr is the brother to the lead singer of quiet riot, who unfortunately passed away from the mix of cocaine and ambiance back in the early 90s his name was Kevin Dubrow
Quiet Riot and Twisted Sister sounded quite similar, they were playing a winning anthemic/party rock formula tickling that rebellious itch present in the younger teens (13-16) of that era. Also there is a similarity in tone in Twisted Sister's singer Dee Snider and Quiet Riot's Kevin Du Brow (R.I.P.) voices. In the early 80's Quiet Riot were extremely popular, their "Metal Health" album sold 6 million physical copies and it was the first metal album ever to make it to number one in the Billboard 200 chart.
I'm loving all of this 80s ish!!! Please dive back into Motley Crue!! They have so many sides to them! Dr Feelgood, Smokin in the boys room, Home sweet home, & Wild side are all worth a listen!! 🙌 And I think the song u are mixing this up with is Rebel Yell by Billy Idol! He says More, more, more in that song!
When this played on the boombox on the way to football games, we changed the lyrics to "girls f* your boys." I think some of the band are saying that in the background, but it is drowned out by the "rock." Keep on keepin' on, man!
Quiet Riot had two good albums Metal Health & Condition Critical. After that they kinda faded into obscurity when the other 80's hairbands became popular Motley Crue,Poison,Whitesnake,Def Leppard.etc. The other song they have is "Mama We're All Crazee Now" also a Slade cover song . While some early metal bands went with Satanic imagery Quiet Riot went with mental health.Slipknot was inspired by Quiet Riot with the whole masks thing
Quiet Riot and Twisted Sister were doing music in the same genre at about the same time so there would be similar riffs and styles. The vocals set the two miles apart but the music was what got them noticed by the record industry because it was the sound they knew they could sell. Both great bands but there are always more you'll never hear of because the record companies wouldn't offer them contracts (I give you Joan Jett who had to form her own record company so we could love her music forever).
Twisted Sister followed around 2 years after this album came out. Quite Riot set the standard for this type of metal that others followed in. They helped make metal mainstream. Also the whole mask thing. Mad Max, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Holloween...it was a popular thing at the time.
You're confusing them with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, QR was the gateway to the REAL hard stuff... Sure they helped mainstreamers find metal, but I think elevating them to actually being metal is dishonest.
Saw Slade at Reading Rock festival on an August bank holiday, no matter how loud we shouted for Merry Xmas Everybody, they wouldn't play it, as it wasn't Christmas lol
This came out in 1983 and the Twisted Sister videos were about 2 years later. The music has a similar sound to other rock music of the day. This is also a remake of a 70's hit for a British band called Slade. You should check out Ani Difranco and the song 32 Flavors. I think it's wonderful that you are open to listening to so many different 'types' of music and can appreciate good music no matter the genre. Hope you and your family are adjusting well with the new baby...continued success to you and yours.
So this is a cover. The original, by a British band from the "Glam Rock" era of the 70's, was the original song to use that "innuendo" spelling, because Slade loved to add strange spelling to their song titles (Mama Weer All Crazee Now also covered by Quiet Riot, Gudbuy T'Jane). This video contains a nod to Slade in the beginning with a teddy bear wearing a top hat (Slade's Noddy Holder liked top hats).
This song was used in a commercial recently, which is probably why it sounds familiar. The “More, More, More” is from Billy Idol - Rebel Yell. Different melody, but three descending notes which makes it similar.
This takes me back! Every time it came on the radio in the car, my mom would turn up the volume and she and us kids would bang our heads and sing as loud as we could! Always impressed my friends because my mom was way older than their moms, and always knew the lyrics to our favourite songs, lol.
I’m pretty sure I still have one or 2 Quiet Riot guitar pics from this tour. I stood up against the stage for almost every concert that came through & ended up with fun mementos here & there. Gotta dig them out. 💜
While you're listening to Slade, who originated this song, check out the absolute best rock Christmas song, Slade's "Merry Xmas Everybody." I think every British show that shows a wild Christmas party has to have that song playing in the background!
They performed in a small club in Spokane WA around 99 and their final songs of the night were Thunderstruck & Highway To Hell from AC/DC. I was impressed how good they covered those songs. Many of their songs are covers.

I think I was like 8 or 9 when I first heard this song in my dad's 1969 Impala after I was hanging out with him at his custodial night shift at the college. I thought the song was called "Wild, Wild, Wild" back then..hahaha. We'd go on a lil drive before going home. Glad you bringing back these classics!! 40!

This takes me back to the 80s in Baltimore hitting Hammer Jacks on a Saturday night. So many of the metal hair bands played there before they were huge. Even after for that matter. I love stuff from the 60s and 70s, but this is just awesome party rock.
It was a sound that bands started doing around that time. It drew in the younger crowds that they needed because we were getting old, LOL. They were smart, business is business! Here's one of my favorites if you are interested....Rainbow, Long Live Rock and Roll, Dio was the lead singer at that time, that entire album is amazing. Would love to see you react to that one!
No, he's not on the twisted sister video. The father you're talking about is a character called Doug Neidermeyer from the comedy "Animal House" highly suggest you watch the movie. John Belushi also stared in this movie and it's hilarious.
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell " In the midnight hour, she cried, "More, more, more" With a rebel yell, she cried, "More, more, more," wow! In the midnight hour, babe, "More, more, more" With a rebel yell, "More, more, more More, more, more"
The producer wanted them to do this song.... the lead singer hated Slade and didn't want to do it. He finally agreed to do one take. He then got with the band to screw up the song. But they played it right and he dad to sing it right because he didn't want to be the only one screwing the song up..... It became their biggest hit.
Amusing backstory - the band did not want to record this song. Rudy Sarzo and Carlos Cavazo convinced singer Kevin DuBrow to go in and perform the song as badly as possible to get the label to scrap the song from the album. They did one take, which was released and became a hit.
Watching this video, I found myself knowing what they were going to do in the video every move every dance move. The one thing about us 80s kids is we know the words to about 98% of the songs put out in the 80s as well as their videos from beginning to end. And it was a lot of us 80s kids doing this together. Now it’s like all split up among all the kids, but back then we were united through music.
Quiet Riot is a remake of Slade's version. Really love what they've done here, sounds great. Quiet Riot Rocks! But speaking of Slade, fantastic band. Here's a couple of Slade songs you're definitely going to put on your playlist. My Oh My, and Run Runaway. Slade is out of England, they made it big in the 1970's. Give them a listen.
They really never repeated the success of the one album. They were credited with bringing rock to the mainstream in the post-disco era for the timing, but also blamed for glam rock, likely coincidental with MTV pushing them when MTV was huge.. and still playing music.
Quiet Riot may have been around before Mad Max, but the album Metal Health came out after. And you have to do the original Slade, you'd be shocked how similar their voices are.
Quiet Riot had already been rocking for 10 years when this came out, but it looked like they were never going to "make it," so guitarist Randy Rhoads left to join Ozzy before QR made the METAL HEALTH album & blew up. It's funny you should mention Twisted Sister, because these two bands were the ones who got me into Metal in the early 80s. They were 2 of the pioneers of what would become "Hair Metal" later on in the decade.
This song is a cober of a 70s hard rock english band Slade. They were very popular in England. After years of trying to make a dent in the USA, they finally became popular because of this cover. Slade had a top ten song called Run Run Away and another hit called My Oh My. Check them out. Randy Rhoads was originally the guitarist in the band before being recruited by Ozzy Osbourne
@@krepki1000 Both Randy Rhoads and bassist Rudy Sarzo were in Quiet Riot. Rudy is playing bass in this video. Randy left Quiet Riot in late 1979 to join Ozzy's new solo band, and Sarzo joined Ozzy's band in early 1981 until sometime in 1982, after Rhoads died. Sarzo finished out the Diary of a Madman tour, but had been working with Quiet Riot on their Mental Health album and rejoined Quiet Riot. This song came out in August of 1983, after Rhoads passed and Sarzo rejoined the band, with Carlos Cavazo (seen in this video) now on guitar.
Quiet Riot's singer Kevin Dubrow died of a drug overdose. The drummer Frankie Banali died of cancer. Jizzy Pearl sings with them now with John Kelly on drums. I saw them last summer at Bratfest in Madison WI, and they were great!
It's a solid band, they have these 2 iconic massive hits that you've heard now, and lots of lesser known perfectly good songs. This was off the first "heavy metal" album I ever got at 9 years old.
Slade originally sang this song. Also Quiet Riot was partially form by Randy Rhoads of Ozzy fame. I swear that last "girls rock your boys" is actually girl F your boys....its how I always sang the entire song anyways as a teen.
Quiet Riot singer Kevin DuBrow died in 2007 from a overdose. His brother Terry is a famous plastic surgeon in California and he's on the TV reality show Botched.
Slade deserves the credit
Quiet riot did Slade justice though
@@bline5891 That's no lie. I've seen both perform it and QR nailed it while still making it their own. Not really an easy thing to so.

No, he's not on the twisted sister video. The father you're talking about is a character called Doug Neidermeyer from the comedy "Animal House" highly suggest you watch the movie. John Belushi also stared in this movie and it's hilarious.
I blew out my moms stereo speakers in 83' when this released. The neighbors were glad that stopped it.
The original lyrics is "girls f*** your boys" which was played on the radio in early 80's until they changed it.
I have always loved this cover .Great reaction
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell " In the midnight hour, she cried, "More, more, more"
With a rebel yell, she cried, "More, more, more," wow!
In the midnight hour, babe, "More, more, more"
With a rebel yell, "More, more, more
The producer wanted them to do this song.... the lead singer hated Slade and didn't want to do it. He finally agreed to do one take. He then got with the band to screw up the song. But they played it right and he dad to sing it right because he didn't want to be the only one screwing the song up..... It became their biggest hit.
100% accurate.🤟😝
In the 70s it was Slade v Sweet in the UK , Slade have so many hits like this ,they would have concord America but Dave Hill got terribly ill
Oh snap. So looking forward to the Juice Newton video being set to public. She had her hits as I was transitioning from Country music to Top40/Rock.
Late 70’s, Hiram Bithorn Stadium
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Quiet Riot opening for Peter Frampton
This song is a cober of a 70s hard rock english band Slade. They were very popular in England. After years of trying to make a dent in the USA, they finally became popular because of this cover. Slade had a top ten song called Run Run Away and another hit called My Oh My. Check them out.
Randy Rhoads was originally the guitarist in the band before being recruited by Ozzy Osbourne
Saw Quiet Riot opening for Black Sabbath in 1983 in Toronto.
The late great Randy Rhoads was their guitar player before he joined Ozzy.
Thats new for me... Thanks for sharing
@@randomhockeyguy9149 - you are correct.
Wow that took me back to high school. This was the beginning of metal being played on the radio.
OZZY's lead guitarist for his first two solo albums was Randy Rhodes. Rhodes was originally lead guitarist and co-founder of Quiet Riot.
Man oh man I miss Randy Rhoads! What a LEGEND! Can you say "RIFT" man was he GREAT! Dang plane wreck took one of my favorites!
I 13 yrs old living in Rockport, Tx when this came out... hahaha
Ahhh the good ol days!!!
As a teen when this came out, We always sang girls GRAB the boys 😊
Slade all the way 🇬🇧❤
Quiet Riot's singer Kevin Dubrow died of a drug overdose.
This song was originally done by the hard rock group Slade and they charted in 1973 and Quiet Riot done the cover and it charted in 1983.
Slade were not happy with the "attempt"of the cover version!!
I remember this song came out in my freshman year of highschool in the early eighties. Lololol 😂
QR was the first metal band to hit number 1 on the billboard charts bumping Michael Jackson Thriller from the number 1 spot. That was 1983 I think
Takes me back to my early 20s playing this on a juke box in a bar🎉
In my teenager years Rocked this thing first #1 hard Rock album. Cruzin, in my Black Trans-Am in the 80s
Absolutely LOVE this song and Band!
Slade originally sang this song. Also Quiet Riot was partially form by Randy Rhoads of Ozzy fame. I swear that last "girls rock your boys" is actually girl F your boys....its how I always sang the entire song anyways as a teen.
This is popular at sporting events back in the day and they still probably play this
Quiet Riot singer Kevin DuBrow died in 2007 from a overdose. His brother Terry is a famous plastic surgeon in California and he's on the TV reality show Botched.
Slade, one of the best bands during the 70's glam rock era. This is a cover of a Slade hit.
Rebel Yell by Billy Idol, they chant "More, more, more".
Damn others beat me to it!
But yeah, the more more more is most likely from Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell"
Great content as always!
The bassist Rudy also played with Ozzy in the 80s
