    GOAF was a blast. I was camped next to Colorado Chris (I'm KLX Chris) and met y'all there one of the days or nights. It was such a great event that I hope to see y'all out there again next year!

      KLX Chris! Great meeting you out there and hanging a bit.
      I'm on the fence about South Dakota ADV Fest. It's closer, and more 'dirt' than sand...so that's a plus for me.
      Are thinking if hitting SD ADV Fest at all?

      @@exploready I am thinking about it for next year but not this year due to pre-planned vacations. If I had known I'd have had that much fun I would have kept an extra week of vacation in reserve. Please go and post videos, and then come back to Mojave next year!

      @@joethompson297 Hey Joe! I think what we experienced was a KLX Cluster, a rare astronomical alignment where 3 KLXs are within a certain range and have to go out and tear up the terrain. It's a rare event only witnessed by a select few utterly manly men in the wilds of the desert.

    How are you liking the dual venture front and rally rear tire? Any front end wobble? Haven't seen any updates since your tire video, looking for new tires for my Tuareg.

      Great question! I’m almost through this set.
      I ran the combo without the steering stabilizer for a little bit. The DV up front handled interstate speeds better than the RallZ for me, but I still didn’t love the feedback I was getting from the front end.
      It’s entirely possible that I was ultra sensitive to the slightest feedback from the front end…but I heard the same complaints from a friend who rode my bike.
      My suspension is set for my riding weight, as far as preload goes. And I’m using the factory settings for compression and rebound.
      Once this set is done, I have a full set of RallZ (front and rear) that I’ll be putting on to test out again and see how the steering stabilizer softens out any feedback.
      One last observation, the DV can be flip-flopped to get more miles. For me, it’s not super practical to do that, but I should have…could have gotten more miles.
      So, short story long, the DV in the front was better than the RallZ, but I still had enough sensations from the front end that I added a GPR.

      @@exploready how many miles are on this set? I might try the new dunlop trailmaxx raid instead of the motoz.

    • @exploready
      @exploready  Год назад +1

      @@nscott26 I've been trying to find some of my documentation on when this set went on.
      The best estimate I have right now is that I have 4955 miles on the set.
      The front are cupped pretty good...which could have been prevented by swapping their direction, but I just didn't get to it.

    How did you like the Taureg?

    • @exploready
      @exploready  Год назад

      If I had to do it all over again, I would absolutely buy the Tuareg again. Every time I've been on it, I've felt like I've really gotten to know the bike more and more. It's my more off-road biased bike, where the Pan America is more on-road biased...
      I'm just at 5k miles now (will be doing a 5k mile review soon), but my experience has been very positive. I also did a vid on why I purchased the Tuareg over other middle-weight ADV bikes (ruclips.net/video/EaPS5Ex4Uis/видео.html).
      Everything in ADV is a compromise (bike size, tires, wind protection, etc, etc, etc...). If you have a good idea on bike size you're interested in, then the Tuareg is a great choice. Though, we're lucky to have so many really great choices in bikes, not sure too many of them would be bad...
      Ride safe!

    • @rookietrucker1240
      @rookietrucker1240 Год назад

      @@exploready Thanks, I've been on full dressers the last 25 years. Just sold my HD looking for a middleweight ADV bike for Appalachia riding. I bought a Gasgas 350 4 stroke for the dirt riding with the grand kids. I like the Norden 901 but it might be a little tall for me, 32 inch inseam. Ride safe

    • @exploready
      @exploready  Год назад

      @@rookietrucker1240 I'm about the same inseam (5'10" - 32"-ish inseam). The Tuareg's ergos fit me really well. No need for risers. The stock pegs are pretty good (I removed the rubber, but that's preference). And I feel fine riding the bike fully-loaded or 1-up, as far as reach to the ground goes.
      At 450-ish lbs, it's lighter than a full-size bike, but it does lay pretty flat when it drops (not as bad as a Pan Am ;).
      Good luck with your search!
