Inspired by a reel posted by @pariswithab ( ... ), I too wanted to create something with the feeling of Christopher Nolan's batman.
I sent the reel to @soularte_ ( ...) along with my idea. We decided not to sit on it, and to start making it happen.
A day passes and we set out at 4:30am to shoot this short feature with roughly a 10hr turn around from pre production the night before, a quick nap, shooting, and export the day of shooting.
At this time, we had a finished product that was ready to go, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the opening drone shots and thought they would be a lot cooler at night when we could see the lights on inside the building.
Even though we had a finished product, we went back on location to reshoot the opening shots. If you saw our story posts, you know what happened next.
When landing the drone, it suddenly malfunctioned, stopped responding to my input, and flew full speed into a building, rammed it three times, then finally plummeted 20ft down onto the concrete sidewalk.
Right at the beginning of the night, the drone and our spirits were destroyed.
But hey, we made this!
And we plan on making more.

Nah this is way too busy for Nolan. Cinematic were too loud and messy.

This wasn't meant to really copy Nolan, but rather draw inspiration from his Dark Knight series. Mostly with location and color.

It is too fast paced for Nolan however the colour grading is on point. Also the dolly zoom looks really good. What drone was it shot on?

Thank you! Color was the main thing I was going for with this project. Pacing can definitely use some work. I appreciate the feedback!
I used the DJI Mavic Air 2 for this project.
We actually went back on location to reshoot the opening drone shots at night when the drone malfunctioned, stopped responding to my input, and flew itself into a building :(
It's currently at DJI in Texas to be assessed, hopefully they will help me out.

@@ArtYari_ The mavic air 2. Such a nice camera. Sorry to hear about the crash. DJI makes some great products but I very rarley hear about malfunctions so its unfortunate you got one. Especially into a building! Hopefully they will fix it soon. Look forward to seeing more projects 👏
