This game is clearly about how life is more about interconnectivity and transfer of energy than the hyper-idealized, 'made for consumption' product modern day love has become. When the little plug beings can't attain mutually recognizable 'love', or connection, through verbal negotiation they opt to physically join. While this doesn't offer a permanent solution it's offer's intimacy during their connection. It doesn't stop with one partner and other plug beings witness their epiphany and long to join. Polygamy and orgy ensue. The human-plug centipede represents death and rebirth and perhaps orgasm. It's a dual message of energy connectivity and sexuality...effectively bridging the gap between both while taking ideology out of the equation.

Warning: I may have gotten too emotionally invested and kiiinda written a full three paragraph essay on the symbolism in the game. proceed at your own risk of boredom. As Mark so... astutely pointed out there's a lot of sexual innuendos but I think they serve an important role. I feel like this game is commenting on intimacy and the emotions attached. In some of the scenes characters must be altered to reach the connection, change or lose parts of themselves or alter the situation they are in. One particular bit that got to me was the scene being displayed at roughly 10:45 and 11:11 - using the outlets to represent male and female counterparts- the first connection shown is between the male from the left and the female from the left. Another female is introduced on the left, and the connection needed is not the original pairing but the two on the left, leaving the female on the right alone for the moment. When we return to the scene, a fourth outlet is added, a male on the right to complete the connection that remained incomplete after the last puzzle. While originally the connection between the left male and right female worked and was right in that particular situation, that "relationship" served its purpose, and in the end they are not connected at all to reach the best suited outcome. Similarly, sometimes it is difficult to acknowledge when a relationship has run its course, to accept after a breakup that the relationship may have been what was right at that moment but the situation has changed and that "connection" is no longer the best outcome. But I love Mark yelling "IS THIS SUPPOSED TO MEAN ANY- OH GOD"
A man in an abusive relationship with a woman, she hits him and pushes him and manipulates him, but he thinks he loves her so he allows this. Then she leaves him, as she dose not really loves him. The man becomes depressed and uses sex and drugs to full the void. He tries to use his memory of his girlfriend, (the finger) to preserve what they had. But eventually, he moves on with his life and the memory (finger) goes limp, thus no longer works.
My guess is that it's about finding ways to be turned on as the normal way doesn't seem to cut it anymore. Finding love has become hard because your other just rejects your love, so when you search for alternative means, you find yourself still not happy. You remember being in love once, you two were so close, it was like being tied by a wire, but things happen. In the end, you just have to go out the front door and accept life for the way it is for the only route of happiness is in yourself and it is your job to turn yourself on.

This game is a metaphor of sex and how some people don't wanna be part of that life. As the title tells me, people "plug" into others and "play" with them. Some don't want to be part of a world where they have to be with just one person (the two who are attached to one wire). They want to play with life and others, so they constantly switch between lovers. They feel as though lust and love are one in the same (I love you, I dont think you love me). And the one at the end realizes this, and instead of "loving" another person, they go off because they rather not get stuck in the rut that everyone else is in. And I'm pretty sure the finger is just an innuendo for a boner; you can be turned on or off.

Glad to see another person in the comments discussing the meaning of the game instead of saying "WTF?!?!?! Why did I watch this!" lol. I think it's about sex, obviously. But more so how the more you have sex irresponsibly, the more you want. Warning: I may have gotten too emotionally invested and kiiinda written a full three paragraph essay on the symbolism in the game. proceed at your own risk of boredom.
As Mark so... astutely pointed out there's a lot of sexual innuendos but I think they serve an important role. I feel like this game is commenting on intimacy and the emotions attached. In some of the scenes characters must be altered to reach the connection, change or lose parts of themselves or alter the situation they are in.
One particular bit that got to me was the scene being displayed at roughly 10:45 and 11:11 - using the outlets to represent male and female counterparts- the first connection shown is between the male from the left and the female from the left. Another female is introduced on the left, and the connection needed is not the original pairing but the two on the left, leaving the female on the right alone for the moment. When we return to the scene, a fourth outlet is added, a male on the right to complete the connection that remained incomplete after the last puzzle.
While originally the connection between the left male and right female worked and was right in that particular situation, that "relationship" served its purpose, and in the end they are not connected at all to reach the best suited outcome. Similarly, sometimes it is difficult to acknowledge when a relationship has run its course, to accept after a breakup that the relationship may have been what was right at that moment but the situation has changed and that "connection" is no longer the best outcome.

This game is a metaphor of sex and how some people don't wanna be part of that life. As the title tells me, people "plug" into others and "play" with them. Some don't want to be part of a world where they have to be with just one person (the two who are attached to one wire). They want to play with life and others, so they constantly switch between lovers. They feel as though lust and love are one in the same (I love you, I dont think you love me). And the one at the end realizes this, and instead of "loving" another person, they go off because they rather not get stuck in the rut that everyone else is in. And I'm pretty sure the finger is just an innuendo for a boner; you can be turned on or off.
