Do you make them this big? I am confused on the name. I want to go have a lady who does machine embroidery put my grandkids name's on them. I am confused which side to have the names done.
Stocking did not even enter my mind, I ran across your video, and you made it look so easy and fun. Now I'm on my way to the fabric store. Thank you, I will check out your other videos.
I just making my stockings. Love this pattern! I used Liberty of London Christmas fabrics and they turned out so pretty! I viewed several stocking videos and yours is the one I chose. It is so detailed, and each step is broken down to easily understand. Thanks for the pattern and every thing you do!
I watched several videos on stockings but this was the first one that made me brave enough to cut into my great grandmothers quilt and get busy on my stockings. Thank you for also showing sewing clips. I can sew but it gave me confidence to go for it.
This tutorial saved me today! I was stuck on another patterns instructions for the lining and cuff and stocking. You make this so easy! I love your channel !
I will probably do that too. I made about 11 of these this year....flannels and fun patterns. Added embroidery for the "quilting" and I am in love with these!
This pattern is so amazing. We appreciate it so much. I’ve made maybe 10 of them. One for each person in my house and a couple for my nephews. Thank you so much for it ❤
I found this tutorial yesterday. The project as displayed and written works great. After I made my first one this morning I made my second one using my serger as much as I could; that worked great. To further cut down on time I used my Brother Scan 'N Cut to cut out all the pattern pieces.
Wow after watching u I believe I can actually make xmas stockings for all my 13 grandkids...U took all the guess work out of it. I would have made them totally different. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for the pattern. I was able to make my stockings. I had to turn it the other direction because I like the toe pointing to the left. Great tutorial!
This is an awesome tutorial. I created a similar stocking myself years ago and only make new ones as grandkids, spouses are added to the family. Because I don't make it every year, and never wrote down how I made it, I spend a lot of time rethinking how to create it. This tutorial lays out each step beautifully!! Even though I really don't need a stocking this year, I feel like I just want to make this following your tutorial. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Happy holidays!!
I love the stockings. I also love the fabric. I havent seen fabric that looks like a newspaper or magazine before, at least not in my local fabric store. . Thx for sharing.
I followed this tutorial and made a stocking tonight for an 11 year old who looooves purple and teal :). It was so easy (even for a beginner) and it came out great!
Thank you for your super 👌 video and I love all your stockings, it was very clear and easy to follow, I can’t wait to have a go at making one for my grandchildren xx
This is the best pattern! I made one for a friend last Christmas and loaded it with kitchen utensils and it is a great size for really nice items. Beautiful tutorial and really good instructions make for a beautiful stocking! Thank you!
Erica this pattern is the best. I made 9 of these for Christmas and everyone loved them & had their names embroidered on them and bedazzled them. I added an inch to the top of the lining so they fit the toe after leaving an inch at top for show. You are awesome girl!!
This tutorial is amazing and so easy to understand. I am a beginner and this is not intimidating at all, but looks so high quality and cute! I can't wait till this weekend to take my kids to pick out what fabric they want for their stockings!
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I am new to sewing but found that your tutorial was easy to follow and gave me the confidence I needed to make these as gifts for my family. Thank you again!
I just made stocking #1 of 8 and it turned out beautifully. Thank you SO much, Erica! I'm still a beginner, and I keep looking at it and thinking, "Wow, I can't believe I made that!" 😂 Thank you for the great pattern and wonderful tutorial. On to #2!
Thank you Erica. Your tutorials really easy to understand. Thank you for taking the time to help all of us beginners. (and anticipating what we're going to ask!) have a great weekend!
The house is too cute! I have leftover fabric from making my family’s Christmas quilt- your “Vintage Christmas” pattern- and it would be super cute to make some stocking pillows to go with it. Thanks for the video!
I’m glad i found your channel. This is. Great tutorial. I need to make a cute stocking for my brand new grandson and it needs to be done fast. Thanks for this and I’ll watch your bag tutorials as well. I swear I can do the most intricate teeny applique all day, every day but when it comes to making a bag, I get things so messed up it isn’t even funny! I have 3 bags cut out and ready to go so hopefully I’ll get some good tips and finish those up!
Hi Erica so excited going to try and make these beautiful stockings for my granddaughters, never sewn before just go a machine and overlocker for the first time .. fingers crossed. thank you
My nieces and nephews still have many of the Christmas stockings their grandmother made for them starting during the bicentennial. She only stopped when (13 & under) grandchildren & great grandchildren numbered 34. Quite a bit got lost during moves and one house fire though. I just wish I had labeled names and dates on the hanging ribbon/bias tape before handing them out. 🎄🎄🎄
too cute!!! I want to make it SO BADLY but unfortunately I don't have any of the materials and during the COVID-19 crisis...yeah. But once I can I am definitely going to make it!!!! Awesome tutorial!!!
It was harder to cut out the shapes the same than I thought 😅, think I will use a cardstock cutout next time instead of paper. kept accidentally cutting the paper. fusible fleece is a good idea too next try. glad this first one was just a test. beautiful pattern ❤
Perfect timing! I was just thinking about how I want to make my own stocking this year, but had no idea how to go about doing it. Thank you for making this easy to understand.
Erica, one can tell you are a teacher. This is by far one of the best tutorials I have ever seen, not only for this Christmas stocking but any sewing project. No, this is the best tutorial I have ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us. I will be making several stockings this year. Be assured, I am subscribing to your RUclips channel. :)
Hi Im Pattie. first time on your channel. thank you so much for the pattern. you were easy to fallow. Now I can make these for my family. very grateful.
Finally!!! A tutorial with a pattern. This was fun and easy to make for a beginner. I just shared your tutorial on a beginner sewing page on Facebook after all the rave reviews on this stocking. Keep up the good work!! :)
I’ve made a lot (over 30!} of your stocking, and they’re great. One thing I did wrong….many times….I mixed up where to embroider the name! Upside down, or in the wrong spot….I’ve had to toss more cuffs than anything else. This year I need to make several more…I’m sure I’ll do it AGAIN! Thank you for the pattern - and for the excellent tutorial!
I love how adorable this stocking is! I have everything needed to complete this. I think I should get this sewed up in time for Christmas. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial.
Thanks so much! These are all Sweetwater Fabrics for Moda. They always do fun Christmas collections, this one is mostly Holly's Tree Farm, but there are others in there as well :)
This pattern and video are nice but when I sat down to make these I experienced several flaws that cost me a bit of fabric as well as time. I didn't get the clean edge on the cuff, I had to add an extra step. Also the size of the cuff didn't correlate with the rest of the stocking and had to be adjusted. Once I'd made some changes though, it turned out great :)
Thank you so much, needed to find out how to make one as I have some Christmas material already shaped in a stocking, so going to quilt and make it up. Will check out your quilting techniques too.
Thank you so much for sharing this!!! I am a beginner, but your tutorial makes me feel like I can actually make this in time for Christmas for my daughter. Thank you!!!! This is awesome
Yes!!! So ironic you'd publish this tutorial, I was literally just searching for one over the weekend, and I so love your instructions. :0) Thanks so much
Tip: Add a Jingle Bell and tie a Bow in the center of your cuff as you create the running stitch around the cuff. Begin & end the stitching in the center, add the jingle bell to both ends and tie a double knot Bow to secure.
This is a great tutorial. I just made 4 tonight! I did have to shorten the cuff to 17 inches, so I didn't have a bunch of puckering. Other than that, it's perfect!
I was wondering if you can just sew your lining to the inside of the stocking before you sew them together? That way you don't have to try and turn the liner. Just a thought
Love this. I’ve made over 35!!!! from this pattern!!! 10 adults, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and all their pets! Thank you!
You've been busy!!!
Do you make them this big? I am confused on the name. I want to go have a lady who does machine embroidery put my grandkids name's on them. I am confused which side to have the names done.
Used thin batting, different fabrics, and a fur cuff but this tutorial was so easy to follow along even with the different fabrics! Thanks!!
Stocking did not even enter my mind, I ran across your video, and you made it look so easy and fun. Now I'm on my way to the fabric store. Thank you, I will check out your other videos.

Thanks for the pattern. I was able to make my stockings. I had to turn it the other direction because I like the toe pointing to the left. Great tutorial!

These stockings are the cutest I've seen! I hope I can make them for my two granddaughters.... I will have to buy a sewing machine first😂🤣

Thanks so much! These are all Sweetwater Fabrics for Moda. They always do fun Christmas collections, this one is mostly Holly's Tree Farm, but there are others in there as well :)
Great stocking video. To protect my iron from getting sticky fusible on it...I use a small piece of Parchment Paper. Give it a try.🐝
Great idea!
I love this easy design!
Hi I'm sorry you're having troubles, if you have specific questions feel free to email me and hopefully I can help!

Tip: Add a Jingle Bell and tie a Bow in the center of your cuff as you create the running stitch around the cuff. Begin & end the stitching in the center, add the jingle bell to both ends and tie a double knot Bow to secure.
Oh cute idea!
This is a great tutorial. I just made 4 tonight! I did have to shorten the cuff to 17 inches, so I didn't have a bunch of puckering. Other than that, it's perfect!
Yes, I had that issue too, but thought I fixed the measurements! I'll go back and double check thanks for your comment!
I had puckering also.. I just figured (mine) would be like that I will fix it in future stockings..
Really detailed & very helpful. Thanks alot for this video.
I was wondering if you can just sew your lining to the inside of the stocking before you sew them together? That way you don't have to try and turn the liner. Just a thought
I just found this tutorial! I’m so excited to try it!
Just the tutorial I was looking for. Good job and thank you!
