Literally many of my "training" experiences, not from managers, but from my colleagues. You know how it is, management talks "we just hired a guy with like 10+yrs experience in X different restaurants, he's gonna be great." And they hear that and their ego kicks in and they want to see if you've really got cooking skills. This was my experience at Twisted Root Burger Co. I was just thrown on the line for the entirety of my training just showed the meats, the menu, the cooking equipment, that's it. I was like "Man I'm on my 3rd day, I still haven't learned any of the prep." He was like "Look we heard you can cook, so I wanted to see if it was true. Good news, you can COOK. Don't worry about the prep man, it's honestly really easy, you're gonna pick it up quick. You're already doing the hardest part."

All roads point to bad management, everywhere.
