It's a decent job (I guess) but I wouldn't recommend staying there for long time. Hours are usually terrible and a shift can last like 11-12 hours if working full - time. If you really have to work there ask manager if it's possible to work ~20-30 hours a week. Be on time for interview, ask some questions (even if you don't care that much about that store) and 99.99% that they will hire you.
Depending on which grocery store you work at, you can make good money if you move up. I work at a Hyvee in Minnesota and the average salary for a department manager is around $60k. If you’re valuable to them, they’ll continue to pay you more.

there is no communication between managers and the lower employees. each shift will do different things and not communicate with the others... then night shift usually fucks everything up if they choose to do anything at all. your day will consist (if your a grocery clerk) unloading trucks of pallets, breaking down those pallets onto "U-Boats" mostly store brand stuff atleast my store you will only fill water isle, paper isle and some goya. you will work the freezer (fucking sucks) and will do dairy also. basically the grocery clerk is the worker bee of the store you will work everything when things needs to be done milk, eggs, freezer, store brand goods , water, paper towels/ napkins. store brand soda etc.. you then will load trucks with empty pallets and plastic . you will be showing customers where items are even if its not your designated zone. you will be asked to check the back for something even when you know its not back there or you have nothing back there for the sole purpose of customer service . you will break down boxes and put them in the bale , after the bale gets filled to a certain level you will take wires and create a bale brick to put onto the truck. you will do this every day. same shit everyday. you will eat chicken that comes from the deli or a sandwhich from the deli and some candy maybe or cookies as a snack everyday unless you pack your own lunch. if you work 8 hours you get a half hour lunch you must clock out for. anything below 8 hours you get a 15 min break that you dont need to clock out for. the job fucking sucks and you do more then what your asked to do and are payed for. Its a good first job for highschool kids and maybe someone whos been a fuck up most of their teens / young adult hood and just needs a job to get a start into the workforce. as for a career i couldnt imagine doing this shit day in and day out. schedules are never the same unless youve worked there for a few years and are part of the union. thats the other thing. the guys thats been there 10 years plus and are in the union will never show up and when they do they are lazy, they know they will get a paycheck either way. Its an hourly job so my advice is to work but dont work hard and dont be lazy , just go at a chill pace, take your time breaking down the boxes, take your time going to the bale, take your time putting the boxes in the bale. if you over work yourself they will expect you to work like that all the time.

I am much happier working in warehouses than grocery stores. I worked at a Sprouts for six weeks and the job sucked. Store manager really unapproachable, department manager was a micromanager, and my assistant department manager was quite unpleasant towards me. Got way too little hours. I've had overtime in multiple warehouses that pay the same or more per hour than what Sprouts paid me. I kept my mouth shut about what I really thought of those three managers when I worked there. Assistant store manager was a super nice guy. I have it so much better in warehouses. No pressure from any random person walking in the building wanting to buy stuff or talk to me.

Bro, you forgot the MOST important thing people need to know - almost all customers are 3 year olds (doesn't matter if they're 50 y/o or smth), so you'll need to work on your patience for answering stupid questions. Also, they blame you for everything, inflations, not enough space, not enough products. Just remind yourself, that they don't know what it's like working there, so be gentle with them
There’s always difficult customers. Me personally as a customer I have never once spoken to store employees unless if there is a malfunction at the self checkout and it’s usually a brief 2 seconds interaction

Even my boss got under my skin and accusing me of patronizing him, while I was trying to be nice. I'm thinking to myself, "wtf?" I quit that job six months later. Overall, to hell with that job, I'm glad I'm out of their. Nowadays, I have a job working at local Middle school, in the food nutrition department. It's hard work but I love it. And the pays worth it too and been working there since 2016 😎

I was not on the right medication at the grocery store job and other jobs. I was basically on resperdal a sedating medicine. Sedating tranquilizers are different then non sedating tranquilizers. Eventually you will become to sedated with the tranquilizers and they will lower your medication too much then you will have a relapse. That is why it is important to get on a non sedating medicine if you decide to go back to work.
U have to ask for more hours
The ending was absolutely hilarious 😂
I am going to use your technique for getting into the right head space before entering my job tomorrow morning.
I work at sprouts as well and that cocaine story is the epitome of what it’s like to work at sprouts. But I’m leaving the company within the next month after 4 and a half years
Store 409 baby
Oh god, seeing that sprouts shirt is just giving me ptsd lol. glad to see another sproutie brother out there
I am much happier working in warehouses than grocery stores.
This is hilarious 😆 I applied for a Grocery Clerk position something to fill in my mornings. I’m not sure if it works like that but hope I can get the job. I’m going to not show them my asshole side until after the hiring 😂 Great video
I’ve been at sprouts almost 2 months now. I work in produce and I like it.
I just applied four weeks ago for night stock and I go for second interview tommorow wish me luck hope all goes good
Did you get hired
you not gonna answer man’s question
I just saw this question and yeah I got hired working somewhere else now did not pop up on my RUclips for some reason

Anyone who gets a job at a grocery store I would recommend working for the following departments.
Dairy, frozen, grocery, or produce.
Grocery is best
@@Sarah_Kinz hey!, what does the grocery department consist of?
Dairy and frozen is a part of the grocery department
@@JoseGonzalez-tk3cn pretty much opening boxes and putting cans of beans and shit on the shelves
I also work in a grocery store as a trolley porter here in Capetown South Africa
Gonna be my first day, and first time working at a job, i'll be working at a grocery store/ Home depo sort of place called (Rona)
how was it?
@@anastafford it was pretty good, it was more like volunteer work actually. Now i have a really good looking Resume now : )
Been there done that
Hated Bagging-Wet Spills
Loved Bakery-Sweeping
Don’t work at one anymore
Do have my bestie/good friends at my old workplace and can’t wait to visit them in August of this year since I now live on the east coast
(Used to be employed at Safeway in Oregon)
Very informative. I’ll be sure to look out for part 2
Ur channels gonna get big someday if u keep this quality up
Lol 😝
I am currently working at a grocery store and might go to warehouse force but it’s an okay job ,do not think your gonna be there forever ,just say temporary,I am working while going to school and excited to one day leave ,the people that I work with are rude ,i am great with the people who has been working there forever and the teens but not the people who has been there for a while,i am just racking my hours
I started working at Aldi 3 days ago. I worked fast food for 10 years.. I think I prefer fast food.
i love this video thank you i am considering quitting by job and applying to a grocery store
Got hired on the spot for the cashier position for sprouts, so now I'm here to prepare myself lmao
Your store needs to be a reality show on cable. I'm intrigued. Lol
This made my day the ending 😭😂
lmao i had no idea this was gonna be some synchronicity shit. perfect timing. yo i just got a job there im in the grocery department. is that mostly what your doing is inventory control/stocking/refacing shit/breaking down boxes and cleaning routines
This video was amazing! Well done!😂
BRO!! this video is diamond tier! lmao
crazy how i now know what to do when I work at a grocery store
Thanks, I’m looking to start working at Food City soon, and this has really helped me.
This is hilarious and well done. How do u not have many views
Dude I gotta know more about the managers impregnating the employees! I worked at a Sprouts (planning to go back) and this is interesting
the g. o. a. t. posts again🔥
What happens when you need more change for the register??? 😳
Who do you call? What if no one can help? What the heck am I supposed to do?
alrighty then! Wish me luck tryin' to get a job in a grocery store!
I also work at Sprouts, I’m tired of how they treat us
I do too. You are NOT alone! Horrific company full of liars and manipulators. I've been there 3 years now and will be retiring in six months. Can't wait. So sick of the crap I see going on daily...
Amazing video skills
hahaha yes indeed love that ending hahah. Spilling all the grocery store's tea on the floor sir.
My God man your so damn funny this is what it looks like in the microwave in the break room getting everything angel I respect that
I'm sure that it totally depends on where you work. I despise being a produce manager in a store that's understaffed; limited to 39 hours and there are days every week where I clock out and volunteer time just to keep up. Their answer, work faster.
I don't want to say how long I've been a grocer (make any comments you want, I've made them all)
But even I can't believe I keep going back. The perks would never come close to outweighing all the bullshit. From dogshit coworkers to management to head office, it's the same thing every day...bullshit
Lousy pay, poor scheduling and don't even get me started on the customers.
I could keep going but I'm already getting angry, and I start work soon so, later
Got hired in a grocery store today! Interview was terrifying, because im 14 and its my first job. I was one of the only ones who solicited but I love that store so I feel like ill like it
You got yourself a new subscriber. You are hilarious!
Your storytelling is like the guy In the Ant Man movie 😂 I love it
I’m dead asf I just got hired at sprouts too this helped hella I’ll be working as a grocery clerk
Don’t stay to long working at Sprouts it sucks
Need an update on this job..cuz the pay looks really good.
@@lolabang7091 It’s only good for a short time job , you will definitely get tired of working there because Sprouts is not good with time management also they will take advantage of you if they ask you to cover other people shift
@@lolabang7091 Don’t work in the deli or bakery department or grocery because people who get hired in those positions don’t stay for more than 3 months but co workers are cool people
Bro i hope you left that place. Working there sucks.
My interview is on Monday! Wish me luck!
You Are Funny!!! And Thanks for the insights!
I’m 16 (almost 17) with no job experience but trying to get a job here. Hopefully its as easy as you say in that interview! But I’m preparing anyways

If you do find a job that you enjoy and want to come to work each day/night tasks to keep your own sanity intact and a best friend to hang out with there
(Courtesy Clerk is the worst cause all you’re doing is cleaning besides the bagging of the groceries/carry outs /carts I did that job for 18 years so I know what I’m saying)

"this is what it's like being inside the microwave in the break room". Killed me! 🤣😅
My neck of the woods I used to parcel pick-up at GIANT in my neck of the woods. It was my first job after I graduating from high school. But from my experience, it was a shitty job - making me do several tests two or three people could do at once, let alone keeping up with the carts, I worked my ass off their minimum wages sucked ass and they never lived up to their promises in raising my pay rate.
And the pays worth it too and been working there since 2016 😎
I’m deddd I work at sprouts too 🪦
Wait what some questions they ask yo
U are a great story teller 😂
Heres a tip for retail just do what meets the quota dont over work cause in retail 90% of your coworkers are lazy and will take advantage of you working hard which means more hours no raise and you’re expected to do everyones slack. Just do the minimum you are required trust me you dont want to be a slave for others
1 tip: invest in a pair of kneepads. It makes getting low easier, and you save your knees unnecessary strain/wear and tear!
does anyone have any advice for a day stocker? I never really worked in a grocery store before and I mainly was a cook for a couple of years. My new job is gonna have me for 8 hrs a day, (Vons) and idk what to expect or do lmao
I’m assuming you have done this for a while now, Do you got any advice?
@@gbombmr6125 get yourself some gloves and don’t risk getting cut or anything bc of it.
you’ll mainly get sore if the store you work at makes you pull them from trucks, so just a heads up
@@alantristam9654 thanks
@@gbombmr6125 don’t risk getting hurt in order to get things done on time! And from that, don’t be afraid making mistakes, I ended breaking like 3 pallets of juice and soda bc I got too nervous and let it break in the truck. Finally, be positive at work, it helps everyone out compared to everyone being mad and stubborn at work, nobody likes working with a pissed off or stubborn coworker. Good luck !
