I’m actually happy they went with the concept art purple because it makes him look more like his beast wars design
This is definitely replacing my Kingdom Scorponok. But I'll be using the kingdom one for the scorpion mode only. 😂
does kinda ruin the mass hoard vibe from the movie but we all know this is gonna get like 50 reapints

He actually kinda looks like a movie verse scorponok with those colors ( beast wars)
It does have a predacon faction symbol
Not a lot of people like this figure but I think it’s pretty fun

@@nameloss mine wasn’t as loose as toyguys but it was still a little loose, I think it’s on most copy’s tho because my friend also have it
I remember there originally was a Scorponok combiner planned to appear in the final battle of ROTB, I think even some renders or at least concept arts exist.

I love how his robot head is also his beast head, that is genius, as it saves having to integrate a second head into the robot mode

I know it’s a long-shot, but I really hope they do a solo Beast Wars movie. We need more screen-time of the Maximals’ robot modes, and we need more live-action Predacons!

the bit where his robot mode hands slide into his shoulders to form the scorpion claws is genuinely one of the most satisfying bits of transformation ive had hands on experience with. like shit it's just so smooth
This is awesome the only reason people don't like it is because they don't like scorponok 😅 also do y'all think this would be perfect if it became a voyager cause I feel like this would be really fun in voyager scale

Youre really right about the stock photos not doing this guy justice. The whip looked so dumb there, but it looks fantastic in hand. For a character that never transformed in the film, the posing is fire. I'm definitely grabbing a couple when i find them

i love this guy, he’s such a freakshow in all the right ways. i grew up with the 07 deluxe as one of my favourite transformers, and this is a worthy successor i think.
I recently found your channel and im really enjoying your reviews on modern and old Transformer figures . I am really enjoying your "Unicron Trilogy " toy reviews in particular.
I really enjoyed the intro it went more bomb that Oppenheimer with that track
Personally, the robot mode for Scorponok reminds me of Scorponok from RID 2015 with the way that his beast mode claws end up on his shoulders in robot mode and that he keeps his scorpion tail in both modes.
I honestly adore this design for Scorponok, even if he's just a mass-produced soldier. If they had made him an actual character in ROTB, with this design, it would have been awesome.
Man those double jointed shoulders and that wrist articulation look incredibly good. :o

seeing the predacon insignia on his back just made me really happy for some reason, probably because there weren't any predacons in the movie, was really hoping to see live action waspinator
they were cut because they didn't make sense for the story

Dang, I did not expect that to look so good
2007 deluxe is still a lot of fun, with a neat and functional scorpion mode. Update looks a lot more organic than mechanical, and a lot scarier. Props for a decent/articulate bot even though it uses the same head in both configurations. The muted colors feel very close to the upcoming concept art Shockwave which isn't bad could just be bit more vibrant. Still looks like a worthwhile, and fun SS pickup.
Huh? This is based on ROTB Scorponok, and also what concept art Shockwave? The only upcoming Shockwave is based on his actual appearance in the Bumblebee Movie..

This does look like a lot of fun, and I intend to get it, but I'm also kinda gutted that I was never able to find the Buzzworthy one you have where I am, because that would have made an awesome conversion into Pincher...
Can’t wait to get mine, hope they repaint this a couple of times so I can build a small army of scorponoks, can’t believe that’s something I want to do with scorponok lol
There's 3 different colours in the film and they all have names on their concept art so hopefully!!

I love the G1 Insecticon colours, which is why I've bought him.
Out of the box and the purple feet came off. Ball joints. Arrrrrrrrrrgh.
Is 2023-2024 just turning into a golden age for concise and surprising engineering? Even with figures that I dislike for various reasons, I have found bits of the transformation that are just delightful and surprising.
I love how the 2 scorponoks in the mainline are to scale with this guys scorpion mode

When he was first shown i didint know for shit how his hands transform, i was like "where does the claws end UP in his sholder??"

Wasn't too interested in this figure buy I am a lot more interested now! That articulation and posing looks superb and I love the 07 movie references, but I adore that paint scheme. The navy blue and the lavender looks so good together, and is actually a color unlike the Maximals. It would be so cool if those SS maximal golds got repainted, with some red, white, and blue on Primal, gold and white on a grey Airazor, baby blue or purple a yellow Cheetor, and green on a brown Rhinox.

Kinda sucks that this scorponok isn't like the beast wars character and it's just a mindless henchman for unicron. But then again, we had him in the 2007 movie that was kinda a minicon like robot from blackout and not like the giant decepticon from g1.🦂🚁😓😔
He wasn’t purple in the movie, and this figure also has gold on the chest, so the figure is more a mashup of the Beast Wars character with the mindless Unicron army. You could therefore head-canon it as a Knight-verse Beast Wars Scorponok.
I’m thinking this figure could be remolded into a perfectly great Beast Wars Fuzors Quickstrike
I was waiting for someone to review him, as I've A.) Seen no one talk him and B.) Was very skeptical when he was revealed. I think I'll be adding him to my wishlist now. 😄
That arm transformation is cool

His shoulders remind me of a mount in WoW. It's a flying wolf mount and it has shoulder armor on its wings. On the shoulder pads are curved spikes. Every time the wings flap, the spikes stab the poor creature in the back

The more i see of him the more bummed i am about the fact that he doesn't come out in my countey untill the 16th of february so i have to wait for my preorder till the 24th. This guy is genuinelly amazing

A hidden gym for sure, and after seeing this review im definitely glad I pre-ordered this guy. And definitely I'd say one of the better figures from Rotb.
This figure really pleasantly surprised me, for what is ostensbly a troop filler he has alot of personality packed into him, and his transformation is really creative. I personally like to fanmode his legs to give him chicken legs that make him taller and look even more dynamic in poses but either way he rocks. Only thing I'd ask for is more posability in the tail
Seeing him properly transformed, he is cool but personally I do still wish they took his Concept art combo design into account, I want my Duocon Centaur lol. Still now I may get him but will more likely go for the inevitable Double Punch and Sandstorm for the warmer colors being a possibility

I was definitely one of those "easy pass" people at first, but the more I've seen the more I'm interested in this figure. I may repaint him to be a little more accurate to the movie, or I may leave him as-is. Still I'm excited to own him for sure! I still like the 07 scorpion mode better, but obviously this one wins in robot mode.
I think the back legs look a tad unsightly

He needs to have chunkier proportions and should have been AT LEAST Voyager sized. I also wish he had those legs swinging over his shoulders like in the concept art.
