Hi Ian, I have just finished your Masterclass for Beginners Volume 2 filled with similar exercises . Have to praise you and recommend the course as I am very pleased with it. The exercises are arranged very well and make a good fundation. My progress is slow and tedious but steady and makes me feel more assured with my skills (unlike learning from random videos ). And as for speed I am moving really good ahead- still not so fast as you though but there is a hope some day I will keep up with you (or not which is more likely because you are a djembe cyborg😉, an ordinary human being just can't play that fast.🙂). Keep up the good work. Regards
Just started working on the djembe. Working on 5 steps to faster playing. I feel a lot f tension in my arms and shoulders..how do I get rid or reduce the tention?
Hey, definitely have the hands more relaxed. A good technique will not have the player suffer excessive tension anywhere. Check out my video on the "micro vacation" thing - this might help.
Dude! This is the best channel for learning Djembe on the internet! Simple, easy to follow instructions! GREAT STUFF!

What do you think about remo Apex 12"?
Is it good choice?
You're welcome :) I haven't tried the Apex series Remo djembes. I bet they're really good, and 12" should be perfect ♥
