Your videos and techniques are awesome. I just recently starting watching your channel and it inspired me to buy the same Remo djembe 🙌🏽✨. I was wondering, what clip do you use for the mic?
Hey Ian...I am about to purchase both video courses and on your website now. I was wondering if you offer a deal if both courses are purchased same time? Or maybe get one of the coupon codes available. You are such an amazing player but more importantly an amazing teacher with such a cool vibe and I LOVE your style. . Plus you care about people because you are always answering their questions on YT which so dope cool. And what just blew me away is I just read your background on DjmebeMaster and had no idea you did a tour with WASP. Hell yeah bro. Blackie Lawless!! I was a heavy metal guitarist back in the day and major headbanger and have seen almost every metal band including WASP when they played Lamours in Brooklyn NY. . Metal is in my soul even though I turn 59 next month. I just got my very first 12 inch REMO mondo delivered today. Sounds amazing but I wished I watched your videos first because I do like the sound of the 14inch even better than the 16 inch. This will be fine to learn on and will upgrade to the 14 inch as a gift to myself when I finish your courses. I sat in my first drum circle last week here in Austin TX with a borrowed djembe and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I was instantly addicted. The dope thing is I felt like Bill Bruford at times doing these weird syncopated grooves and not having a clue what the heck I was doing so can't wait to start your courses. You rock bro!!
Hey, Bob! Thanks for the kind words. I created a coupon code BOB20 for you to enter when purchasing both courses. Thank you! There are minor glitches sometimes with the site - at the moment it seems there needs an issue to be fixed with my developer regarding a page. This should take 1-2 days. WASP tour was an awesome experience, indeed. And glad you fell in love with the djembe drum. My preference is the 14", too. Although, I let my students use the 14" in class while I play the 12".
Oh shit you really made the video! Thanks for this that helps a lot. One question, when I do the bass slap in the center my remo (same as yours) it just makes a deep bass sound that rumbles the walls theres no ringing tone to it, only the rumbling bass. Should I tighten or untighten my djembe?
Rumbling some walls happens to me too sometimes. About that ringing sound - can you make a short video about this ringing? Not exactly sure about what's happening...
@@DjembeMaster i have a similar looking one. But its so flimsy and moves alot when I play. :/ could u link the one u use? Or show how hou set it up? Cheers man! Thanks a bunch
This Samson clip that I use, I actually just found in my studio a few years ago. Wasn't planning on using this. If you saw the product online, then it just basically clamps onto the edge of the Remo djembe - also by pure coincidence 😁 But! And here's the big one - during live performances, it has fallen off (also twice this year) and obviously fallen together with the microphone attached. So, actually, I cannot say I recommend this. Not that it's not an OK product, but it just does not suit the Remo djembe best. Someday, I have to find a new, more firm, solution 🧐
Awesome sound. It strikes me that I have not found any other djembe player who hits the djembe in this way, however the results are clearly astounding
Thanks! This is probably the result of being self-taugh 🙂
It’s a conga technique
Incredible man, your videos are like opening a new musical dimension to my djembe playing. Appreciate the vids and really hope you keep them coming :)
This is soooo cool! 😀 I will try it for sure! Thx for your lessons young man, I learn with you from Quebec 🙋🏻♀️
Awesome playing, thx!
Please more videos like that :D so cool
Thank you very much - Master 😊

I love you ❤️ thank you
When you do mute slap and bass stroke together do you put a bass stroke hand first and then put a mute slap hand?
Excellent question! I make sure they hit at exactly the same time :) But maybe a millimeter, the slap hand is before...
What clip mic are u usuing?
Samson DMC100
