  • Understanding that a nervous or anxious dog is one without clear instructions is the first step toward building confidence. Does this mean you need to baby your dog? I don't believe so. Your dog needs clarity.

Hey! I have a question, my dog is suuuuuuper energetic (I call him my little crackhead) and during our walks if we are to stop and stay still for a while at a time he begins to whine and sometimes tries to pull me, I always correct the pulling which in turn makes him come and sit next to me but he continues whining. The same thing happens at the end of our walk, he begins whining as we go back inside (though I chalk this up to being sad the walk is over) all this happens after he uses the bathroom, I at first thought it was that. Is there something I’m not doing or something I’m doing wrong?

hey man....i really like the way you introduced us to a new perspective on training n understand our pets....I do learn a lot of things from your videos....
We have a German Sheperd, a golden retriever, 2 cats and 3 kittens....I couldn't spend much time with JIMMU (GSD) so he is bit aggressive and he loves and care my father and mother more than anyone....whenever I get back to my home I try to spend time with him and explore new things...You just gave me HOPE...
more than all of that the most important thing that I felt in your videos is POSITIVITY....Yes ..we feel positive...we think nothing is late we have to try it another way.. maybe our buddy is not understanding us or we making him confused by showing ourselves confused..making his confidence down....
    thank you soo much bro.....
i wish I could spend a day with you...to see how it is....because I luv dogs a lot and I wanna learn the basic things how to teach my dog basics and more than that to create a POSITIVE BOND.

Hey thanks for this comment, sorry you're having a bit of a hard time but when it comes to aggression and reactivity, there is a process to solving it or at least managing it in a way that your dog can be effective and trustworthy eventually. I have it all broken down on www.ericandcaprithepup.com so if you ever need a place to start ... you know where to go. I'll also be available to guide you through the process so reach out whenever you're ready!

@@ericandcaprithepup thank you so much for your response.....I have gone through the website..it is worthy and definitely I will look into it....i was unaware of your channel and you...i am not a fan of social media.....i spend little time in youtube searching for dog diet and care videos....i love them n it makes me happy.....
anyway, Jimmu is not that aggressive...i mean the aggressive level is not intensive....but he always guards my parents...i am happy about that because they he has spent most of the time with my parents ....apart from that I used to spend time with him whenever I come home...
As I said earlier it is never late....i am glad that I came to know about you and the website...thanks a lot...

Still waiting to hear back why “ok” is a bad release command

    • @shannondavidson1886

Because we say "ok" too much on our daily conversation.

Honestly, this is the same reason why I thinks "yes" as a reward marker is also bad. Anything you say in normal conversation should not be a command. This is why a lot of people use German or French etc.

@@ihatepenuts1tbh it’s more about tone for “yes” slurring the ‘sss’ and emphasizing the “YEEEA” but for okay it’s just bad overall.
