So when do you start calling the action with the command? Do you after a while say "focus" *they look* you say "good" and give a treat? Won't they get confused is it good or is it focus?
Put your hands with treats near your eyes, when he looks at your eyes say "yes" and reward. The second step is with the hand like in the video and with the other you have to point at your eyes, will catch the eyes for the movement and will understands that the reward is for looking at you.
Have one female dog that stares you in the eyes until it burrows through your soul and another male who avoids eye contact whenever possible. Both confident, assertive, kind, intelligent australian shepherds with quirky engagement traits.
I taught Koosh this with his dinner. He sits waiting for it but doesn't get it until he looks me in the eye with the command "look at me" People think I'm crazy. Does he give a paw? No. There are more important things. This upload has reinforced my method and madness. Thank you again, Eric.
