OMG! I love that this video involves two dogs who really cannot be in a room together. I'm in this situation and all the training vids give good advice, but the most they do is show the work simulated with dogs who aren't really trying to fight. It's so hard to put into practice if I can't see what it looks like in the beginning stages. Thank you for this video!
Positive association takes skill and often a healed human. So in you, the struggle of dealing with unwanted dog behaviour is gone. Otherwise teaching positive association with anxiety will not work. Know your craft. Great video
this was superb. I guess building the positive association is paramount if they've had a few fights because they will (upon seeing the other) expect the fight so their brains need to be reprogrammed that they are happy to see the other. Love it.
I have a dog that only is reactive when meeting new dogs. No issues untill they start smelling eachother, then she will snap at them most of the time. Would this be a good practice for her, re directing at the site, or using this same method once they start getting into close contact?
It is not the dog she is sniffing it is her claiming territory, that is where your work needs to be involved. So perhaps claiming her reaction so she knows you don't need her behaviour

Love these videos. Keep it up Eric!
Amazing. And you’re showing the work. Thank you for the knowledge
4:25 I enjoyed the direction of the male. He was actually doing a very good job enforcing the foundation of the concept.
He sure was!
Love all the videos.
Does giving the dog a treat after the reaction not reinforce the unwanted behavior?
Any idea what Eric's training philosophy is? Timing is tricky. Kudos to the owner.

I wish there was someone like you by me. None of the trainers in my area will work with my dog.😢
thats's because they won't ADMIT they simply don't have the skill to do it.
Hahaha WHAT THE! This is a relationship issue not a training issue! Eric you should have had the lady do the training so we can see it works?
Is the bird rescued and will be wildered out or why the heck he is in a cage? You know: wings are for flying. Guess he is just a nice accessory.

And the fish
With dogs like that, the bird will be eaten if freed. We need a good look at ourselves for this behaviour. It is very layered and infects all of us
