so early in the video does the dog learn the difference between it’s own aggression translating into fear and misplaced overprotection. always love your videos eric! ❤️
Sit outside a petstore with them in a down, or sit, hardware store at whatever distance is just past the trigger and slowly move forwaed day after day, time after time.
If your thumbnails for your videos looked anything close to how they show up in my recommended shorts. . . . these would get SO many views! My mind is blown coming over to your channel for the first time. I honestly almost left because at first glance I thought I was on the wrong channel! I had to go through too many videos to find this one! If the dog and owner were in the thumb nails, or at least the dog . . . there would be SO many views.
Hello! I suggest switching up your thumbnails to showcase the actual video, as I feel you could earn more view thats way and people will get a gist of what the video is abt :)
Ohhh dude, i discovery your chanel today and thank you, i have a aggressive polish tatra sheep dog and i try everything to help him, but now i have better view what to do!
Awesome work man. I know you get a lot of hate from people telling you how to discipline dogs however breeds like German Shep. And malinois require strict boundaries that you have to put and abide by. Thanks for the content!
I have that muzzle but in red, I will dig into your videos and let you know what I find or have questions, etc. As I wrote on the reply to your comment>>> I have found introductions in a neutral area with handshakes between people, food rewards given by the new person and verbal praise is working, but she barks at people until the introduction. She needs to build confidence. You can tell that she wants to trust humans but is very fearful in some cases, she has a three bite history from fear biting. She is fearful of the muzzle and the Halti, so lots of desensitization must happen before she wears either. She totally lacks confidence.
Maybe u were just doing it for tv and trying to show aggressiveness, but the dog was doing its job and acting completely appropriate as a protection dog at the beginning. Especially with an owner not giving a shepherd dog direction (so it does what its bred to do, use its own brain to assess the job and action). Prob not for TV because then the owner was praised for trying to kill the dogs bred for behavior rather than communicate "he s ok" and that behavior was not needed.
An untrained pet or fearful dog behaving on fight or flight, is NOT a protection dog, regardless of the breed. Protection dogs are confident in the job they are trained do and are trained to their limits. An untrained, working breed dog is not “doing what it’s bred to do” or “being protective” they are acting on fear by resource guarding or improper socializion, it’s not true instinct. Working dogs are bred to be TRAINED for a job they have proven through training to excel in physically and are mentally capable of handling, which activates the instincts through controlled experiences, they are not born assuming it as a default behavior. You wouldn’t expect a retriever or bird dog to understand they cannot puncture or shred a fallen duck or crow without training, or a pointer to not give chase and kill prey, without training. You wouldn’t expect a guardian not to kill livestock without training. Or a collie or cattle dog to herd without basic training or they will scatter or damage livestock. Or a GSD or Rott, etc. the difference between a violent intruder and a friend or child! To claim it’s acting appropriately without proper training, diminishes the work of actual protection trainers and places a dangerous and unnecessary pressure on a fearful, untrained pet to step in and take action which can harm or traumatize them. Dogs are terrible decision makers, especially under stresses which they have no reference to default on a behavior. The dog isn’t punished for no reason, the dog is redirected because the owner noticed an issue and doesn’t need her dog reacting out of fear, when the dog is safe under her control. It simply hadn’t learned that. His own dog is a working breed shepherd and does not act in this manner with just any given stranger, she was taught he is her comfort AND to have her own confidence through training!❤

This gives me hope. Now I just need to find willing participants to help me with the desensitization process. My dog has so much potential.
I feel the same. Bless this dude and trainers like him. Gotta do this to give them the best life

Solid! 💯 Awesome.
Please get better thumbnails.. Your videos are amazing, you only need to put in a very small effort to get millions of views..
