AD's mom gives me chills and not in a good way. Clay gave her breadcrumbs when they met and she ate it all up. Clay does the bare minimum and they're satisfied with that. No good. Even Clay's mom told him to prioritize AD if he truly loved her, something her own mom didn't do.
I had 2 prior relationships before getting engaged to my fiancé. I brought home my Exs &my fiancé when I was dating them to meet my mother. My mother NEVER acted the way AD’s mom acted mind you these were also very very handsome men. All my mother saw in them and my fiancé were young men who could be her sons. And she treated them as such.
I knew that was an easy “no”when he saw her. Clay is a talker and was playing AD the entire time. Plus AD gave me vibes that she thought her body was enough to keep Clays attention.

AD was too thirsty in the Pods and outside the pods. The entire interaction between her and Clay was superficial, very surface level. She tends to use her body to attract but not careful about the caliber of man she draws to her. It's unbelievable that she fell for Clay when she said in the pods that he was the same as guys she dated in the past. It's crazy because she talked about painting her nails red for a red flag.
I found it surprising that Clay only connected with AD, at least from what we saw. It seems AD was the one left with all the red flags that pretty much everyone else avoided - Clay and Matthew. Smh Clay wasn’t ready!

You had some really great takes about AD that I hadn't heard yet. She's very likeable so we don't want to judge her, but she is responsible in this situation too. She gives away her power and agency to a man, but we all see how she is so much more than that. That baby voice, she's diminishing herself. Us not pointing that out is ultimately treating her as merely a victim or even a child rather than a person who has the ability to leave when a man isn't her equal.
I wanted to cheer for her so bad and did in the beginning. But over time, she just didn't show up like someone who understood what she signed up for or what she was looking for. There were no deep or hard conversations with Clay...ever. She is responsible for how she reacts to what happens to her.

It's not only AD, it's the culture of pressuring women to get married which they internalise. They think they MUST get married or they'll be seen as less, so they accept subpart behaviour. I have hopes for her, she can learn to value what is meaningful in a relationship and how being married speaks nothing of your value or happiness.

I hear you! I had a friend who didn’t know her worth. She was in love with man who had so many red flags. He was obviously married. She ignored all the signs. It was too painful to listen to the lies and seeing her being used. I had to end that friendship when his teenage found her number and called to confirm his marital status. She still continued to see him and believed that the daughter was lying.
That breaks my heart. The combination of an insecure person and a taker is horrible. One person will be drained over time and the other person will just use the time to better themselves and fulfill their needs at the detriment of their partner.

I have to disagree with you on one thing - AD is not the one responsible for Clay saying no. This is 100% on Clay. AD is just responsible for not being ready for it. She clearly should have seen this coming. But that doesn't absolve Clay from any of the responsibility of going as far as standing on that Altar, and still saying no. I don't like Jimmy, but at least he did the right thing in having this conversation with Chelsea before the Altar. Clearly, Clay knew all that time he wasn't going to marry AD. He should have broken it up way before. This saying no at the altar thing is just plain cruel.
I always hated the going to the altar especially when it’s clear the person will say no. But they signed up for the show knowing that possibility. As far as AD and Clay go, I’m not absolving Clay of his actions but I can have more grace for him because he verbalized his fears throughout. If I ignore red flags, it’s my fault for getting my heart broken. It’s harsh but it’s the truth in my opinion.

I feel that Clay is actually isn't completely in the wrong here. Should he have expressed this before going to the alter? 100%! That makes him in the wrong here, he should have said how he felt earlier. However, just like he said, he's not rejecting her, he just wanted a longer engagement to really get to know their life together. We need to remember they've only known each other for 2 WEEKS. She's got every right to feel embarrassed and upset about what happened at the alter, and how he went about it. But she's not listening to what he needs, which is just a longer engagement not a break up.
The issue with these two is they're both ignoring what the other person needs (sometimes because they don't talk about it at all). It's the unfortunate truth that Clay probably has more time to get it right than AD does, depending on their priorities in life (having kids, for example). You had some really great takes about AD that I hadn't heard yet. She's very likeable so we don't want to judge her, but she is responsible in this situation too. She gives away her power and agency to a man, but we all see how she is so much more than that. That baby voice, she's diminishing herself. Us not pointing that out is ultimately treating her as merely a victim or even a child rather than a person who has the ability to leave when a man isn't her equal.
I wanted to cheer for her so bad and did in the beginning. But over time, she just didn't show up like someone who understood what she signed up for or what she was looking for. There were no deep or hard conversations with Clay...ever. She is responsible for how she reacts to what happens to her.

Just because you thought your booty was going to get your man to the altar doesn't mean other women had to use that same tactic too. We got to see some REAL AD and it was not a good look.
It's not only AD, it's the culture of pressuring women to get married which they internalise. They think they MUST get married or they'll be seen as less, so they accept subpart behaviour. I have hopes for her, she can learn to value what is meaningful in a relationship and how being married speaks nothing of your value or happiness.

I had a friend who didn’t know her worth. She was in love with man who had so many red flags. He was obviously married. She ignored all the signs. It was too painful to listen to the lies and seeing her being used. I had to end that friendship when his teenage found her number and called to confirm his marital status. She still continued to see him and believed that the daughter was lying.
That breaks my heart. The combination of an insecure person and a taker is horrible. One person will be drained over time and the other person will just use the time to better themselves and fulfill their needs at the detriment of their partner.

AD does not and won’t change or have standards and ppl she will say NO to!!!! Finding the right kind of love is knowing who to say NO to. I have to disagree with you on one thing - AD is not the one responsible for Clay saying no. This is 100% on Clay. AD is just responsible for not being ready for it. She clearly should have seen this coming. But that doesn't absolve Clay from any of the responsibility of going as far as standing on that Altar, and still saying no. I don't like Jimmy, but at least he did the right thing in having this conversation with Chelsea before the Altar. Clearly, Clay knew all that time he wasn't going to marry AD. He should have broken it up way before. This saying no at the altar thing is just plain cruel.
I always hated the going to the altar especially when it’s clear the person will say no. But they signed up for the show knowing that possibility.
As far as AD and Clay go, I’m not absolving Clay of his actions but I can have more grace for him because he verbalized his fears throughout. If I ignore red flags, it’s my fault for getting my heart broken. It’s harsh but it’s the truth in my opinion.

I feel that Clay is actually isn't completely in the wrong here. Should he have expressed this before going to the alter? 100%! That makes him in the wrong here, he should have said how he felt earlier. However, just like he said, he's not rejecting her, he just wanted a longer engagement to really get to know their life together. We need to remember they've only known each other for 2 WEEKS. She's got every right to feel embarrassed and upset about what happened at the alter, and how he went about it. But she's not listening to what he needs, which is just a longer engagement not a break up.
The issue with these two is they're both ignoring what the other person needs (sometimes because they don't talk about it at all). AD needs validation too but she doesn't really vocalize that with Clay. Clay did too much vocalizing but AD didn't listen. I don't particularly think Clay is all in the wrong either lol I think he's the winner in this scenario.

I’m 100% with you. AD was here for the sympathy edit. Show off her body and Louboutins. But she didn’t do her hair or lashes so that was a fail. That dress was trashy.
I think a lot of people are not picking up what she’s putting down! She was here for a good time, not a long time and that’s fine! Coming on here for clout is the norm now so nobody is blaming her. Let’s just not wallow in misery over something we all knew would happen.
She didn't do anything wrong, but trust in a lie. This man came to be mini famous and promote his business. Some came just for tv and that's just it.

Aissatou, you nailed it when you talked about Clay explaining why he loved AD. It was about how she was a resource to him. Then you nailed it again when you pointed out how Amy and Jonny love each other for their character and integrity. Two different types of love. Love your insights! Nice that these people are authentic and go for what is right for them. I'm including Clay in this. He didn't settle. He will career build and have fun doing it. He has lots of time to enjoy women. Women don't have the luxury of a long dating window. Just how it is...
It's the unfortunate truth that Clay probably has more time to get it right than AD does, depending on their priorities in life (having kids, for example). I think they both can stand to do some internal reflecting and figure out what they've been doing wrong and how to course correct going forward. Thanks for watching and providing your perspective!
