I think a lot of the current cast was looking for something other than love on this show.
The quest for marriage part was fake but I think the drama that ensued was real.

The will only get worse each season with additional vetting. Jeramy basically implied that a friend recruited him which also likely made it easier to getting him through the final casting process.
Trevor apparently deleted his old accounts which seems like a red flag. Privating makes sense, but not deleting.

Im sorry but ADs mom saying that his parents relationship was successful because they stayed married so long is toxic. It's setting her up to believe that as long as they don't get divorced even if hes cheating it will be a successful marriage.

The reason why Jimmy doesnt want to talk about hooking up with a friend on TV is out of respect for the friend, since she was shown in a previous episode and she did not sign up for the world knowing. Its actually so disrespectful of Chelsea to bring up another womans buisness on tv when she had asked for it not to be.
It is more Jimmy's fault than Chelsea's. Her sharing that information was in response to Jimmy's misbehavior, not as punishment, but as a way for her to make sense of things, amidst a very chaotic series of events with someone who gaslit her the whole way through. For a couple who are focused on getting the most out of the limited time they have before making such a significant decision, Jimmy's female friends should have never come up as a focal point, and they would not have been if he acted in ways that didn't center them at all. I understand the concern for privacy, and it is Jimmy who owes his friend the respect of ensuring her privacy is protected, by keeping from behaviors that would even cause her to be talked about. This man was very manipulative and somehow Chelsea ended up looking ridiculous. I refuse to blame women when men are in the mix because there's always some way in which male inactions/weaponized incompetency is missed under patriarchy, and women get blamed instead and told they should have known better. No, Jimmy should have known better. It seems the world is forgetting that it's Jimmy's responsibility to protect his friend by being responsible to his fiancee. If Jimmy hadn't been in constant communication with the friend, going out to see her without Chelsea, and had actually focused on putting in effort to spend as much with Chelsea in the short time they had together, which is what it seems he sold her in the pods, the friend would not have become a topic of conversation.

Chelsea had already admitted on camera that she was still friends with an ex-boyfriend so she was being hypocritical getting upset over Jimmy’s friends. And 2. Now that we know Chelsea was drunk during that fight, she could have easily said something that could have led to unwanted attention on the friend and a possible lawsuit.

I too thought the same until I realized Jimmy's behavior is what caused it to come up as a topic. If he acted differently and focused his time and attention Chelsea, not constantly texting and getting drinks with his friend without his fiancee, she would not have been talked about. He was also disrespectful to his friend by not making sure his behavior kept her from being a focus, knowing she wanted privacy. He should be held responsible for his behavior, not Chelsea being blamed for her reasonable reaction to it. Jimmy is the person who should have protected his friend by behaving better, to Chelsea, she's a stranger. Jimmy was a bad friend.
Chelsea also didn't hang out and text her ex constantly while "at work" and ignoring Jimmy for most of the time filming was happening, neither did she leave Jimmy at home to go have drinks with her ex for one and a half hours.
@@meeeeepmooooopWell, talking in revenge does not make him guilty, but her. This showed that she can betray him whenever he does something she doesn’t’ agree with. That is one of the reasons to say “no” at the altar.
There's always going to be a difference between the edit, what we think happened, and the truth and we'll never know which. I can see Chelsea being a hypocrite, I can see Chelsea getting in her head after one bad night of drinking, and I can see Jimmy actually being worse than the edits he is getting. I don't feel comfortable judging her on just the edit, but I know that's part of the fun to others.
I agree with Natalie that Jimmy is obviously doing everything to look good on TV. He's absolutely going to say No at the altar.
I think it’s interesting that everyone has turned on Chelsea. I feel like Jimmy regretted his choice as soon as he saw Chelsea at the physical reveal. You don’t say “she lied about her appearance” if you’re happy.
So I think he’s staying with Chelsea to prove that he made the right choice, especially after Jess said he would choke. And I feel like Chelsea knows this, which is triggering all of her insecurities.
He says all the right things, but his entire body language and even the way he says I love you feels forced and has no heart behind it.
He gaslit her the whole time, by omission. He didn't actively deny reality, which is what we're used to seeing as gaslighting, but he totally did not deliver on the life he promised her in the pods. He created an emotionally unsafe environment for someone who had shared so openly that she had been cheated on by an ex, with one of his best friends. His actions did not reassure her, they triggered her insecurities.
I do think it's her responsibility to heal, but she was doing the best she could, and was was aware enough to talk about it as something she's working through, and in the pods after getting to know her so deeply, he promised he would take care of her, only to do the opposite, and at the same time, kept saying he was there for her. That would make most people in Chelsea's shoes crazy, and given how many women are missing how awful Jimmy is, Chelsea is not in the minority, at all.

Bro he said that because the producers obviously asked him about it. Like they don’t just talk straight from their mind in the interviews. They probably asked him something like „So do you think she looks like Megan fox haha?“ and that’s how he responded and he still said he liked her appearance in that same answer

I 100% agree with you. I think Chelsea needs to do A LOT of work on herself, but from the very start you could tell Jimmy wasn't attracted to her, thereby triggering her insecurities. His behaviour only proved to bring out the worst of said insecurities which started a vicious circle of her acting insane and him pretending to be the good buy. He had no intention in ever staying with her. His whole body language said so. He was only in it for a good edit in the end.

I think Natalie is spot on regarding Jimmy’s intentions. He’s likely seen the intense backlash Bartise, Cole, Shake, etc. got for their lack of sensitivity and tact when it comes to their relationships. While some deserved the backlash more than others, I don’t think Jimmy wants to risk it.
Jimmy knows it will never work with Chelsea. He is waiting until the show is done to cut his losses - in the meantime, choosing his words carefully, patiently biding his time with Chelsea. Treating her respectfully and tolerating her nonsense until he feels safe to make his move and end the relationship with most viewers on his side.

What bothers me about Clay when he refers to the qualities that AD has he talks about how she makes him feel about himself. He’s not necessarily qualities that AD has in herself
Seeing Chelsea’s anxious attachment narrative in full effect was really eye opening for me. I knew I had struggles with this, but seeing it from a third party perspective completely changed me. I’m really grateful they show cased that because it was so helpful to recognize my own insecurities and how to manage them moving forward. Throughout the scene, I was almost mentally coaching Chelsea out of that mindset- and I realized I can do the same for myself. Who knew LIB could be so insightful!

I think part of the issue with the cast “spoiling” it has to do with how much they try to drag out episode releases. Earlier seasons didn’t have over a month of time to deal with social media. I bet the cast are encouraged to engage because it keeps people watching.
My belief is that Chelsea is a “mean drunk” with a victim mentality. She 100% emotionally manipulates Jimmy (and probably other partners) and that pattern leads her to further believe that she’s a victim. The lady needs AA and a good therapist!

I feel like she love bombs too before a fight. She never gives him a genuine compliments and words of affirmation. It’s hey I love you but etc. it’s very manipulative
People don't get drunk because they're running away from happy feelings of relaxation and being reassured and cared for by their fiancee, Chelsea was seriously struggling because Jimmy was such an inconsiderate fiancee to her. If my fiancee should be my best friend, imagining any friend of mine acting the way Jimmy acted just makes it so clear how awful he was, and it's being missed while Chelsea gets blamed.
I get sad seeing takes like this because I 100% would have thought the same thing before learning what subtle gaslighting looks like. I now know that whenever a woman looks "crazy", there's probably some very mixed messages and inconsistencies she's experiencing, especially if she has such low self esteem like it seemed Chelsea does.
Jimmy was the manipulator, what we see in Chelsea is a woman trying to make sense of so much confusion and gaslighting, it's so triggering to watch actually, because I have been Chelsea in the past, and yes from what we were shown, she needs healing. Seeing how many of us missed how awful Jimmy is tells me so many women would have reacted similarly if they were in her shoes.
Women blaming other women benefits men and distracts us from realizing the role the man is playing in maintaining the chaos the woman is reacting to. All Jimmy had to do was show Chelsea through his actions, that he is 100% there for her. He didn't do that. He played on her insecurities by texting his friend he had hooked up with, all day, even drinks with her, without inviting Chelsea. A good friend would not act that selfishly, they would be considerate knowing their friend is struggling and working on being more secure in herself like Chelsea mentioned, and somehow men as fiancees and husbands aren't expected to treat us as well as our friends do. It's so sad.

There should be rules where you're not allowed to discuss appearance, ethnicity, etc in the pods. It defeats the whole purpose of the show. Also, Netflix producers need to do more thorough sesrches to find out if they are currently in relationships when applying for the show.
Maybe producers could even interview potential contestants' parents and ask them if they are in a relationship and ready for marriage. Hopefully, parents would tell the truth.

Am I the only one who isn’t a fan of Jessica? She clearly went on the show for Clout, which is very sad and telling of her parenting. I have a daughter her daughters age and I can’t imagine telling her hey I’m going to go on a show and potentially bringing back a husband you have never met or been around. I cant imagine her father was ok with that? Unless of course she told him this it all got clout so don’t worry? A tiktok of hers came up on my feed and she has her daughter doing tiktoks now. Which is creepy with soo many followers she gained. Too many creeps in the internet and the videos of her daughter have so many saves.

Telling of her parenting? She’s a teen mom who seemingly had a dead end job. If this will give her a platform to better provide for her child, so be it. She doesn’t have an OnlyFans or a sugar daddy, so relax.
Yeah parents should be very leerly of over exposing their kids especially if they are famous parents. Imo she went on for clout and might have been looking for a connection to date after the show but maybe say no at the alter. If I were Netflix producers I would have my employees watch this podcast to learn about what to and not to do next season, or what to put in a contract.

I guessed it before she made the serenade comment. During "After the altar", it became obvious what kind of person he is. I kinda liked him during the season, but something felt off. I couldn't stand him during "After the altar"! Probably one of the biggest shifts in opinions I have ever had with this show. Wow!
I hated SAL. He was so gross and the serenades made my stomach hurt 😂

I agree with you. However I get the impression that Chelsea pretends to be ok with things she actually isn't okay with. But then her dissatisfaction comes out at another point when arguing about something else. They were arguing about Jimmy going out for 1.5 hrs for a friend's birthday for the first time in 3 months and how this make him someone who 'likes to go out', when really her issue was a fear that he would be seeing a friend he had been intimate with. When he told her about the friend, she should have stated her boundaries and expectations there and then and then the ball would have been in his court (something like "thank you for telling me - I appreciate your honesty. However, I want you to know that the ongoing daily messages between the two of you now make me uncomfortable, knowing that you were previously intimate. This is not something I can will be able to move past, unless you draw a boundary with that friend. "). NOT trying to control him by making sure he never leaves her sight. It's suffocating
The level of handholding Chelsea is expected to do to teach Jimmy how to be considerate feels unfair. It's like men are not expected to even be good friends to their fiancees. A half decent friend even, who knows me on the level Jimmy got to know Chelsea in the pods, with how much he claims he's there for her, and wants to show he loves her, would not act in the ways he did that would trigger her insecurities to begin with. Not saying she isn't at fault, but seeing Jimmy get off the hook, and Chelsea made responsible for his lack of basic kindness is awful. He gaslit her intensely but very subtly, and what we see is her being very emotionally disregulated, which is the result of feeling unsafe.
There was an alternate reality in which Jimmy was attuned and committed enough to her to create a more emotionally safe environment, and that's the one Chelsea was promised by Jimmy, and what she thought she would get when he chose her. Like she said, he was lying in the pods. He wasn't committed to her, and didn't treat her with care, he was very reckless with both Chelsea and his friend's privacy. He is the one at fault, more than any of those women who are caught in the drama triangle that is now absolving him of all responsibility.

Totally agree with Deepti about Chelsea. I don't think Chelsea got a bad edit- you can not make a bad edit like this out of someone who is emotionally stable or emotionally mature. The fight with Jimmy made no sense- she was asking questions, then accused him of being with Jess when Jess wasn't even there- she was fishing. Then she did start spiraling, and she does this every episode and it is exhausting. There is ALWAYS something wrong, whatever Jimmy does is not good enough, whatever he says is not good enough. It seems like she has a drinking problem, and that mixed with being so insecure and she projects A LOT, they're never going to last. He tried to leave after she was backing him into a corner and then she was like "what?! i just told you to leave and now you're throwing the towel in?" like that's not what she just said she wanted. She is too much.
Chelsea he had a lot of reasons to be spiraling and "fishing". There was something wrong the whole time, Jimmy's actions were preying on her insecurities, and his words were claiming to love and be there for her. He was actively showing her he didn't care.
Jimmy knew she was insecure, she admitted it to him and his friends, and said it's something she's working on. His actions created an environment that was emotionally unsafe for her, after getting to know her so deeply and promising her the opposite in the pods. He failed her, and looking back, she was right about him lying in the pods. She was trying to make sense of a situation that made no sense, words that weren't matching his actions. She wasn't drinking because she was feeling supported, loved, and protected, all of which Jimmy promised, she was drinking because she was stressed and confused by her gaslighting fiance. Jimmy was very intentional, he created the exact environment he knew would cause her to spiral, while acting like he didn't understand what she was complaining about, and she got progressively emotionally unstable.
I feel like it is a bit of both though.. Chelsea is very insecure and she does project a lot of her issues onto Jimmy, and she expects reassurance after insane accusations rather than just having an honest conversation with him. She is not emotionally in a place to be in a committed relationship. Understandable since she got cheated on in her previous relationship but she hasn’t healed enough rn.
Equally though, Jimmy’s actions don’t align with his words. He has a lot of empty I love Yous which are kind of hard to believe when he’s so dead behind the eyes. He doesn’t really love Chelsea like he says he does and we see that when he chats to Jess and he says that she’s still his number 1 choice. He should just be honest with Chelsea atp because they’re just gonna have the same fight until one of them crack. they literally don’t even like each other anymore. Also felt bad for Chelsea that the one other guy that liked her unquestioningly was only on the show for clout 😭😭
I totally agree with you perspective. I just didn't focus on Chelsea as much because the rest of the viewing audience seems to only focus on Chelsea's issues and it feels so unbalanced/unfair. Jimmy's manipulation is so subtle, it's getting missed by so many female viewers, it's kind of scary bc that tells me that in the real world, his very abusive behavior would be acceptable to most women, which means most men are getting away with being awful to their female partners while getting called "good guys". Even if Brittany & Kenneth did break up before they had to do it for the cameras, Brittany still had an emotional reaction & Kenneth still didn’t show any care and was eating and on his phone while she was in full tears. Also, Brittany said on the episode a couple times that he’s on his phone a lot

I think Sarah Ann did owe Laura something. She’s hurting another woman as well and she should at-least owe her some respect and kindness because everyone at least deserves that but Jereamy (idk if that’s spelled right) is def at fault too! But Nat your takes were great!
It's not surprising that Sarah Ann doesn't respect other women. The fact that she's prepared to accept the kind of man who gets engaged to one woman whilst "leaving the door open" for another shows she has very little self-respect. Also, she's anti-chojce, so she clearly doesn't even respect other women's bodily autonomy.
I'm seeing so many people say they get why Chelsea would be upset with Jimmy for still being friends with a woman he slept with in the past, but no one has brought up the hipocracy in Chelsea. I the last batch of episodes when she meets Jimmy's girl friends, she says "one of my best friends is my ex too, so it's fine."

Honestly, if Chelsea acts this way in every relationship, I can't see any of her exes wanting anything to do with her anymore. I think she made it up as a manipulation tactic to lull him into a false sense of security.

I hear what you're saying but Jimmy doesn't have to be upset about Chelsea being friends with an ex bf for it to be ok for Chelsea to have insecurities about Jimmy's friend. we all have different things that trigger bad feelings for us. The only way to move forward is for Jimmy to make a compromise to pull back from that friend or Chelsea break up with Jimmy because she's too insecure about the relationship Jimmy has with that woman.

What do people want Jeramey’s mom to do? Give him a time out or take away his phone? He’s a grown man, she’s done with that, she said what she said which was perfect, she didn’t justify his actions but called him out with that comment. People can be so ridiculous, he’s not a teenager even if he acts like one.

Shake has always shown himself to be the horrible guy he is... full of red flags, disrespectful, inconvenient, etc. As for Trevor, he brought a disgusting persona... everything he said, every word is a lie (even his muscles are fake, btw). I hate dealing with people like that, I prefer a horrible guy who says things, than a loving person who fakes absolutely everything. Sweet lies hurt so much more (for me)

I heard/saw somewhere (very likely on TikTok since it’s my news source these days🤣) that if you engage in the pods, and you regret your choice, you must continue to the altar even if you and your partner are both sure of saying no. If not, you have a contract clause that force you to pay 50k $ to the producers/Netflix. So according to this, what was the case for Brittany and Keneth this season? Did they pay to Netflix or did they have to go to the altar and say no but wasn’t filmed? And I wonder, if this clause is not new, then what the couples who brook before the altar did on recent seasons (like JP and Taylor, Jackie and Marshall, Zack and Irina?).

When Jimmy and Jess spoke I also saw the love there and I felt the same connection they felt in the pods which is very rare to see in this show. They loved each other intellectually and they understood each other’s emotions. I truly think that the pressure of not wanting to be a father immediately after getting married was what drove him away from picking her.

I think the reason jimmy told her off camera about the friend he slept with was so that she could express her concerns without them being put on the show due to the friend. I think she probably told him that she would be fine with him telling his future wife the truth, but she probably doesn’t want it blasted on Netflix so that everyone knows… Chelsea should have ended things after hearing that, instead of trying to work it out and pretend it was fine. I would have walked away after hearing that, but I wouldn’t have announced on tv that this woman had sex with him, she probably wanted to keep that private.

I agreed with pretty much everything you guys said except the part about Jimmy’s old fling with his friend. For the record, jimmy isn’t a saint either. But both Chelsea and Jimmy had a “mutual understanding” that they would not discuss his previous affairs with this specific person, which is why his friend agreed to be on camera. If Chelsea wasn’t okay with it in the first place, she needed to be a mature woman and tell her man that she wasn’t comfortable. This was a line that should have never been crossed by Chelsea and bc of this, she crossed a line and has zero respect for privacy. Also, jimmy was truthful about EVERYTHING. In most relationships, that’s all you can ask for and she is NOT ready to be in ANY relationship and I don’t understand why she’s in this show. Unpopular opinion, but I actually don’t agree about putting Laura on a pedestal. I totally agree that Sarah Ann could and should have dealt with the situation in a better way taking other people into consideration. However I don’t know if it was the edit or not, but Laura was so critical constantly and even though it was packaged as a „joke“ I was having hard time watching it let alone I could have imagined being in a relationship with someone bashing me like that all the time. Honestly I felt so much empathy for her. When I was young and dumb I was so in love with my bf, and he would saaaay he loved me but I felt the disconnection. He would distance himself with his actions then tell me he loved me and I was being crazy and overreacting to nothing… but I was sensing that he was just not as in it as I was. I should have listened to my gut. It was crazy making. He broke up with me several times, but always said things like he loves me so much, will never love anyone more, wished it would work etc., always left a foot in the door. Always came back when it was convenient for him. Totally destroyed my self esteem and fucked up what I thought love was supposed to look like for a long long time.

I feel like it’s important to recognize for Amy and Johnny and the BC issue that they live in a state that is actively limiting their right to choose when to start their family. That’s a very real issue and concern for Johnny to have, and I think that’s probably what’s underlying in their conversations that they aren’t showing. I hope they are able to stay together and work it out, they seem like a genuine and kind couple compared to the other ones.
Clay has always given me the same vibe. Like he says things but there is no truth behind his eyes… he’s just saying stuff to please AD or to stay in the show. We haven’t seen much of them spending time at their house because he’s literally never there and I am convinced they did not spend that much time together. If Jimmy disclosed to Chelsea that he slept with someone in the past and they agreed between them to keep that private, because it involves another person who is then going to be exposed and get scrutiny and not really be able to defend themselves, I think that is 100% a good move - even if these people go on the show the viewers are not entitled to know everything about them, you two even spoke highly earlier of Amy and Johnny protecting one another - AND it is absolutely abhorrent Chelsea would bring that up on camera when they had previously agreed out of respect for them and this other person that they would not talk about that.
Additionally, while yes I am sure most of us would have an issue with our finance messaging and hanging out with someone he had previously slept with, the issue here is Chelsea up front pretending like that was fine, even to the point of going to meet them and acting like they would be new besties on camera. And then bringing it up and throwing it in his face later, when they discussed in the fight that she had never told him directly that it was an issue and that she wasn’t okay with it.
I think you're right in your first paragraph about Chelsea being in the wrong for saying that on camera but my thing is like 1. Why is Jimmy bringing on the one person he slept with to meet Chelsea when she already has insecurities 2. That's a lot to drop on someone off air and then directly to her face on air say they've never been physical. Omiting information is one thing but to specifically tell a lie on camera is another thing.

I really can't even figure out why Clay went on this show in the first place. From how invested he said he was in appearance, to this fear of commitment and concern that he's gonna cheat, all of which makes it look like he's not even close to ready for marriage, to anyone.
I have one ex boyfriend who broke up with me because I refused to get on the pill. I'd taken the pill off and on for years, and dealt with issues like spotting, chronic migraines, mood swings, vomiting, and I decided I was freaking done. And condoms were fine with me. He wasn't fine with them, and wound up not being fine with my unwillingness to put my body through that hormonal hell again.
I've been married 22 years now. Two kids, and both of them were on purpose. When we weren't actively trying to conceive, condoms worked fine for my husband and me.
I don't know what's going on with Chelsea. I really initially disliked Jimmy, but the fight she had with him for going out on his friend's birthday... it was weird. Why would anyone not want their partner to celebrate their friends' birthdays? She said she didn't want to be with someone who goes out? It was really confusing, and I'm wondering if there was something missing. Now, I do not think Chelsea is actually manipulative. I think she's immature and that she has a ton of trauma that is still affecting her deeply. Guys please remember that Chelsea said that she is also best friends with an EX-boyfriend so she is being a hypocrite bringing that up. I think Chelsea wants to ruin his relationship with his girl best friend and she probably expected him to stay home with her, but she probably made Jimmy feel like it was okay to go when she really wanted him to stay home. Which is where she is being even more frustrating cause why wouldn’t she just communicate her true feelings and stop trying to be the chill cool girl that she really isn’t. I will and forever despise Chelsea I myself have an avoidant attachment style and I find her ridiculous so I had to find a way to be compassionate to her but it’s truly difficult.

A lot of Jimmy's actions were passive, and the gaslighting was very damaging but subtle, and I find compassion for Chelsea because I have been there, most women are socialized to be on the pick-me spectrum just by virtue of being raised in patriarchial systems where men are authority figures as fathers/bosses, etc and seeking their approval is the default, until we find healing. Chelsea is responsible for finding that healing, and doing what it takes to raise her self esteem, and actually be straight with Jimmy about what she wants. She falsely sold him an easy time, and he picked her over Jess for that reason.

That tells me they discovered that they are better off as friends rather than lovers. Chelsea is the bigger risk if you want to pull straws on this particular issue. The issue with ex’s is that the door isn’t closed. So because she doesn’t seem to message her ex as often as she suspects Jimmy to be doing with his friend. Remember she is all speculation on the daily texting btw. And we see how she let her insecurities run and create a narrative. I don’t trust her account of what is truly happening. She is bat shit crazy.
The supposed risk is still very equal as she can text her ex at anytime in the name of friendship when she thinks Jimmy isn’t satisfying her emotional needs. It’s still equal and that argument of the frequency on how often she messages her ex is a bs take on the issue. The frequency isn’t the issue it’s the access and Chelsea can tap into that access whenever she pleases. She seems like the type to do that by the way.
BTW, Jimmy invited her to go with him to his friend’s bday, and she declined. Jimmy also told her who was there. His frat boys and their girlfriends. So Chelsea is the issue. Jimmy did good here. Chelsea is a very manipulative person. She is definitely the spouse you see on an episode of Snapped! While I’m not saying Jimmy is an Angel but Chelsea is bat shyt crazy and shouldn’t date. Ultimately, I don't know what is true, even if it wasn't edited, I have my biases and lenses through which I miss certain things while fixating on other things. I engage to try and understand these characters because my opinions on them are a direct reflection of my real life, whoever i'm most accepting or judgmental of tells me what parts of myself are hidden from me, and my blindspots. If seeing them play out in other people riles me up so much, I must already be judging myself or feeling shame for being that way.
