@@thatguy2nice It's not as direct as that. It's more like people who have traumatic childhoods are more likely to make poor life choices. She should have asked him if he's cheated in every relationship he's been in. If the answer is yes, she can be as certain she's gonna get cheated on as she would an alcoholic is gonna keep drinking. If you have childhood trauma and instead of going to therapy and working on yourself, you harm everyone you come in contact with, then that's no longer your parents fault. There is a point where it's on you to do better. I'm betting Chelsea is the hot mess she is due to childhood trauma. AD admits she chases after red flags like they are gonna sell out tomorrow because of her own childhood trauma. If you can identify and articulate why you're a hot mess, then you should also be able to articulate what you're doing to get yourself together rather than running these streets being messy.

From any bum. Notice how the vast majority of women picked up that Matthew is likely dangerous and backed away and she walked towards the flame like she's incapable of feeling heat? It seems she doesn't think very highly of herself and so she gravitates towards the bottom of the barrel. But these guys are on the bottom for a good reason. Leave them there.
It's sad, but she really does think she could fix him so anything he said or did would have been fixed after they were married getting the help he needed while she stood by him as his wife. She could have ended up exactly like Clay's Mom if he had said yes.

the way clay's dad started crying to rita as if he didnt cheat on her for nearly 20 years is CRAAAAZY, and im so glad she stood up for herself. she seems like such a genuine, kind, wise woman & i love how she showed so much respect for AD kind of like she knows her son is just like his father. she seemed to want to protect AD's heart, even to the point of telling clay do not do this to this girl if you're not 100% in. she's a real one
Clays dad sounded like he was coaching him in a game. Just very non helpful and not trying. I saw disappointment on clays face that looked normal with an interaction with his dad. Its so very sad. My dad died when i was young but i was close to him and remember him giving hugs and comforting me. Clays dad gave the most hands off approach ive seen .

i think she has a pattern of measuring her worth in how much she can fix another person. She felt like she wasn’t able to fix Clay enough in the time they had until the wedding and to her that means she was not enough for him because she wasnt able to magically eradicate all of his issues. I think what she did for him was great, he literally said he was going go start therapy which is huge. I’m glad they did not get married because the therapist dynamic is not healthy. I hope Clay really does go to therapy and work on himself.

Love that you pointed out that Jimmy is real comfortable painting Chelsea as crazy and blaming her for everything, that man is slippery. I can’t lie, I skipped Johnny and Amy’s wedding on my first watch of the episode. But on the second watch I didn’t. And I could tell they were getting married by the little details at their wedding. It felt real.
I skipped too 😅 I was 100% sure that they would marry so I decided to save my time 😂 but i'll back to watch bc they're cute
I haven't even watched the show but just by the way the guests were sitting & smiling you could tell there was no doubt that both of the couple would say yes and that they were really at a true wedding not some fucked up stage for drama.
Johnny and his one friend are probably in a much better spot mentally. Let’s keep in mind these “friends” of Clay are the same ones he said are all cheaters… quality over quantity.

Yes his father’s behavior definitely influenced him, the infidelity trips probably traumatized him, but he’s a GROWNNNN MAN and can make better decisions but chooses not to. It may not be a matter of genetics but as far as lack of healthy behavioral models history is typically bound to repeat itself. This has happened over and over again, not just throughout mankind but very much so in every single persons family who does not have good examples. It arguably is more common to repeat the terrible pattern than to break it. And some of yall be acting like therapy is God lmfao. Therapy does not heal a person who does not want to be healed. I’ve seen so many people in therapy still out here crazy af, no change. Too many of yall are reducing layers and layers of complexity.

Idk if its because his dad seems to be living through his son and but then the trauma of seeing his father be a terrible person to his mother but I couldn't help but notice that every conversation he had with AD he was talking in circles of wanting to be a better person but then also not believing he can or he is. And AD also has self esteem issues. There is no reason for a relationship to end and then you automatically connect it to your self worth. They both need help.
