    Gotta keep in mind that this may have factory or dealer incentives, which may differ based on region, and will likely have annual sales and previous year model sales. Just checked my local region and it currently comes with 0.9% financing and a $2k discount. Definitely still pricey, but that's to be expected with BMWs. The 330i has a $3500 discount, taking the purchase price down a bit more than the 330e, but as soon as you include the federal tax credit, the 330e should still come in at a sizable discount to the 330i, even more so in states with EV tax credits. Why anyone would buy a 330i over this is anyone's guess. Maybe either availability or ignorance that the 330e even exists?
    With nightly charging and using the full battery daily, annual gas savings alone could be worth ~$900 a year. It'll likely require fewer oil changes and will require fewer brake pad replacements... and the car should last longer overall. I imagine it can be pre-heated in the garage using an electric heater (please verify before trying), something the 330i can't do. It can start every day with a full battery, reducing trips to the gas station. Range is enough for some drivers to be 100% electric on their commutes, and that can include more drivers with workplace charging. What's not to like? I think it's probably rare for anyone buying a 330 to be all that concerned about a slight reduction in storage space.
    In warmer climates, range will exceed the quoted range. EPA factors in colder temperatures. It could lose some range in colder climates, maybe 20%-30% on really cold days. Of course, gas mileage would also suffer in an ICE, but you can't pre-heat the car in the garage using the plug as the energy source. Again, I'm assuming here with the 330e based on how other PHEVs work.

    I have the 21 BMW 330E and absolutely love it. We have a Model Y as well. Great to have both as they are fun to drive for completely different reasons.

      BMW is the one you want to be in and enjoy. Model Y is soul crushing cheap and just too plain and basic. Point A to B car strictly, no joy.

    8:41 are you sure it’s not possible with iPhone? BMW was featured in Apple’s keynote when they launched Car Keys in Wallet. So any new BMW should support it. Perhaps what’s new with this 3 series is just that it’s the first to support Samsung’s car key feature.
    Edit: they call it BMW Digital Key.

    I'll keep the 40 miles on battery our 2018 CT6 2.0E plug-in gets. And then when in hybrid mode gets 35 mpg hwy, 40 mpg city.

    Love this car it was the first plug in car I drove (2017). Hated electric cars before I drove it and it made me change my mind. I think of it as my gateway ev 🤣😂 I think the A Class saloon is better now as it has CCS plug and can do 45 miles on electric only.

    I àm currently trying to decide between a 330e and Tesla model 3. The only reason considering bmw 330e is the dealer is giving me $2k military discount and there is $5,836 fed tax incentive. Both cars $49,540……but bmw would be almost $8k cheaper. So torn on what to do. Anyone have any suggestions?

    • @joyousenoful
      @joyousenoful 2 года назад +2

      I ruled out the model 3 for myself after thinking I’d definitely order one. Rented one for a week and I didnt love the full touchscreen on the model 3, I find it distracting and like I’m driving a computer. It’s fast as hell in a straight line but didn’t hug curves that well and felt a little unsteady. It’s also a stiffer ride than I like. Finally I do get range anxiety even with the large battery so I realized I wasn’t ready to commit to a full EV as this would be my only car.

    Hi Kyle, since you have a model 3 yourself How would you choose between the two cars?
    I am currently picking between model 3 standard plus vs the 330e xDrive. AWD is important to me as its snowy here during winter and the BMW being 8-10k USD more expensive(maybe less if i reduce the options I've chosen).

    the reason lexus places buttons differently is because they orient differently in Asia, most japanese manufacturers do that. Its like apple does with computers, complete opposite to what the majority does, except asia might run more cars than the west

    The controls do make sense. Until you get to the sunroof. I had to (OH NO) open the owner's manual. I felt my manhood dwindle
    Also this car does not look good in white. Mine is "Sunset Orange". I was also drawn to the blue, but the cognac leather really compliments the orange.

    I can’t imagine it being great for combustion engine to be called into action at any time during kick down even when it is cold. This is a problem with all hybrids and not just the bmw. I don’t think these cars will be very reliable once they are out warranty and on the second hand market.
