I charge at home but will often use the free charging stations at supermarkets. If a BEV owner was in desperate need I'd allow them to use the charger before me if they asked me courteously. If they demanded to use it that'd be a different matter. But the vast majority of BEV drivers are a nice bunch, so I agree with you. But one thing to bear in mind, is that many PHEV drivers in urban areas - myself included here in London - only visit a petrol station 2 or 3 times a year. A lot of the time I have only fumes in the petrol tank, so sometimes when I'm out and about I actually _need_ the charger as much as anyone else. Rare but it can happen.

IMO, owning a PHEV is more about how much gas you're saving, rather than how many miles you're driving on electric. Although maximizing electric miles is important to that end, and is a fun metric to look at. I like to say that my gas use has dropped 90%+ from my last vehicle because I drive almost exclusively in electric mode, but when I do drive on gas, my fuel economy is 15 mpg higher than my last car, so I'm saving fuel on long trips even when I'm using the ICE.
I disagree. At least in the case of my 2019 Volt, I get the same ownership experience as a BEV on any given day. Great torque, quiet ride, no need to go to the gas station, charge up at home, etc. The only ownership difference for me is when taking a road trip, which some might argue is more convenient in the PHEV than a BEV. Of course that isn't the reason I bought a Volt. I like the body style. Had there been a BEV in a similar style at a similar price, I would have probably gone with that.
Yes, they should be allowed to charge at public stations. The crime is driving / owning a PHEV without charging... just a less efficient gasoline hybrid at that point.
They should be allowed to charge... but they don't need to be charged at public chargers to significantly reduce emissions. I've never charged outside of my home and have reduced my gas use from my previous ICE by about 90-95%. Chevy Volt.

$100 save per month= $1200 for 10 years, $10200 great car excellent 👏.. but catch here is after 10 years high voltage batter replacement cost around $10000 woth labour. Then how did its benefit the customer with hybrid high maintenance costs than the combustion engine ? High voltage battery is battery at the end battery will die and needs to replace 😤

The ‘myBMW’ app summary for calendar year 2023 recorded 11,322 kilometres travel with 55% eDrive. I burned 328.7 litres of petrol. That’s 2.9 litres per 100 kilometres average, or in the old money 97.4 miles per gallon. The allegedly super economical ‘EcoPro’ mode has never been used, because where’s the fun in that? And air conditioning has never been switched off. Very happy.
Should PHEVs be allowed at public charging stations? Yes. I wouldn't have leased my A3 e-tron if I couldnt. I use no gas 95% of the time I drive if I can get a charging spot at work, which in 2018 when I got the car was every day. High speed chargers near the highway however, I don't think should be allowed. We have our ICEs for long distance driving.
Looks terrible in white. Mine is Sunset Orange and strangers compliment it all the time. The major flaw for this car is the 4 cylinder exhaust note. It sounds like a Civic. And yes, the brakes are very touchy, you need a light foot on them. Since the car slows off throttle like a manual geared car, i'm always on the mirror for tailgaters.

On a lease it’s more expensive a it’s newer so I couldn’t have afforded it anyway, but it does make me a little envious. I’d be interested to know if you have driven one of those.

Plug in have definetly the right to use a public charging station.the real problem is free charging that's the reel problem.when im skiing i cant plug my car,not once this season even when im like 30 min before the slopes open there always plug in vehicule or full elextricand they dont move when there donne.Peoples have no fucking respect the only thing they understand is $$$$.I say no more free charging and boom!! Thoughts on how the drivers assistance compares to other systems? Auto-pilot, Super cruise, and others... specifically in highway driving? Thomas from autogefühl once made a claim that he believed the German drivers assistance systems felt smoother than Tesla's system. I doubt he ever tested super cruise.

It has to do the worthy difference of drive cycle used for testing. EPA have a open higher speed roads making US number seem lower. The euro drive cycle has the main drive cycle 40-50mph for extended periods and short 70mph cycle.

The ADAS system is capable of changing lanes automatically. Maybe you could do a video on this system?
So now that you’ve had this 330e for a while. What’s your average MPG currently ? Assuming your charging all the time and running in hybrid mode.

You can get a Volvo XC 40 hybrid to log the mileage and test it on a road trip.
