Pull the return hose (top of the resevoir) and connect a secondary hose to it that goes to a waste container, run the engine, turn steering stop to stop once. Stop engine. That will purge all the old fluid before refilling. Per the service manual. What you're doing is fine, but obviously mixes more of the old fluid with the new.

You are 100% right. I'll take a look at the manual. I thought I was for sure wasting new fluid, which I hate to do. Thanks a lot.
