I think this may have been shortly around the time of her divorce from Lyzel (the muse of this song).
There is also the House of Blues performance of this song.. where she starts operatic...and laugh in song-notes...and then the song transitions into a disco beat.

I just stumbled on this reaction video and decided to watch it. When this Jill Scott album came out I was in my late 20s. I had just started dating a woman who would later become one of my best relationships. Jill Scott was fairly unknown to the world at that time. So, we explored her and each other while morphing pass the infancy of adulthood and learning how to proactively better ourselves. Finding our meaning with each other as well as internally. This album was the first soundtrack of our bond and set the stage perfectly for us as we moved parallel through the lows but mostly highs of that experience. When I listen to it today, it is still as powerful and rich as it was back then and is by far my favorite of all of her music.

This is one of the GREATEST artists of the 2000s....I met Jill Scott unknowingly when I was with my church choir. And while waiting for her to come out I sat next to this captivating woman with the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. While I sat there with her ( pre youtube ) I didn't know what she looked like and I believed she knew that so she didn't want to draw attention to herself. When I told her I cannot wait to hear Jill Scott sing she simply said "Really?? Well, I hope you get to see her." And that was it. Later on, the MC told the crowd that they're about to bring out Jill Scott and of course I was excited.... UNTIL, 👀 I saw that it was the same woman!!!! Ah man 😔 😟 I didn't know, but it was so sweet how she didn't come across as arrogant or entitled.... especially cause she was creating a buzz with her debut album. Such a great moment and the rest was history. She performed this song 🎵 live and it was breath taking.
