Started to rewatch this show one year later. My God, the memories are flooding back. I'll never forget the time during the first lockdown watching this show comfortably in bed. What a masterful show. Good times.

If you are meant to be friends, it can only happen once all feelings are gone, maybe in like 5 years. Hopefully by then you will realize you don’t even want to be friends them have better people in your life.

I bumped into an ex 4 times after I blocked him, within the space of a month and a half. I kid you not. It was very awkward esp since he kept texting me. 😑
I actually think he loved her so much it was almost painful and it's why he pulled away. He was so shy and repressed he couldn't let himself fully commit to her because he knew it was the real deal and he couldn't let himself be that vulnerable. Interestingly he says I love you multiple times in the series, she only says it once. By the end of the series, once he's had his breakdown, they've done a full 180 from the start - he is far more reliant on her and she has gained the self confidence to follow her own happiness and do what's best for both of them.

I don't think you're looking at the story in its entirety. It's quite obvious towards the end that there are no good or bad guys. It's 2 broken, young, inexperienced, vulnerable people, stumbling and fumbling through a maze of modern millenial life.

@@nicolarollinson4381 From my point of view, I have seen many movies and TV series of this genre but Normal People has something extra. The actors play the chemistry between Marianne and Connell beautifully, and the plot is engaging. That is why it is one of my favorite series. I recommend it

I never wear my glasses in the grocery store. That way if my ex is there, I probably won't recognize her.
