In my head cannon, they’ll meet again when older and wiser and more settled, after Marianne gets everything wonderful she deserves in life, and Connell has the courage to pursue her above all other desires. And in 15 years we can have a sequel with these two wonderful actors, and it’ll be glorious, kind of like the Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy trilogy.

This is still one of the most profoundly beautiful and powerful series that I've ever watched. It really impacted me and it felt like the story was genuinely written to perfectly mirror my school/university life. It was like watching a film of myself through Connell.

If so, it's definitely worth a binge. BTW, this edit is very much the PG version - there's plenty of nudity and tender love making (plus some disturbing acts). Aside from the hauntingly beautiful story and high quality production, all senior high school students should watch it because it deals really well with youth angst, peer pressure and consent. It also contrasts healthy vs toxic relationships in a memorable way. We need content like this, to counteract the scourge that is internet porn. The adolescents and young men who watch Normal People will likely have more satisfying relationships and sex lives - and this can only be a good thing for the girls and women they lust over.
The part from 4:15 was just so beautifully edited and heart-wrenching. The combination of the words Connell is saying, matched with the music, and Marianne's soulful eyes at 4:24 is deeply moving. Thank you.

He kind of even looked like Connel, and a couple of people have said that i look like Daisy Jones. (What are the chances lol) But, after high school ended, we would hit each other up on and off via text but neither of us ever committed to seeing the other person irl. He would write "i miss you's" and i would respond, but then he would go mia. Sometimes i did too. I think we were both scared. Now too much time has passed and my feelings have slipped away. But...i think deep down, he will always be my first love. :( Nobody comforted me, understood me, joked with me, looked at me, talked with me the same way that he did. We just clicked. Perhaps we weren't meant to be anything more than platonic, and that's okay
If you ever want to talk more I would love to talk to you because I honestly don’t think as much as I explain it to someone no one will understand how deeply I felt even though it was exactly like this. Even those small moments can be so impactful 💔

LOVE and HATED this book and series. Been married 25 years and a few failed relationships before I can tell you and anyone who has been in a relationship can relate the those moments when you feel like a total stranger to that person laying next to you who you think is all you live for. This story encapsulates that pretty well. Also the poor souls who get mixed in between fucked up toxic relationships, like collateral souls, love sucks, but who can live without?
I want to thank the creators of this show. The show how it stole my mind in the scenes and situations I really loved it. Because of mistakes we often have to give away the people we love so much, this show translates that so effectively and importantly what I want to believe in unconditional love this show make me someway believe it can be found someway.

i recommend also reading the book, is way darker and you get to view a little bit more of how each of their minds work. the book broke me down in million pieces and so did the series, it is by far one of my favorite books of all times. paul and daisy did the best job out there playing connell and marianne and portraying how complicated and real they are.
Am I crazy to think that it was not a sad ending? I love Marianne and Connel together, but we can’t say that they were the priorities of each other, or the biggest dreams, so I truly believe that it was a happy ending, because she got the normal life that she always dreamed of, and so did he, he never believed that he was good at anything and then he had a whole new world opening up for him at ny proving him wrong, they both finally found the value for their existence, and that was obviously outside of each other. And because of all of that I truly believe that they’ll find each other, they’ll never settle for anyone, what they feel for each other will never be only gratitude, it’s love, real love, normal love, love that normal people deserve, the love that stays, even though they grow as they go, their love stays.
this is - to date - the best edit i have seen of the show. it just grabs you in the same way that watching it does, emotions and all. Not a lot of people can do that in their videos. You've made a piece of art.♥

LOVE and HATED this book and series. Been married 25 years and a few failed relationships before I can tell you and anyone who has been in a relationship can relate the those moments when you feel like a total stranger to that person laying next to you who you think is all you live for. This story encapsulates that pretty well. Also the poor souls who get mixed in between fucked up toxic relationships, like collateral souls, love sucks, but who can live without?
it feels like i've lived their lives too. so haunting yet so beautiful 😭

Because of mistakes we often have to give away the people we love so much, this show translates that so effectively and importantly what I want to believe in unconditional love this show make me someway believe it can be found someway.

i recommend also reading the book, is way darker and you get to view a little bit more of how each of their minds work. the book broke me down in million pieces and so did the series, it is by far one of my favorite books of all times. paul and daisy did the best job out there playing connell and marianne and portraying how complicated and real they are.

Am I crazy to think that it was not a sad ending? I love Marianne and Connel together, but we can’t say that they were the priorities of each other, or the biggest dreams, so I truly believe that it was a happy ending, because she got the normal life that she always dreamed of, and so did he, he never believed that he was good at anything and then he had a whole new world opening up for him at ny proving him wrong, they both finally found the value for their existence, and that was obviously outside of each other.
And because of all of that I truly believe that they’ll find each other, they’ll never settle for anyone, what they feel for each other will never be only gratitude, it’s love, real love, normal love, love that normal people deserve, the love that stays, even though they grow as they go, their love stays.
