Prelim year to Categorical match: USMLE Residency journey, old graduate

Prelim is not for all IMGs. Only for people with work visas, Greencards, or citizens. Prelim almost guarantees a residency slot. Same as transitional year. Prelim /transitional year gets you into the system because it removes the old YOG disadvantage. Congrats to him.
