Does taking a year break after final year, before internship and going for 12 months of electives in general surgery help boost our CV enough to match into categorical general surgery? Is that better than going for a post doctoral research fellowship?
    Thanks!

If you have high scores then match in categorical may be possible without prelim

    Great.
    Very inspiring video.
I have been told many times that it is impossible for an IMG to match into surgical specialties in the US.
I am a trainee surgeon in my home country who is dreaming of training in the US.
How can I obtain a research position in the US from here which I can then use on my way to US General Surgery residency?.
    Thank you.

    Great video,
As NEXT is implemented in India by NMC where NEXT 2 must be taken after 1 year of internship .
So, will it be possible to take break in internship to do electives?

Will repeating a year in medical school affect the matching for residency in general surgery?
