Wow! Its very inspiring to see an IMG match at Johns Hopkins for surgery. Now I feel like my journey it also possible! Thanks Dr. Assad and Dr. Alsaad.
Your channel is the only thing which makes me believe that i can match into a surgical residency as an IMG if i work hard enough. Your channel is the only hope to keep me going. Thank you so much😁
After using first aid twice and failing, I never knew i could ever pass the Exam anymore but today I am very happy, I just passed my test on my third attempt with a great help for MRS CATHERINA ALISON
Thanks to my friend that introduce me to her last week. Am happy the way she process her materials and how you will prepare yourself too for your coming exams.
Dr. Assad your channel is great and your guest was amazing! good luck to both of you in residency and can’t wait to see more. Both of you are an inspiration to what believing in ones self looks like. Stay Blessed.
Thank you very much Dr. Malke, and Dr. Raniem, this content is a pure GOLD, keep it up Drs, and I hope you keep enriching us about your experiences. Thabk you again....
Anybody who isn't mentioning their step score does not have that great a score frankly. But a lot of people from middle East seem to match into such programs. Catch being they have overcome war and everything and the university needs representation. While it is impresive that can't be the only criteria.
@@thewhitecoat2847 yea that is so evident, especially when she said she prepared for only 4 weeks for step 1 and wrote her step 2 roughly a month later. A major red flag
Hi. Thank you so much for the informative videos. I had a question: How does one check if a program has been accepting their prelims? You mentioned a list of stats for this. Can you please post a link?
Thank you so much Dr. Malke Asaad for this amazing video, and Dr. Ranim Alsaad for sharing tips to match to gen surgery! Similar to the barriers Dr. Ranim overcame to get to her goal, I face gender bias in my home country as a female IMG pursuing a spot for general surgery. But I'm working hard and am hopeful, and want it make it! What is the best way to get involved in research in surgical branch if I have already graduated from medical school? Is it too late to start research now, because I was not fortunate enough to get research opportunities?
How much does years of graduation matter in surgery residency? Someone who has done phd will have high years of graduation but can have a strong resume with publications n presentations.

@@thewhitecoat2847 where did you get that info? And btw, Jordan hasn't had any wars or uprisings since the 70s and it's a peacful country

I have a question
How did she find the time to do elective in the final year ?
What is the mean no. Of abstracts presentation and publication she had before match
Hi. Thank you so much for the informative videos. I had a question: How does one check if a program has been accepting their prelims? You mentioned a list of stats for this. Can you please post a link?
This is not usually data that is shared on websites. You have to ask residents in the program what is the general tradition/ culture in the program.
Thank you but how much does it cost and she didnt do research which is good cuz i dont have that kind of money i only need usce 😢
Inspired and enlightened
Can you do an interview with an IMG who has got into Orthopedic residency in the US?
I have one already
Do you have recommendation for additional resources if you want to learn more about general surgery during medical school?
Pls make video about ENT.
Simple and informative
Thanks for this interview.... Is it possible to match cardiac surgery after step 2 or i have to match general surgery first

Thank you and wish you best luck on your journey. I have another video on how to find research positions.
I couldn't do electives when I was in medschool so do I have no chances of matching into residency in the US now?
Thank you for your continued tips, does home country surgical residency help to go for surgery?
might help but your time might be better spend in the US
Thank you so much
