Firstly, Big congrats, Malke! This is a huge achievement! Inspirational indeed!
      What's your year of graduation?
And If I'm doing basic research now, not clinical, is that a minus thing?
Matching into competitive specialities could take years, I could bet that you could have matched into medicine years ago if you wanted! I know it's worth the wait of course, but how bad is it being an old grad?
I would appreciate it if you could give me a quick answer till you make a detailed video.
      Thanks and Congrats again. Mabrook.

Big fat congratulations !!! you've worked really hard and you made it , you are really a sustainable source of inspiration for me 🥰🥰😂😂😂
I am currently studying medicine in one of the countries that are going to lose thier ECFMG accreditation by 2024 which will prevent me from doing USMLE step1
The issue is that i am stil in my very first semester , and by that time i will have just finished my 3rd year , my question is
Should i start studying my courses curriculm before my I study it at college
, is that even possible ???cause I will have to cram 2 semesters in the other 4
thank you for your consideration and it would a lot to me if you answered my question ,,

As-salamu alaykum brother and congratulations. I want to ask one simple question. Can we do electives after the graduation? You said that electives can be done when we are medical students and after graduation we get only observership. So is there any chance of getting into electives after graduation? Please answer my question. Once again congratulations.

    my question is:
when it comes to research and electives, one of the most important part of doing them is having a very settled financial statement which definitely has a HUGE impact whether in making dicistions or paying for electives.etc, so how much it cost you to do all that?

  • @Faudi99
    @Faudi99 3 года назад +1

First of all congratulations Dr. Assad for your achievement, you definitely earned it. My question for you, as we all know getting into any surgery department in the US is hugely competitive especially for IMGs. It's very annoying when I think of it, as I am very afraid not getting the chance to match into a surgery program after working hard and moving into the US. Most of the things you mentioned that are important other than the USMLEs scores are hard to obtain in other countries, or they might be simply not acknowledged or recognized by the US institutions. So it is kind of very confusing. I don't know if whether shall I take the risk and move into the US to be able to obtain such accreditations (LOR, research programs, etc ...) What would be your advice

Please I gonna suggest some topics that really matter to us as medical students or doctors want to continue their journey in US, and do not be like many other RUclips channels that saying the obvious all the time, so :-
1- how to get a research positions ( and especially online positions regarding these COVID-19 pandemic)
2- how to get electives and its costs (like literally 😅 where should I start )
    3- how to write CV
4- visa status and how to choose a suitable visa type
Thank you and good luck 👍

Question is, how did you managed financing the research years? / are there any paid research positions for visa requiring IMGs?

No one ever answer you about that. Simply there is rich people who can spend 4 years without working anf have the money to live and eat in USA. And you have to pay money to make electives too.

As a 6 years old graduate with decent enough usmle scores as in 240s and 250s, do I have any chance of matching into surgery? If I try and do all the things that you have done? Please care to answer my question. Best regards...
