Pak Martin. Since you are in Jogja, please make a video about Gudeg, it is a traditional food originally from Jogja. There are a lot of Gudeg stalls/restaurants in Jogja.
in Indonesian restaurants, if you feel like you order too much food, you can always take home the leftovers :) my family always does that. we'll then warm the food at the morning and have them as breakfast :)

We toured West Sumatra to see Minang culture, countryside, and enjoy Minang food. The homestays amongst the ricefields in the valleys were a highlight. Afterwards, we visited Ubud in Bali and finally mall and museum hopping in Jakarta. We definitely enjoyed the villages and countryside the most! (though fancy A/C in the hotels and malls provided relief)

usually Indonesia family restaurant give a portion for 3-4 people for fish, chicken, beef, shrimp, seafood, and vegetable menu(except rice and noodle, they only serve single portion)

about the leftover, that happens a lot. So most of the time you could tell the waitress to wrap your leftover to bring them home, maybe try that next time. very nice video thank you for the share.

If I'm not mistaken, there is similar food in America for capcay which is available in Chinese Restaurant. It's called Cop Suy.
The prices on the menu might have been a clue to the portion size. Seeing a price of 33.000 for a dish when your previous review was under 20.000 for the whole family raised a warning flag for me.

Most of the time, when we (Indonesian people) eat in a restaurant and can't finish our food, we'll ask the waitress to wrap the rest of it, so we can take it away
(I Don't know the exact word but it's called di bungkus/ take away)

Recently I found myself missing it and stumbled across your channel. iya pak betul, kalau terlihat terlalu banyak bisa di bungkus sisa nya, atau kalau di rasa terlalu banyak yg belum di makan langsung minta di bungkus saja, tidak masalah pak dan tidak kena biaya tambahan, karna kan sayang kalau tidak termakan habis..

Frog eggs? lol.. no, they are "selasih", it is basil seeds. Basil seeds will swell up being immersed in water.

Julie maybe something to think about whenever you're eating out bring tupperware/container so you can take home the left over food?
you dont necessarily need to bring a container or something. you can always tell them to have the leftovers to take away. depends on the restaurant, either they will put them inside clear plastic bags or inside some styrofoam boxes...cheers

Pak Martin!! I was wondering if you and your family have ever tried Angkringan yet. Gerobaknya kaya gerobak nasi goreng yang ada di pinggiran jalan. Biasanya diangkringan ada jahe, susu panas, etc. Ada juga 'nasi kucing', bukan nasi untuk kucing tapi nasi yang porsinya sangat kecil... It's open only at night. I usually eat dinner at Angkringan when I'm on a low budget lol. :)
lah makan di angkringan malah lebih mahal dari pada di warung nasi rames/warteg, mbak. It is much cheaper to eat in warung ramesan, since you could add rice (which makes you more full) for free, eventhough you only order one slice of tempe. hehehe... of course if you are not feeling embarrassed only by ordering the cheapest menu in the warung.

Did you have to pay for the Sambal? beause the largst portion of sambal i have seen given for a meal. the food looks good.
