So much amazing food to come from this artsy, college, food packed city!
I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without my friend Andre. Andre is one of the most influential food bloggers in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas. You can find his work in places like:

The final day!!!!
Started off with some good ole Jogja comfort food, Gudeg. A young jackfruit simmered down in coconut, palm sugar, and other spices! I went to one of the most popular places in Jogja for this and it did not disappoint at all! Super sweet, but when combined together, was well balanced.
Next up, a rice stall that is over 100 years old! Not only was the food delicious enough to make me understand why and how they had been open for that long, but they are just extremely friendly people, and the prices is definitely right!
It was time to take a break and what better break in Jogja than Kopi Joss! Pretty much two ways you can get it and I must say I was surprised at the sweetness of both types!
Lastly, I decided to change things up and go for some Indo-Chinese food. A restaurant that is the go to place for when you need that Chinese food fix. However, I didn’t quite enjoy some dishes as they just aren’t my favorite style; however, I will say they cooked the food perfectly and if you did need that Chinese food fix, that would be the place to go in Jogja.

Just a guy from Arkansas chasing his dreams of traveling the world, meeting amazing people, and trying all the delicious food I can find!
Recently finished working in Hong Kong. I am from a small farm in the states, I am now taking advantage and the opportunities I have to travel the world in search of some of the most delicious foods, unique places, and friendliest people.
A lover of street food, good laughs, and learning about other cultures. I hope to indulge in all these things and more as I bring you along with me on my epic journeys.

My final video from Yogyakarta! Wow, over the course of the time I was here, I really learned to love this university city. Lots of great food, college town vibes, and a center for classical Javanese fine arts and culture. If you are a foodie, this is a must go to spot in Indonesia!

Some said that people speak fast because the blood is move fast in their brain 😂😂😂 so if they speak slower the blood stop move , it's fatal
Do you believe me?
I'm sure someday you will miss it all and want to go back to Indonesia. there are still many types of Indonesian food that you haven't tried. Indonesia is a food paradise.

Hey Bert, it's been more than 3 weeks since we last saw you with Max hitting the carinderias of Manila. Have you any plans of vlogging your own adventures in the Philippines? Have you found any organizations that help out kids? Best of luck!
Wow you love eat with chilly. Thank you for your appreciate about Indonesia food 👍❤
Now i need to search for some tempe in Saigon
hard to find some tempe when you all are stuck in that rain storm😂
It's so nice seeing someone esp foreigner who isnt being picky about food and even tried the very2 traditional food, some Indonesian youtuber prefer mall food or big restaurant food instead for their content
This is the stuff I love right here. Hole in the wall, mom and pop, local food
I never dropped any comments on videos before, but this time I just have to. Love how you eat like a local and fluently talk abou the food.
Heyyyy! Thanks for the comment!!! But if you comment or not, I am just happy you are enjoying the videos:)

Awe thank you so much for sharing! I am going to do nothing but try and get better and better!
Semoga tetap senang dengan kuliner khas indonesia bung 👍
Such a huge fan of Indonesian food myself and I feel like Indonesian cuisines are such hidden treasures as compared to other more popular Asian dishes ... so, thanks for these videos. #lovemesometempehyall
Yes, but was really surprised with the amount of dishes and types of variety in cuisines you have for Indonesian food! Are you a big Javanese food fan?
@@Macoi24 Yeah, I guess I can say that...and Sumatran maybe. I haven't really encountered dishes from other islands yet. Here in the Netherlands, we have "Indonesian" food, which turns out mainly from Java and Sumatra as I find out. :P
yeah that makes sense! Hope you get to explore Indonesia one day since you like the food so much!
Indonesian food is the best.... I like this vidios.....
Waw yumy yumy
Like that you grab the krupuk from out of the container
that is how they all are! Just reach in and grab as many as you want!
anda sudah mencicipi gudeg "yu djum" yang melegenda...mantapp👍👍

The fried beef meat that you eat in the Bu Spoed is called "Empal Goreng"
You are an expert in eating. I get so appetizing and would like to try everything you have eaten. 👍🏼

Well, when you put it that way I sound like an a$$hole 😂I really am sorry to hear that! I know how that has to just hit the spot for you as it has to be like comfort food!

@@Macoi24 oh I see. I hope you had a great time, here in jogjakarta. I'll be looking forward to your next video 😁
Fascinated by that Kopi Joss!
The charcoal absorb the sour taste of the coffee so the coffee tastes fresher...welcome and enjoy jogja cuisine Max

Your vlogs are gettin better and better! Borubudur looks beautiful 👌🏼 I thought Kopi Joss looks alright until they added the charcoal 😳😬 Only in Indonesia I guess.
hahaha I don't think it really added much where you can tell the difference. And thank you! Still have a long way to go though!
Max McFarlin Congrats in advance! I can see yout YT family is getting bigger in a haste. Who knows I might see you on one of those food channels someday 📺 😀✨
glad to see that you've tried the most famous jogja's food! and you did it in wijilan the central of gudeg jogja! i myself, who live in jogja, never ate there, i prefer side walk vendor that only available in the morning. that portion was too little for me! hahahahahahahaaaa...... and what a wierd way to eat gudeg, you mixed everything together like gado-gado!
haha I tried it separately first though, but then decided to let everything work together!
hope i could accompany u to ate all those foods.. came to Jakarta .. 😁
😭😭 enaknya makan gudeg... I like the kerecek.. it's with sambal😭😭 serious make me wanna
Very nice video 👍👍max❤❤❤❤😉
Awesome 🙏👌🙂
Drooling too much 🤤
Another great video Max. I noticed your tolerance for spicy food has steadily increased since your first video, to now nuclear level!😃 Thanks for never talking with your mouth full like some other food vloggers. Happy traveling, stay safe and keep up the good work! 👍
haha, I guess it has increased. Probably because I am always around chilis now! Of course, I know I dont want to watch mouth full talking so I don't do it.
Thanks for your nice appreciation about my hometown Yogyakarta
😊
My pleasure! I enjoyed it!
Visit in Solo please , is my hometown the foods also taste so good , nasi liwet , timlo , gudeg , , soto ayam etc , i live in texas wanna go home i missed street vendor foods :(

Its been an interesting choices Max.. very unique
Yeah! I wanted to mix it up at the end!
I love Jogjakarta 😍😍
me too
Hear ye hear ye, Max has 72,000 subscribers now! Congratulations, bud. Whenever I see you eating I honestly coudn't get rid of the image of Pac-Man (in my mind) chomping his way through a maze. Before I launch into my usual babble, let me say this is another remarkable vlog. You got us hooked from start to finish. You are a certfied day lark, up to witness the sunrise; such an awe-inspiring view of daybreak from the Borobudur temple. Are we going to see more on IG? I just adore the Indonesian plate wth its medley of flavors, a toss up for dominance between sweetness and spiciness, crunchy krupuk at the side. and almost always an egg sneaking in. Hey, if your inner kid loves trains, mine loves dump trucks. :) I have tried kopi joss sometime ago, DIY at a friend's who had just come back with a bag of murni coffee from Indonesia. We used mangrove charcoal which I think influenced the flavor of the final product so I'm not sure if it was a good imitation. Haha. Did you ask what kind of charcoal they use? It's quite a show when you prepare it in the darkness of night when the embers are glowing with a red and smouldering heat, hissing with that JOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS sound when you plop it into the coffee. Tsk tsk tsk, Max is not very happy with the Chinese food :( I suppose when you have tasted the original, at the source, everything else pales in comparison. You know what that omelette is missing that you couldn't quite put your finger on? It's bagoong. Keep rolling and stay hungry!
hahahahhahaha yes it was missing bagoong😂😂 and that is a really funny story! I oh so much look forward to your comments each time and they some how never disappoint!
Thanks for reviewing obout the 🇮🇩
Can you try come to west sumatera because in there many view amazing and many foods very ledicious
Nice to see u and nice to meet you
Nice to introduce with you brother
it was my pleasure! yes, I wanted to dedicate a whole month out there so I was waiting!
I love your videos Max! Just wish that food vloggers would try out nordic cuisins in Scandinavia. We don’t have alot of spices but we celebrate the pure taste of the ingredients we have, and it can be AMAZING. I come from a vietnamese household but was born and raised in Norway. Both cultures celebrate food in their own way and are amazing with their own flair. Salmon is like an everyday thing here. Gravlax is so normal, so I find it so funny when it’s a “special” food in other parts of the world. If you would consider coming to scandinavia then just reach out. I have apartments in both Norway and Denmark. Would be a pleasure to accommodate you and make sure you get the feel of northern europe. Just keep on doing you Max and know you have fans following your every step:)
Ohhhhh, this is amazing! How can we keep in contact?
You could send me an email to ditbolao@yahoo.no and from there I can give you the address to my main email account. I don’t use any social media apps so this is what I got. I’m old school like that. My friends say that I’m the oldest 30 year old there is😬 Still only use my phone for calls and messages. That way I get to experience the world much more when I’m in the moment:)
I’m from Yogyakarta but Yogyakarta gudeg menu to sweet for me.. 😅😅
Ilove this man!
