- In this video we’re taking the train from Probolinggo to Yogyakarta (Indonesia) in EXECUTIVE CLASS. Ok, Executive Class might not be comparable to business class on an aeroplane, but we had a good time in this more expensive, but also more comfortable class and wanted to share our experience. This video features a more or less comprehensive review of our seats and we review the ready made meals that are available on the train.
In Yogyakarta we go on a tour of Prambanan temple, eat a delicious lunch at an Indonesian buffet restaurant and then… well let's just say that our day exploring Yogyakarta came to an abrupt end. See for yourself!

The official name is "Ngayogyakarta"
Sound "Y" like in "Yandex"
And "Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat" is a palace complex of Sultan of Yogyakarta
The confusion is resulted by changing in spelling system
Dutch east indies (colonial Indonesian) spelling system is similar to dutch, they write Y sound as J, and write J sound as DJ
So Yogyakarta was written as Jogjakarta
Now that Indonesian spelling has been standardized, but people still used to writing Jogja, to the point pronouncing it as Yogya and Jogja is accepted
You'll find alot of this in old stuff, name for example
Our first president name is spelled using old spelling system
Soekarno, Sukarno in new spelling system the "OE" is pronounced as "U"
You'll also sometimes find phrase as "tempo doeloe"
Tempo dulu : old age
But people write it using old spelling system to stylized it

Yeah you have to try the "superior train" that means it's faster, more comfortable, and there is live cooking on the train so you can enjoy the food on the train more fresh and tastier👍🏻 If you are from Yogyakarta to Bandung you can take the Argo Wlis train, If you are from Yogyakarta to Jakarta, you can take the Argo Dwipangga train, Argo Lawu train, and Taksaka train, but it is recommended that you take Argo Lawu and Taksaka because you leave early in the morning. Or if you are from Jakarta and want to go to Surabaya you can feel the "#1" train in Indonesia Argo Bromo Anggrek👍🏻 And of all these trains there is also a Luxury class that offers like on a plane

The luxury and most expensive train in Indonesia called "KERETA WISATA" I have ridden once in 2018, if I remember it, the price is at least 1,500 USD - 10.000 USD for a one-way ticket. The train that I mentioned has a super luxurious and exclusive room, even like a house there are complete facilities. The train is not commercially available, must be booked on station.
"KERETA WISATA" That's the name I know. Where is the most superior, exclusive, luxurious, amazing and complete train in Indonesia. Maybe people don't know about this train, because the ordering method is different because it's not on the commercial price list.
Price List KERETA WISATA.
1.500 USD = Rp.25.000.000
10.000 USD = Rp.77.000.000
Prices vary according to distance and facilities.

you can try to mbloc, hutan kota di senayan, Pluit Indah Kapuk beach, labu bajo, bali, cikole forest lembang in west java, mount tangkuban parahu, telaga saat puncak in Puncak, Kopi Langitan (Kapilih) in bogor, Pelangi Cafe & Resto in bogor (west java). Puncak Halimun Camp Bogor (rent camping) so can see bigger mountain from above, also see great mountain in Bromo, east java. can see plateaus in dieng mount, central java.

It is usually served as topping for Nasi Goreng / fried rice dish, Ayam Geprek dish, Martabak Telor/ Egg Martabak, Sate Ayam/ Chicken Satay dish and etc.

It's whether Jogja or Yogyakarta not Jogjakarta.
Executive class is not the first class of Indonesia railway transport.
There are several upper classes above the executive like luxury class (sleeper), priority class, and tourism train.
But these types of class are only available on few trains such as Argo Bromo Anggrek (Jakarta Gambir - Surabaya Pasar Turi), Bima (Gambir - Surabaya Gubeng), and other flagship trains.
If you have any upcoming opportunities, I recommend you to try Luxury class.

Its spelled Yogyakarta (yogya = peace, karta = prosperous), sometimes people write it and spell it as Jogjakarta or Jogja or Djogja because the influence of Old Indonesian Spellings (J = Y, Dj = J).

The most expensive train in Indonesia is the name "KERETA WISATA". I've been to Indonesia and tried the train, it's really amazing in terms of decoration and service. Because these trains are specially provided and have high ticket prices (Range 1000 USD - 5,000) 1 ticket.
KERETA LUXURY in Indonesia are middle class trains, not exclusive trains.

The food on local train had been an issue since a long time ago, i mean the price compare to the taste and quality, and until now they haven't improved it yet. That's why so many people bring food (also drinks) from outside and eat it during the journey instead of buying food on the train. So. definitely you are not alone having the same "review", LoL
