I love Metallicas version, because they basically made a party metal version out of it, similiar to Whiskey in the Jar, which is actually one of my favourite songs of them.

One thing you have to know about the Misfits (while Glen Danzig was in the band) was that his lyrics were intentionally meant to be both shocking and sarcastic--he never meant a word of what he said, he was looking to get a reaction. He once sang "I killed a baby today, and it didn't matter much to me"---he just wanted to get a reaction
That's not true. He has specifically stated his songs are not at all dishonest, and they're sincere. His songs have so many double meanings that the masses of plebs don't understand at all. Specifically, most of his songs refer to the serpent seed, or which I have proof. This has been discussed a handful of times and that's it.

The entire Garage Days EP is worth a listen like this, original then Metallica cover, if you ask me. It's some of the most underappreciated Metallica in my opinion. Torn between Crash Course in Brain Surgery, and The Wait as my favorite.

Ive only seen some reactions from this channel. I think my last one was temple of the king by Rainbow. And she cried in all i saw. This is my first one she didn't, i was surprised. And i prefer the Misfits version, like both. But way to go going with Misfits version. Yeah metallica's was cleaner, and i thought you'd choose that one.

@Corey Bakers Entertainment Channel Sounds like you're in to a certain sound from Punk bands...not the entire Punk genre. Punk is about rebellion. It's about NOT being commercial. Did punk bands adopt the commercial sound to be more marketable to the masses? Yes. Did Record companies manufacture punk bands to get in on the money to be made? Yes. Is all punk "melodic". No. HELL NO. And punk started in the early 70's.

Punk is not a type of music or sound. It is a movement of rebellion. Cops used to call us types of people 'punks' all the time as a derogatory term and we said okay yeah we're punks what are you going to do about it? It's essentially a movement telling cops & their buddies to F O F F... Punk is as diverse as music itself is...

I feel like the Metallica version is a teensy bit clean/overproduced compared with the original, but I guess that's more a case of the Misfits not being at the same level of resources as Metallica would be at the time.

Metallica version for me, dont know if its the quality of the production but the misfits one just doesn't grab me or could be that annoying high pitched noise, in the metallica one its not nearly as piercing or annoying.
Its not a big deal but i am wondering, how old are you? Im just curious the age range for what version a certain age range prefers. Again, its just a scientific thing. Old heads like myself would prefer the Misfits version, im guessing. Please, take no offense. Im just curious.😘

Misfits is a Horror Punk band and they were amazing, today they still playing and touring but with different formation. Anyway they are incredibles! And Metallica is Tallica 🤘🏻

Well Metallica isn't trying to be punk though. They're being themselves...it's their version. So it's super subjective to say something is "better" really.

I agree. The vocals from Glenn are so much better than James' version. Not dissing James because he's a great singer. For some reason this song, I hate the way he sings it.
Note: I feel James has sung other misfits songs way better. Like Last Caress and Green Hell.
It belongs to Danzig and the Misfits, so although Metallica did do it justice, nothing will be better than the raw ass sounding original ever.

Last Caress/Green Hell is a much better Misfits cover by Metallica. That is much rawer than this particular metallica attempt at the Misfits.
Metallica's version is good but, and that's a BIG but, original Misfits versions will always surpass any covers!!! Maybe I'm biased idk, and idc. Lol

Most punk music is political, the misfits are more of a horror punk.
That's why Misfits is for literally everybody, who doesn't like a good scary movie? Political issues have a tendency to be polarizing.

Personally, I don’t like this tune. However, I do like watching HalfLifeSistah, she always enjoys the music whatever it is and is super gorgeous and sexy. Even though her reactions are sometimes ott I could watch her aaaaallll day😍.
Musically Metallica did a rather faithful cover; the difference is in the vocals… where the Misfits original obliterates the Metallica version.
