I just test drove both the F-Pace (25t Premium) and the GLC 300 this weekend. On the F-Pace there is a selector for the driving mode, in "normal" the suspension soaked up the bumps. Switching to "dynamic" mode not only drastically changed the throttle response but also stiffened the ride considerably. In the GLC when the driving mode was changed to from "comfort" to "sport" any changes it may do to the ride were not noticeable, but the throttle response was sportier.
Best exterior: F-Pace (sportyness) Best interior: GLC (comfort) Best technology: Q5 (practical) I agree with the vid; best all around is the Q5 I' get the F-Pace though
I test drove all the above models plus the BMW X3 but decided to chose the GLC over the others due the GLC’s equipment. I have the AMG line 250d premium plus model which has a pano roof, electric memory seats, upgraded sound system, larger info system. I don’t think I could revert back to manually adjusting my seat from now on and the pano roof let’s so much light. Drives decent and reasonably quick too. Very happy with my purchase.

GLC's rare looks pretty awesome, the Jag looks pretty new and fresh, and the Audi.. We have the old generation Q5 and personally I think it looks better than the new one.
After months of research I just pushed the button and picked the Audi Q5 against the likes of Jaguar, Mercedes, and BMW. My picked was similar to your as the best blend of driving experience, sporty ride, comfort, and everyday use. Thanks for posting such a great review!
@VinAr Run That's a lie, its as good or as bad as current glc, q5 and x3. I like that model, it always look special and exotic when you see it on the street.

@@madhur.kapoor no, volvo is still Swedish and no Jaguar remains British as both are still based and registered in their home country in Gothenburg, Sweden and Coventry, UK along with everything that the previous guy said, in fact Tata made Jaguar more British and freer as a company than ever as they are not involved in the engineering apart from requesting certain design elements and cars and doesnt use their partsbin to supply parts for Jaguar unlike Ford and BMW, its previous owners. The problem that plagues these German and European vehicles is the total unreliability in daily use, and tend to be a nightmare to own when the warranty is up. Where as the Japanese stuff, and in particular Toyota just seems to give great trouble free service for the entire life time.
I have drove the glc 300 for work and it's just amazing. The silence of the ride is sublime and comfort is unique in it's class. Don't get me wrong, i also love the audi. It would be a real deal breaker to chose between the two. I had enough time to learn the mercedes infotainment and yes, it is more complicated. The audi's mmi is just 100% intuitive. But the mercedes infotainment really has more options in its system, you can do anything with it. I personally love the new q5 design, it looks like a car made for the north and ski trips. So for a canadian, it's quite appealing. But the glc also has that look of: "i can do anything".
Haven driven a Q5 Prestige with MMI for the past four years, and now the new GLC for three months, have to disagree on the Mercedes infotainment. It is not as intuitive nor is it as functional as the Audi. Mercedes has really missed the mark here but otherwise love my GLC
Mat, great job on all your videos, just the perfect mix of humor and facts, love to watch. As a german I rather watch your reviews over any german competitor. Keep it up... Greetings from Germany Eike
To blind people, I tried all 3 in the vid plus BMW X3 And Volvo XC60 and the Audi won, the Jag came last, terrible car to drive, built for the less intelligent Brit
Just bought the wife a ‘19 f pace 25t and we absolutely love it. I’m a sports car guy and driving the f pace isn’t a big step down as far as “fun” factor.
I love my GLC. Just class all the way. Test drove the F-Pace; the interior is cheap looking. The Audi looks so boring. Didn't even bother looking at it.
Kira Kjear they always give you the cheapest F-Pace for a test drive. Entry f-pace is £38K and the top spec 3.0 top spec is £65k-£70k and that make a huge different.
Hahah didn’t even bother looking at it??is it because the price tag was too high and you couldn’t afford it ???Keep driving that ugly Glc cause it’s interior is just rubbish and looks cheap
+TheKAPAOPANGO the ugliest is only audi. From both interior and exterior... that car can only play rugby in snow... nothing else... i bet you must be looking in the mirror thats why you think its ugly.
Great comparison and the only one that is brave enough to speak the truth and criticised the Jag whereas every other UK review think it is the best thing since slice bread
And what if compare the F-Pace version that compets directly? You can also get air suspenssion, i think that matter can make a little bit difference, and who knows, it might change the results, don't you think? Great video Mat!
Yves Martens lol Volvo wouldn't even get close it's the most boring car ever, low quality interior, bad seats, bad technology it's just like a Japanese car
I've had my F-Pace just on 12 months now, and I still love driving it. The SC 3.0ltr is awesome, and the wicked exhaust note still excites. My all-black Prestige looks gorgeous, & turns heads - it's easy to feel good driving it. BUT......the old Jaguar bug-bear of quality remains a problem - it's been back to the dealer with several problems already.....not serious problems, but for this price it should be bug-free...(my X5 was!)A few things irk me - the pricing: I'm in Australia, and heated seats, keyless entry, a CD player, & blindspot assist are all options in the Prestige - not right at this level of motoring. The standard Infotainment system is last-decade technology - my 5 year old X5 was better. I wish I'd known how slow the processor is, and how the touch-screen would frustrate me bcos I'd have paid for the optional Touch Pro package. And what is with the rotary dial gear selector? In use it's slow to operate when flipping from D to R & back when parking, and too easy to inadvertently slip into P. Not a nice feature - I notice they ditched it on the E-Pace. And finally, there is a lack of storage space in the cabin for coins, phone, etc.....and no light in the glove-box - really? In 2016? I hope my review is helpful to a few potential buyers - it's a good car, and a treat to drive, but don't say I didn't warn you about the pricing, features, & quality.
Downunder wonder even though the 3.0 in almost top of the range, but the S is a better than V6 portfolio. I have mine upgraded to Navi Pro/dual screen, but it is still slow and crash a few times. Not the best infotainment system on the market for such a premium car.
I choose MB. The problem with Jag is the 100% plastic rear lift gate kills it for me (no steel frame, nothing, just 100% plastic gate). For Audi Q5 (the rest of the VW family), the hard plastic on back of the front row headrest kills it for me. It's like a suicide spot for rear passengers to have their heads smashed in a collision.
OMG saw one of those on the road the other and I thought 'what is that'?! It has an amazing road presence. Damned huge as well. The Volvo XC90 would be a good comparison, although smaller they both seem to have a similar vibe.
I know right, its road presence is second to none pretty much. The Volvo and the Mercedes are really in different leagues, the Daimler is more expensive and more refined, the Volvo is more like the Q7
I had it as a rental for ten days while in States two weeks ago. I drove the GLS450 4matic+. I can safely say that it's an amazing car. The sound of the engine, is just awesome. Very practical as well. I was able to carry all my luggage, a bike without taking out the wheel and two passengers without any problem. The system works pretty well, but I find that touch thing that hovers over the swivel wheel redundant. I could use the system flawlessly using only the wheel. Heck that touch pad sometimes triggered the appearance of the menu which was annoying. Whenever I felt like driving more aggressive I put it in sport and could easily overtake multiple cars and at lights, well, I was already several hundred meters ahead of the cars that were just taking off :D It was a real joy to drive. It's also fun to see the reaction of people.I drove it around in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington and people did turn their heads when they saw it, even in places where Ram 1500's are commonplace. It does take a lot of fuel, I got around 20-22 mpg on a mixed driving style and both on the interstate and in town.
True but the touchpad is most useful when inputting names into the system during driving, as you could just draw the letter with your finger without looking.
Ive an 3.0 fpace, brother has a GLC and father in law x5. All agree that the fpace is the best car. Turn the gearbox to s and change the mode to dynamic and the fpace becomes a snarling, spitting beast that accelerates and handles like a sports car . The fpace is a Very very accomplished motorcar 😁👍
Matt. I love you so much. I'm first who watch every your review. I own 2013 Audi Q5 and it really annoys me when you say that this new one is same looking as old. I saw it and must say that new one looks ten times more beautiful, that huge grill is amazing, headlights are also amazing, sexy side line.. and interior... I have nothing to say except .. they nailed it. Please be more realistic when it is about Audi's desing.
I have the q5 2018 and I have to say if your a owner of these s mode (sports mode) is fast I'm mean fast and such good technology with virtual cockpit and you can have manual with automatic with two options for manual
The channel should be called "audiwow".You don't need to watch the video to know that the audi is the winner, Audi A1 vs S650 maybach : Audi is definitively better.
It was a very tough decision for me to purchase an F pace or a Q5. I only chose the Q5 because it was German made. However, I still regret not getting the F pace because it looks so damn good but at the end of the day I am looking for Practicality and functionality and although the Q5 doesn’t look good to me versus these other two vehicles, I love the way it drives and I’m happy with my purchase.
Audi Q5 is the most sold Luxury SUV in the world for many years now...good luck competing with Elegance. they call it boring because they are classless people. Thw Q5 is most comfortable, is great for snow and off road.
But new Q5 has different awd sistem then old audi Q5. In new Q5 is awd sistem similar haldex sistem and is not always active but on old q5 was torsen. Just to let you know.
I know, the obsession with Torsen is weird. I just test drove the new Q5 on snow just a few weeks ago, Quattro Ultra is way better than Torsen or Haldex, people judge way too quickly based on ignorance.
Toyota and Lexus are the most reliable cars and the world(belong to the same company), Volkswagen and Audi(Belong to the same company) are more expensive, have Luxury and more sportiness. Volkswagen Group is number one in the world now, Toyota group is number 2 in the world. Of course they are better, why pay more when you get something that is better for less?
The Audi also has a cheap piece of plastic around the rear air vents... it's just smooth instead of having a textured finish. Mercedes also has metal buttons compared to the audi's plastic ones.
I am a bit disappointed as I was thinking of the Jaguar F-Pace, love the looks but if the wind noise is apparent then I have to pass, I do around 58 miles of highway and freeway driving daily, so quietness and comfort are important.
It´s certainly not a very inspiring exterior - it´s rather Conservative. The F-Pace wins for dynamic looks in this class, and the MB is also better shaped than the Audi. There was a time when Audi launched cars like the TT, the Q7 and those where cars with a lot of distinct character for exterior design and also not to forget the the A5 and A7 Coupe with much elegance - ooh and the R8. But somehow the exteriors of Audi has become a rather rigid affair, very controlled and in my eyes looks like too many perfect lines on the drawing board and too little passion in the actual conversion into real 3D shapes. I´m not a MB fan but I must say that they have done far more to evolve their DNA progressively than Audi - MB have had many more style studies including more crazy stuff, thus have allowed various of their studios to go quite different directions - this has paid off a long way for exterior expression. And one must also acknowledge Volvo for their re entry after near collapse. In fact the sad thing is that the Audi Design team does come up with very dynamic concepts, but they all seam to get weathered so much down in the process that nothing much is left when the car finally leaves the production line - and it´s weird since the Audi Interiors are so spot on and up to date, but the exteriors becomes more and more rigid - they even are getting close to being a bit goofy - The front on this Q5 is close to that - that extremely huge metal frame looks light it almost could let the car tip over - not particular elegant.
We test drive the Audi recently and it's very stiff, and there is minimal room in the back with the individual seat design. The Mercedes glc is much more comfortable and inviting and easier on the eye by a mile
Sufyan VERY STIFF? you must have had the S line suspension. I drove it with the regular suspension an adaptive dampers and its super comfy. Still ugly though. Merc for me
Id have the big cat. Those crates from mercedes are super useful for the supermarket. Load your stuff in em at the cash register and simply lift the crate in your car. No more plastic bags that rip when you leave the store so better for the environment

I completely disagree. The Audi looks way more like a normal car then a premium car. In my opinion, the Mercedes is by far the most premium looking car and is overall better. I think it should have won the test.
The only thing exciting about this Q5 is the colour. The F pace design is nice but already looks slightly outdated , like it's been around for 5 years. I actually don't like the backside of the Merc, it seems to much like a blob or a pair of wide hips. But still out of these three I'd have the Merc, but the new XC60 is absolutely gorgeous so very curious to see how that would compare.

The fpace is a Very very accomplished motorcar 😁👍
Matt. I love you so much. I'm first who watch every your review. I own 2013 Audi Q5 and it really annoys me when you say that this new one is same looking as old. I saw it and must say
that new one looks ten times more beautiful, that huge grill is amazing, headlights are also amazing, sexy side line.. and interior... I have nothing to say except .. they nailed it. Please be more realistic when it is about Audi's desing.
SpeedragTech audi have desinging? I dont see it.
@@TB-pu9qm he must be blind
My dad just got the glc, but coupe. I really recommend it:)
"It's a little GANGSTER innit??" 😭
I have the q5 2018 and I have to say if your a owner of these s mode (sports mode) is fast I'm mean fast and such good technology with virtual cockpit and you can have manual with automatic with two options for manual
The channel should be called "audiwow".You don't need to watch the video to know that the audi is the winner, Audi A1 vs S650 maybach : Audi is definitively better.
Vinícius Magnoni this comment made me crease a bit can’t lie😂😂😂🤣🤣
The thing about the GLC is that I would go for it due to the looks, and that AMG 43 is my pick
The Jag is brilliant tho
Sometimes good looks win over technology. It's the F Pace for me!
I love your videos man! I'm addicted.
YASSS AUDI ♥️♥️#audi
It was a very tough decision for me to purchase an F pace or a Q5. I only chose the Q5 because it was German made. However, I still regret not getting the F pace because it looks so damn good but at the end of the day I am looking for Practicality and functionality and although the Q5 doesn’t look good to me versus these other two vehicles, I love the way it drives and I’m happy with my purchase.
Merc is such a sexy beast. love it.
ewwww
Mark Stefanac GLC looks so gay. Lol imo
Mark Stefanac yeah no. I'd take the old GLK over the fugly GLC
Mark Stefanac Only GLC id ever want is the new GLC63S
It's easily the ugliest car in the vid
Best review channel on RUclips.
love the Q5 and I own one
Just love how Matt critique's everything
I'll wait for the XC60 or the new X3
Please make a review on the Mercedes Benz CLS class and the BMW 6 series..... loved this video tho :)
I just test drove the new Q5 on snow just a few weeks ago, Quattro Ultra is way better than Torsen or Haldex, people judge way too quickly based on ignorance.
and VW and Toyota sell more cars then BMW Merc Audi does that make it a better car???????????????
I own a q5 and i agree with you about the functionality. but this new design doesnt excite me one bit
I have a Q5 and I love it but I like the looks of the GLC
Get the SQ5 if you want the sportier version of the Q5. Of course it’s going to cost you more money, but I think it’s worth it.
I just cant stand the looks of the Audi. Probably one of the most boring looking cars from Germany.
For that reason only, i would never buy it.
With black trim and 20 inch wheels, it looks quite nice
Professor X Are you BMW fan?
SQ5 looks nice... (apart from the fake exhausts)
Nope, if you look at my picture, you can see my preferred brand
Professor X Ok. Same story. BMW and Mercedes fans will always say that Audi is boring.
I am a bit disappointed as I was thinking of the Jaguar F-Pace, love the looks but if the wind noise is apparent then I have to pass, I do around 58 miles of highway and freeway driving daily, so quietness and comfort are important.
the f pace in black mmm baaad
X3 is the 👑 in the category close with GLC & Q5.
The Audi looks so boring.
Mgoblagulkablong It looks like the most German cars - boring af but it makes it promised job perfect and you can't complain
so a typical German car
BMWs dont look boring at all tho. Same with the a3 ,a5 or a6.
Mgoblagulkablong yes it is
The Audi always looks "Boring" at the outside, but thats what I feel from the BMWs on the inside, it goes the way around
In fact the sad thing is that the Audi Design team does come up with very dynamic concepts, but they all seam to get weathered so much down in the process that nothing much is left when the car finally leaves the production line - and it´s weird since the Audi Interiors are so spot on and up to date, but the exteriors becomes more and more rigid - they even are getting close to being a bit goofy - The front on this Q5 is close to that - that extremely huge metal frame looks light it almost could let the car tip over - not particular elegant.
great video with good comments. I agree basically with everything you mentioned.
Merc for me
Biggest lie ever. I own a 2018 q5 s line with 20inch rims and it’s so comfy.stiff ???get the fuck out here. I am 1.90 tall and glc is much smaller car
come on Citroen, bring back Hydropneumatic suspension! best of both worlds in terms of comfort and cornering!
The bezels on the glc screen! Haha.
I’d love to see a comparison between the X3 and the F-Pace...
🖤 Jaguar F Pace🖤 all the way!!!
With the Volvo XC60, Range Rover Velar and Alfa Romeo Stelvio out, any chance to make an updated Mega head to head video..waiting :)
on just looks....the jag !
Id have the big cat. Those crates from mercedes are super useful for the supermarket. Load your stuff in em at the cash register and simply lift the crate in your car. No more plastic bags that rip when you leave the store so better for the environment
where is the volvo??
Not sure but I doubt that it will be any competition for the Audi Q5. Will probably get outdone just like the Q7 did to the XC90.

Was channel surfing yesterday bored ,then found a program called "Find me a classic" on InsightHd channel (sky) turned it on only to find Mat Watson finding people classic cars result :) seems was first aired in December 2016 but what ever was happy to find mat on tvThought id share in case other might be interested :)
I would go everyday for the audi. It looks so much more premium than the other cars.
daniel Nowadays audi look generic. Mercedes and BMW are destroying audi this generenation. Glad owner of an A4 B8.
Jrv200008 mercedes yes bmw no their interior is still looking the same since 2010
Jrv200008 Mercedes all look the same s class, e class, c class, a class they all are boring too
daniel are you 80 years old. The Audi looks like it is 10-15 years past it’s prime.
But still out of these three I'd have the Merc, but the new XC60 is absolutely gorgeous so very curious to see how that would compare.
it's hard to comprehend how one can pick the safe designed gender neutral audi over the over two cars.
Yet another brilliant review 👍
