One of the best and most detailed insights I've seen on a rally. There is so much subtlety involved that can make a difference to the outcome of a rally. This kind of analysis is helpful for zoning in and prioritizing what to work on. Your understanding and love of the game is much appreciated, Ahad.
Thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it. I love the game, and I love helping others, so am grateful that this platform is allowing that to happen :) It sounds like this format is popular. I'll be sure to make more of these moving forward, - Ahad
LOOOOOVE IT. This is just fantastic, candidate for my Best AR Performance video, Ahad. You're breaking down the top level game by slowing down pace and your comments into a medium us amateurs can appreciate. Did I say I love it ?
So kind of you to say. Thanks for continuing to watch and support! Really appreciate it. I hope that you and your family are keeping well :) Take care, - Ahad
Great analysis and I like how you showed the rally initially during your intro then showed again with your analysis and slo-mo and then a third time as you had your outro - i knew what to look for by this third time!
Thank you Paul! I'm glad you are extracting value from it. I'll keep them coming! I'm sure there are tons to break down in the recent semi finals and finals from the Paris PSA event! All the best, - Ahad
This is so useful to point out what has actually happened in the rally. I love the slow mo where you voiced over to explain each shot, the quality and impact on the rally. I've learnt so much from this and when I watched the rally again when you played it at the end I also started to understand some of the tactics a bit better!
Thank you for your kind words. It's very challenging to describe all of these details in real time. I believe that the squash tv team has a slightly different job than such detailed analyses - although I'll be sure to continue to create such analyses 🙏🏼 it seems that they are quite popular! All the best, - Ahad
Thank you, Ahad. This analysis meets your previous high standards admirably. You’ve no doubt noticed that the predominant reaction to the 2024 Paris Final was Ali Farag’s extremely uncharacteristic outburst of agonized frustration to Asal’s movement. What’s equally noticeable to so many amateurs is the unwillingness of professional squash players, coaches and elder statesman of the game (like Shabana, Power, Willstrop, Matthew, Rodney Martin, Nicol, Jahangir, White, and many others) to speak out on this subject.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the analysis. It seems like several folks would like to hear my perspective on the matter. I'll look to put something together in the next day or two 🙏🏼 all the best, - Ahad
@@ARProformance Hopefully whatever you come up doesn't just add fuel to the flames. With slow motion it is easy to "prove" that incidental contact = blocking or trailing leg = tripping. All players do that.
@@fhussain44 Agreed. All players do it at times. I believe that Asal's movement has improved a lot in recent times. It is however clear when a player is deliberately stepping into the line of another. I haven't watched the questionable matches properly just yet, so I can't comment, but I am looking forward to watching them for the squash, and observing other details as they arise. All the best, - Ahad
@@ARProformance If it is clear when a player is deliberately stepping into the line of another then why don't the ref, video ref. or commentators see it? To me, Asal's retrieving and shot-making are too good and force his opponents in bad positions. In these bad positions the only line to the ball is through Asal who is rightfully returning back to the T. It seems people expect Asal to just disappear when he puts his opponents out of position.
My pleasure. I'll keep them coming! In all honesty, I haven't watched it from start to finish in complete detail. I'm waiting until I have a solid 2h chunk of time before doing so! I did watch the final with Farag and Asal and am in the midst of creating a video about the end of the match! Stay tuned :) I'll be sure to create another detailed video from the Farag-Elias semi as well! All the best, - Ahad
Thank you. I'm always looking to improve my knowledge and approach. I'm grateful to be able to coach players from around the world given technological possibilities 🙏🏼 are you still playing actively? - Ahad
the main thing that stands out to me is that in almost every shot Asal plays, he does his absolute best to try and not clear in a way to facilitate his opponents movement! he has mastered the art of subtle movements in the opponents line, and plays that to perfection! I cannot stand Asal, and consider him literally the worst 'leg interferer' in the history of the game!!
I actually find that Asal's movement (on average) has become quite clean, and very comparable to the other players. I will review the recent controversy in a video in the near future 🙏🏼 all the best, - Ahad
Appreciate the feedback. I'll look to make an adjustment in the future 🙏🏼 I hope that you extracted lots of value despite the placement of the subtitles. All the best, - Ahad

Love this analysis Ahad. These insights into the subtleties of what goes on in high-level squash are just amazing.
Thank you so much Salman! Looking forward to seeing you on court soon :)

Very good analysis indeed and even though i watched the match live but I don't think i was able to read this much into it.... Thanks!
Fantastic to hear. Thank you. I hope that you continue watching and learning,

Can you please discuss Farag' unusual outburst at the end of the match? Was there unseen blocking movement by Asal or why was Farag so emotional?
Was overall frustrated. A mixture of no lets and losing again to asal
I'll look to create a video on that soon 👍🏼 lots to create after these recent matches! 😋 All the best,

poor placement of the subtitles IMO, gets in the way of the rally.

0:53 seconds in Farag made the wrong play. causing the rally to become ugly and more of an audience enjoyment. after all the early exchanges.
