Remember that Genesis Medley from about 8 years ago? There was a lot missing from that medley... Streets of Rage 2 is one of the first games that comes up. That was because I made that medley before the time when I started throwing in 'can't miss this game' song picks into first-time console medleys.
But fear not, Streets of Rage fans, I have your back with something better than a medley inclusion: a full remix.

Yuzo Kashiro is one of my favorite composers for video games. Every track that man touches is a jam and a half.
He’s a genius !
Except the remix of Now or Never! In smash ultimate. I love Koshiro’s work, but I dunno what he was trying to do with that track.

yooo Streets of Rage 2 has amazing music and is one of the best beat em' ups on the Genesis. Some of these tracks get real funky like Dreamer and then we shift to erratic high energy techno like in Expander. It's great to see you get into Streets of Rage covers because the music really lends itself to being iconic as a result of Koshiro's composition.
Another smash hit from an era of gaming I was just born a slight bit too late to really enjoy, but makes me bop out nonetheless! You really know how to make me excited for even the songs I don't know a thing about!

The best part is that this remix reached the ears of Yuzo Koshiro himself (Since Jonny tagged him on Twitter) and surprisingly, he loved the remix too :D
If you aren't bouncing up and down in your seat and getting up to move to the groove of this hotter than fire remix, you must have a single musical bone in your body. This is absolutely AMAZING! It's like that song in a fighting game that goes way harder than most of the other tracks and is so catchy, but ends up being the Character Select menu theme.

I dont think this dude realizes how damn good this is. Rock, Soul, and Funk combined and NAILS it.
I know some other cover artists have taken a crack at it (RichaadEB especially), but I’d love to hear you take an approach to the ost of Pizza Tower.
There’s the obvious candidates - “It’s Pizza Time!” “The Death That I Deservioli” and “Unexpectancy” all hit hard, but I’d also love to hear you tackle a track like Pizza Engineer or Tombstone Arizona.
