If you read the description, you'll see that the original composer for the Streets of Rage soundtrack composed the soundtrack for Project X Zone 2. That's why the soundtrack to the game has that Sega Genesis vibe.
1:00 What I love the most is how they didn't change a THING for this part. It's so perfectly Genesis and the original song, even they knew it was the BEST. I must have held on to this area for like 10 minutes just listening to this song on loop when it appeared.
streets of rage has earned a very special place in my heart, I really loved his style of play his characters his music is incredible everything apart from the fact that Axel is my favorite character God that man if it is powerful to play this is one of the best decisions I have made in my life
Well... for the first time in my life I've begin to play Project X Zone 2 a few weeks ago (I've never searched any info of this game in particular). I was playing normaly when I saw Axel appear and the classic Go Straight started to play...I was like... OH-MY-FRIGGING-GOD!! And didn't skipped any dialog for a few minutes just to keep listening to this master piece haha. Sry, I'm old.
I first got a dreamcast when I was 10 years old. I'm 25 now but Streets of Rage 2 (on the sega smash disc) is still one of my all time favorite games to play. Without fail it always gets the party started
These games are probably the most underrated rpgs I can think of, if you claim to love capcom, Sega and a ton of the rest of old school developers you should be demanding this game on switch and any new ones at that. The characters and love of their lore is second to none. If a console idea of this hit it should break the internet.
Lei Wulong: FLEEZE! Oh wait, aren't you the fugitive Cody from Metro City!? Axel: it's okay, Lei. He rectified his ways. Now he is the Mayor Cody Travers. Cody: yeah, yeah, past is gone, bla bla bla. What about we show these guys some punishment by fist? My security policy, of course.
Never gonna happen. KOF XIII's sprites were so labor-intensive it nearly killed SNKP. Even though Sega's certainly a bigger company, I'd doubt that they'd want to just smash their faces against that kind of wall either. If there EVER is a new SoR, I'd bet it'd be more akin to something like Double Dragon Neon.
It wasn't Labor Intensive as much as it was just fucking Dumb. TRACING OVER 3D Models SOUNDS Cool. Until you realized you paid for BOTH 3D Modelling AND 2D Sprite Work, Doubling game cost. GGXRD had the right idea with 3D Models and combining it with Animation Cels.
you know what would have been amazing having Cody and Axel as a pair both of them are essentially the same shit the only difference is that Cody actually went rogue
+ZelosWilder , oddly enough, Cody and Guy were in Project X Zone 1. However, with that being said, the Street Fighter and Final Fight universes actually coexist in the same realm.
+Ibuki Mioda , No, it was Cody and Guy that was in that game. Haggar is actually in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3/Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3...or was I thinking of Tekken x Street Fighter?
This song defines my childhood and why SOR 2 was the best sidescrolling game ever when I was younger and I got this for my birthday plugged in the cartridge yes old school 😂 and chose Axel this theme came on and I was woah this song is awesome and you knew shit was gonna go down for a fight. I love this remake of this legendary theme. I hope they can port someday streets of rage remake to consoles
+RafaelDB64 I remember AlphaOmegaSin talking in a video about how Sega should give Sonic a break and go back to some of their other franchises and he mentioned SOR in it. Sega has just as big of IP catalog as Nintendo and yet and they do nothing with their other franchises that have been on the shelf collecting dust for years. The only games Sega is putting out is Sonic and Phantasy Star. Sonic is their golden boy and they still put out shitty or mediocre games. I would love a new SOR, or a new Golden Axe which I think the character Gilius Thunderhead should have been in Project X Zone 2, but anyway Sega really should bring some of their great franchises that have been long forgotten to the modern era of gaming.
I remember playing SoR 2 on the Sega Genesis Collection and LOVING this song when I played the game. I just kept jamming to it. Looking forward to the sequel. I really should finish Project X Zone 1. I'm like 75 percent done with the game.
SoR made it into the top 10 most wanted SEGA comebacks. Considering the option wasn't available by default, I consider the initiative as successful. :)
I end up using Axel more then some pair units themselves...drain half the enemy HP bar and then let Axel do the rest...lots of combos and easy to critical...plus A rank damage= dead monster
If you read the description, you'll see that the original composer for the Streets of Rage soundtrack composed the soundtrack for Project X Zone 2. That's why the soundtrack to the game has that Sega Genesis vibe.
Wow, it almost feels like they had an excuse to go directly to the source XD
"Hey Yuzo, you feel like coming ba-"
"FUCK YES I DO"
That explains why I love the soundtrack
Indeed
Yuzo explicitly only composed the opening and ending songs. It's never actually said if eh composed the entire game himself.
This is so 90's
yuzo koshiro
An it's soo good.
oh hell yeah
Really? I would have guessed 1930's
1:00 What I love the most is how they didn't change a THING for this part. It's so perfectly Genesis and the original song, even they knew it was the BEST. I must have held on to this area for like 10 minutes just listening to this song on loop when it appeared.
Yo
but 0:00 feels so different i mean it could just be a remix with old sounds but aye its cool
Perfection doesn't need to be fucked with
@@erinluoma4977 It's the same musician who remixed it so that was definitely intentional
The best song in the entire saga.
Who could do Yuzo Koshiro music better than Yuzo Koshiro himself?
Nobody
Someone can. His name is Yuzo Koshiro.
@@user-ki2ys1dh1l that is very true but who can do it even better, THE KOSHIRO TRIO! All three of himself working together makes a great team
@@СолдатовАндрей-н3т WHOO BETTA THAN KANYON?!
The fact that they did 10000% respect and pulled Yuzo to do this rendition makes it all the better

+Jugdjay Santa claus!!!!!
I've listened to remixes of Go Straight on RUclips and SoRR and tons of other places for years and years. This is the only remix that nails it
+David Curry well, it's been arranged by Koshiro himself :D
David Curry Actually i think Axel and cody(FF) Version. Would be more fitting
I love the base
Even Go Straight II can't measure up and they coexisted. Lol
8 beats vgm is pretty good
1:14 gives that perfect timing of pure beats so the melody don't overdo all the music... amazing mix. just amazing.
Koshiro somehow improved perfection.
If Project x Zone 3 becomes a thing who'd wanna see Axel and Mike Haggar (the MANLIEST mayor to ever walk the earth) as a pair unit?
Little Mac as a Solo would totally complete the round-up.
Wouldn't it be more appropriate to be Axel and Cody? lol
Mike haggar would pair up with King or zangief I think....Axel would end up with Blaze for sure
Or they could take Bruno "Bruce Willis" Delinger from the first PXZ and pair him with Axel. Wait, no!
Blaze, pls
This song is too darn good, time to hit the streets, grand uppah

@@iceweb38 Now we have SOR 4. Epic.
Love this version, the vibes from the OG are there but the mix added some cool effects to make it modern, cool. Yuzo Koshiro it's the best ❤
Damn, this is actually the best version I've heard of this song.
couldn't agree more with you my friend
streets of rage 4 was just announced
Yep, something to be hyped about.
SO HYPE LET'S GO
YEEEEEEAH
Still no news, but boy am I still hype.

I modded this into Ultra Street Fighter IV as the Training Stage BGM and now it plays everytime i go training.

Guys… I think I’m in love with this song.
One of the best intro songs.
This seriously needs more fucking views. What a glorious remix!

This needs more views too.
+SavenForever You're here too holy shit you guys are alive!
Fun fact, the original composer for the Streets of Rage series is the composer for Project X Zone 2.
The best part about this remix is that it's just barely changed because it's already SO. GAWD DAMN. GOOD.
These games are probably the most underrated rpgs I can think of, if you claim to love capcom, Sega and a ton of the rest of old school developers you should be demanding this game on switch and any new ones at that. A master never fights, he can teach why no one messes with a master..not even masters. I love you, I'm cray cray in a fun wayyawa
I have huge nostalgia for the original, but I have to say... I think this might be better. Hats off to whoever made this
The composer for SOR composed the PXZ2 OST. So....either or, it's the same guy, Yuzo Kushiro.
Was hoping both Blaze and Axel would make it in as a pair but this is better then nothing. Love this remix!

WOAHHHHHHHHH yea this is a banger. Definitely my favorite "Go Straight" Remix yet.

Axel Stone for Smash
Why because he would have been the ultimate surprise character
Blaze Fielding for Smash 64.

Axel: it's okay, Lei. He rectified his ways. Now he is the Mayor Cody Travers.
Cody: yeah, yeah, past is gone, bla bla bla. What about we show these guys some punishment by fist? My security policy, of course.
I wish Sega didn't let the series die... I'm down for a Streets of Rage REBIRTH or another entry with KOF 13 sprite animation
