Eric Singer got his big break joining Black Sabbath in the mid 80's. He did two albums with them. He also played on Bill Ward's solo album in 1989.

You need to check Eric's drum sólo from farewell tour 2001 or Revenge tour on 1992 with Kiss. Also u need to heard and see the Eric's performances whit the Alice Cooper band . He's a real Monster on the drums

My all-time favorite drum solo, which I hope you'll check out, is in the Kansas studio track "Incomudro - Hymn To The Atman". Phil Ehart is just mind-blowing here. It's also a great, epic song, and his drumming also is fantastic at the end (the solo comes in the middle of this long prog-rock song).

I really love Eric's drumming. Also, the best years (musically) KISS had in my eyes were when Bruce Kulick was on lead guitar; with first Eric Carr and then Eric Singer on drums.
Now, I'll keep repeating this till it works: You need to react to the studio version of Dimmu Borgir's song "The Chosen Legacy". The drummer is called Hellhammer.
Also, please please please react to some drum solos by Mike Terrana, he's both funny and really, really good. I know a clip from an Axel Rudi Pell gig where he spent about 8 or 9 minutes entertaining the audience on his own - which you know is hard to do just drumming.

You're right about showmanship, theatrics. Sadly lacking and even maligned in many circles. But there's new bands doing it. Mainly Japanese, like Jiluka, and many small bands in Visual Kei.
There's a few in the West, Rammstein, Ghost and probably a fair few more. But it sets them apart, whether you like the music or not.
No point being stuffy! Life is short. Have fun I say 👌

Great way to have a mid-show break for a little guitar/drum solo. I really like Eric's playing. Definitely solid player, Kiss did a good job picking him. I thought he added some new energy to the band. As for "drum-solos" I've kinda always seen them as "wanking" on stage. Not a big fan of drums without music. I Like to get whatever "chops" I like to do within the song. Besides after seeing Neil Peart's drum solo, pretty much all others are not worthy :) Certainly not mine. lol.

Andrew, if you want to hear one of the best drummers playing today, you have to check out the Japanese all-girl metal band LoveBites and their drummer Haruna. She's a beast on drums. I'd recommend the song - Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020. If you don't have time to make a reaction video at least listen to them on your own time. You'll love them.
In the 70s KISS would have Rush as an opener on some tour stops. Good times. :)

KISS concerts are all exactly the same. They don't do anything new or different. Great music! But their shows have no difference from one tour to the next.
I have about zero familiarity with this drummer but apparently he's better than Peter Criss. I was a huge KISS fan back in the day with the original lineup, saw them several times. That's always been their forte, showmanship, not being great musicians or making truly great music. They wouldn't be the same without all the gimmicks and fireworks. That's not to say that it's not entertaining. And Gene Simmons tends to be a grade A asshole, LOL.
He's a good drummer but you can't rull peter criss whom I think is better. I've seen kiss 23 times. Nothing beats the original kiss
