Seeing all the bolts paint marked on the trans made me so happy. Glad you made a point of mentioning how toxic 2k clear is, too many people just recklessly spray it without any PPE.
I wish Andy was my next door neighbor. Better yet, my best friend! I mean Andy is like a "Master Mason-Jedi Master-Supreme Allied Commander-Big Papa"! To call him a mechanic is an insult!
When you guys were talking about the anomaly of the 250 HP and now only making 235 reminded me of a segment from Wangan Midnight where they said "For special cars to us, like Z, when a sudden power down occurs, everyone continuously repeats the trial and error cycle many, many times. But what has been lost never came back. The heart of the tuned car was lost."
If the session was essentially the same, the dyno reading is sort of irrelevant. They'd be able to go to another dyno and get a different reading due to calibration variance. The most important part is that the tune is solid in a controlled environment so that it can be tweaked from logs at the track.
@@lucaskelly4590 I just meant the door bars that he will rub on getting in the car, of course padding higher up where your head is , it’s probably even required in his class
I've never heard of a advance doing paint. Your civic is insane Ben! It'd be dope for a future video taking her for a rip in the mtns on the street! 🙌🤙✌️
Perfect timing for me to sit on the shitter and watch my favourite G&G car get some love. We need a 4th or 5th gen prelude on the channel, Honda for life.
I am totally amazed that you all can COMPLETELY disassemble AND reassemble a car! I mean, how the heck do you keep track of how everything fit back together and work!
I’ve had so many car friends in my 20+ years of owning Hondas that just know how to do it. I’ve rebuilt a B18C1 on my own and had to lay out all the bolts and parts like one of those exploded images, plus carefully follow the manual. The friends I have just have it down, and it’s never not impressive.
I did this with the engine bay of my old Miata years ago. Had spray cans made with the factory color and made sure to do proper prep, etc. Came out pretty good.
Best of luck in the upcoming season Ben, feels like we're part of it watching you make all these awesome videos along the way. My only complain is still that these videos aren't long enough :)
For a while i wondered why K series Heads were so tall without digging into it glad i saw now why in here its cams over a cams makes so much sense now man this build is soo good.
On a NA engine, real tuning happens when it has about 15k of daily driving with long highway trips. I've had 5 Japanese NA engine that I bought brand-new and driven to about 200k before retiring it. Peak power usually happens around 50k (miles). All my engines had real soul and performed better then expected. Key to my success, is that I never had to open-up the engine and did my own maintenance.
Dream car build !!!! You guys do such an amazing job, production of a network TV show. Glad to be able to witness all of the journey. You are going to kill it this year
I love the transformation y'all have gone through over the years. Y'all have improved in a lot of aspects from your cars to your video quality. As a long time fan I love the progress. I'm just wondering if you're ever going to touch the escort zx2 again?
Ben Thorne's turbo SVT FORD ESCORT ZX2 needs a comeback on this channel, and we need ZX2 G&G merch as well. I would instantly buy a ZX2 G&G shirt (with 98-02 ZX2 front end, of course!)
the 2 part poly, you need a better respirator than you were using, one with organic vapors filter. That stuff is bad, especially for I assume are scarred lungs.
I’m sure you have heard this but damn the quality of the videos is amazing! From music, transitions, angles everything is great to watch! Oh and the car is pretty nice
The engine and transmission are still tight. Most cars see a gain in hp after some driving. Also I didn't see any cleaning done to the injectors? Spray pattern may have changed and caused the loss in power. Also an exhaust leak, either at manifold or piping can cause a loss of power.
Sonic203 does some of the best K series builds on RUclips, check them out. 234hp is good and chances are the 250hp was reading high. Mustang Dyno is the true test.
Can I just say that in the final clip for next episode, tall Ben’s car control has improved so much since he first started ripping the Evolution around the track.
the episodes on these should be played not just on RUclips but also on TV & Netflix man like a series or car show on discovery Turbo or something cz The Production quality has always been top notch. On a side note: I'm wondering if the Resurfaced cylinder head had a part to play in the lower HP numbers (besides the conditions that day) as it would have raised compression a little and thus could have also made the engine more knock prone or limited hence less timing would be able to be applied... just theories though unless they also used a thicker head gasket from the OE manufacturer ? hmm.... variables

Andy's a beast, installing a head, flocking a dash, rewiring the harness, dyno tuning! Is there anything he can't do?? 💪
I wish Andy was my next door neighbor. Better yet, my best friend! I mean Andy is like a "Master Mason-Jedi Master-Supreme Allied Commander-Big Papa"! To call him a mechanic is an insult!
The only thing he can’t do is say no. Great set of skills.

Had the same idea. LOL
That is pretty depressing

I should really finish wangan midnight ahaha, I'm on like ep. 8 xD
The car also got lighter
At 14:13......I actually feel bad for Andy. Like he woke up Christmas morning to find no gifts under the tree. I think he needs a hug!
Wrap the areas of the cage you will come in contact with clear vinyl to protect it
Should actually pad them, not to protect it, but in case of an accident if you hit it. Sure you have a helmet but hitting steel isn't fun.

but weight
You guys have gotten so far. It's a whole racing series at this point. Bravo!
Your civic is a work of art at this point. Amazing build keep up the polished content! Best wishes from Australia.
On today's episode of "Never let Ben paint something you care about"
Lol I honestly really like how you just own it and spray your own way
he is pulling a "Land Lord Special"
Heck YES!! My Saturday is complete now…
That welded cage should improve chassis a lot
The musical score in this hits!! Every time I watch an episode I think of what Ben said about wanting to make this channel tell stories. It does.
PPF on the roll cage bars close to the door would be a great addition since it will help protect it and is super simple
I love the love. I love the good vibes. Thank you Andy, you are a good friend 👊

this is so well put together, such a joy to watch!
I am totally amazed that you all can COMPLETELY disassemble AND reassemble a car! I mean, how the heck do you keep track of how everything fit back together and work!
It gets easier after 3 years of taking the same car apart and putting it back together, but still impressive.
I’ve had so many car friends in my 20+ years of owning Hondas that just know how to do it. If Andy is the third host of gears and gasoline, then he must now change his name to Ben.
Tall Ben, Short Ben, and Master Ben. 😌
10" rims on a Civic, Ben you are a mad man! Pumped for the series!
I did this with the engine bay of my old Miata years ago. Had spray cans made with the factory color and made sure to do proper prep, etc. Came out pretty good.
ProTip™️ Put some Lamin-X protective film on your high wear cage spots. They have multiple clear options.

For sure love your civic build there’s not enough civic builds on RUclips they’re all ricd out and you guys just do such a clean job on your cars
Absolutely love the G&G vids so amazing and the best quality hands down. The little civic is a beast can’t wait to see what it can do on the track
Looks good, super cool that you guys are completely redoing it for the season. Im excited to see how well it will perform this upcoming season
I am so hyped that Ben Is back and healthy on the grind for the new season. Amazing build.
Glad your back Ben
You should put underglow on it. That always made me feel like I was going faster in Need For Speed Underground 2
If he needs to put weight back in it why not? But if he's already at the minimum i don't see it happening sadly
No lol
Ong
Definitely worth it, neons are sick
underglow would be a nicely spread out ballist if he needs to put weight back in 🤷
I look forward to this series every Saturday morning, even my old man who hates imports loves watching the visual candy of building each car
I hope one day my C4 corvette will have this type of funding 🤧
I've never been more invested in a youtube series until now with both ben's and their builds.
2:46 Well done, Andy 😂 I think Ben's got some stiff anti-suede bars
Its 9pm i was about to go to sleep because i have work at 3:30 am but i guess im staying up to watch this
My finger hurts just watching the spray paint
Tip for scratching door bars. Put some clear vinyl on the tops of them where you get in and out and it’ll protect it for the most part.
Dang guys, glad to see the progress, can't wait to follow along
The fresh gears in the drivetrain might be using up some HP onesies-twosies as the engine masters might say
Better than netflix. ❤️ love you guys!
CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE
Great ending to the build series. I hope 🤞 the car puts down some amazing numbers. (:
So love seeing the progress of both cars, good luck to both of you this season 🤘
I don't even have any personal interest in this area but I absolutely love short Ben's videos. Excited about everything coming up
Car is looking so great! Congrats on the build hope you kill it on the track 🔥
1:08 forbidden milk shake

your cinematic shots are always awesome, what camera and lens are you using?

the 2 part poly, you need a better respirator than you were using, one with organic vapors filter. That stuff is bad, especially for I assume are scarred lungs.
One of the cleanest civics I’ve ever laid eyes on
"I tried to per-suede him out of it"
Flock off with those lazy puns
Bruhhhhhhh!!!!! I really don’t know which magical Advanced auto parts he be going to!!!
I died a little inside when you dragged that new Titan7 wheel across the floor.
You can always put clear vinyl / PPF over the door bars to protect the paint
Amazing. What a great job you have done. Congrats.
I would love if there was an advance around me that did custom paint can fills. That is such a great service!
Man I was hoping to see yall at NCM last week, but cant wait to see these out on track again soon!
Andy seems so enthusiastic about whatever he's working on
9:37 a piece of PPF wrapped around the door bar would work perfectly
Beautifully shot as always
Dang, the ending gave me Lightning McQueen vibes of less power being normal 😂. The only thing that matters is being out the competition!
I believe that 235hp is very fun and competitive! ✌🏽🤘🏽 The numbers are the driver makes the car!!!
This is the best series on RUclips!

love this channel its so pro and chill at the same time !

I love the building transmission content. Just saw they had grease on the new gears...so i might do that next time.

grear great job for everyones in the process

Valvoline daily protection always get te job done!!!!
Should do a k20 head. Since the engine needs to stay oem within the class. K20 head would allow you to pick up power throughout most of the power band
