Someone asked Dolly once how long it took to do her hair. She laughed and said, “I don’t really know. I’m not there.” ( Most of the time she wore wigs or partial wigs. ) She’s so talented and hilarious. Love her.

Nashville is such an amazing place. I’m not even a huge country music fan. But I went there with a girlfriend a while back, she wasn’t huge into country music either, we both appreciate, but not totally our style. We had so much fun. On the main strip, clubs all over, nice restaurants too for the most part. And the music. All clubs had amazing music. And every other place was a bar with live music, it was amazing. One night I swear the guitarist was almost as good as Stevie Ray Vaughan Tennessee is a beautiful state too, I’d love to live there. But I’m a Jersey boy, I’d miss the shore.
Now this is the Country Music I grew up on, back in the 1970's! Dolly, Porter, Conway, Johnny, June, Glen, Kenny, Merle, and all the rest, along with weekly family viewing of the "Hee Haw Show", featuring Roy, Buck, Junior Samples and Miss Minnie Pearl! 🤣😍 Back when Country was Country, and singers could sing, play instruments and connect to their loyal audience. I miss those days of listening to County songs on tv, and in the car on long Sunday drives with my family. 🤗 Today's Country sucks... 😝

From crying when he calls your name

How you could easily take my man

But I could never love again
He's the only one for me

My happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do

I was only 19 years old and pregnant with my first child (a daughter) when this video was recorded from the Porter Wagoner Show. This is both timeless and priceless and Miss Dolly is one of a kind. There will never be anyone else like her.
I will always love Dolly above all others!!!
Lots of people are really talented, but only some are truly gifted. Dolly is a blessing.
She's an amazing person. The world is a better place with her in it.
Mayo de 2024 y esta cancion sigue siendo super bella👍😎
If only I could find a woman with that kind of love in her heart…
Still in love with young dolly like I was as a kid. She was my first love ❤😂
Dolly, you can SO kick Jolenes butt
Her raw vocals are incredible what an icon 🤭💗💗
Her lyrics are always genius -- not just in this song, but everything from "Smoky Mountain Memories" to "9 to 5" and so many more. She is a superbly talented songwriter -- among her many, many other gifts. Just a national treasure, as everyone else seems to say! Can't disagree.
Thanks so much for your pleasant remarks i appreciate and I went to say a big thank you for your love and support as my fan and which of my songs is your best ?
That's my sweetheart Dolly P...the Best voice❤❤❤❤

I was a kid but will never forget when my mother came home from work one evening. She had served Porter Wagner and Dolly Parton at the hotel restaurant they were staying at off the PA Turnpike. She said, they were both so very nice and gave her a nice tip.
She was an absolute knock out! Amazing personality and talent. She’s unbeatable
Those high notes are just absolute✨PERFECTION✨
Dolly is definitely an angel from heaven, her beauty, her incomparable voice, her stamina.. I hope she is happy . 💓❣️
I so remember the first time I heard this song in 1974. Gobsmacked and just haunting- then and now.
Hello.. hope you are fine and staying safe over there?
Has a anyone seen her without a wig? I love Dolly so much! She's so sweet and talented. I hate to imagine a world without her
There are some photos if you Google. She had a blonde hair, a bit thin
her real hair was dirty blonde and short
I heard her say that her and her mom were in town and dolly saw a girl and thought she was so pretty and her mom said that girl is trashy. So dolly wanted to be trashy too. And I agree that I don't want a world without her. She's so sweet and nice. I've never met her but I'm sure she wouldn't disappoint. That's America's sweetheart
I love Dolly Parton
My little granddaughter is named Jolene.........Im sure she will hear this song the rest of her life : )
This song always made me feel sad, before I was even 10 years old and now that I'm over 50. The feeling never changed.
Hello Linda
How are you doing today?
this is about life story my grandpa's first wife . He was completly stolen from her by my grandma - "Jolana". It was happen almost 60 years ago /circa 1967-1968/ in Czechoslovakia. I had goosebumps, when i heard this song for first time
Dolly is a legend❤
She sounds amazing
My grandma listens to Dolly Parton a lot
Hey how are you doing?
She’s beautiful 😍😍😍
22 Disliked this, This is real music from the Queen of Country and Western, Happy Birthday Dolly Parton 🎂🎶👑🎉😊🎈🎁🍰❤️🎧🎊
They should just take the dislike function off of songs like this. Best live version of one of the most beautiful and powerful songs, sung by the most beautiful woman and best female singer of country ever!!
If I was Dolly's man back then, this song would've never even been written. Dolly was perfect!!
@@MJIZZEL Yes I agree with that.
When she will depart from this Earth . The queen of country music will take away all the beauty of her own songs. Nobody could write and compose and preform like her. God knows that and He gives more time for the new generation
Wigs have improved since Dolly sang in this one! She looks beautiful and what a pretty outfit.....her one liners are so funny.
No ONE CAN COMPETE WIITH DOLLY voice so sweet I mean no one can SOUND like Dolly 🤠 Signature (💜)(💜)
She was 28 here. Always been a beauty!
her voice is so pretty. 70s songs are really good.
She’s sooooo amazing! Not just as an artist but more importantly, as a person!!!
"... and I cannot compete with you, Jolene."
Those words are like a dagger to the heart. 💔
Nov-23. She is rocking this, then & now. Legends stay bright & all others fade. I can't believe she rocked the halftime show at 77 years old.
Hello Lynn
How are you doing today?
she was a beautiful lady i never knew she was so pretty
Thanks so much for your pleasant remarks i appreciate and I went to say a big thank you for your love and support as my fan and which of my songs is your best ?
Damn I’m 20 and I usually dont care for this kinda music but this is a bop
Dolly does a duet of this with Miley Cyrus (her god daughter) that is really good! Look for it on YT.
This is a classic for a reason, regardless of whether it's what you normally go for
Some pieces transcend their genre; I think this and Tammy's SBYM are the ones for this genre (which I'm not a fan of on the whole). I'm not keen on opera either, but there are some pieces that are great (even sung ones).
I love Dolly, she reminds me of my mother, beautiful and ahead of her time
I was only 2 years old when this song came out! I am 51 years old now and loved it!
There is no one else like Dolly. Remember that.
this will be 50 years old in 2 years. wow
So underrated.
what is underrated about this 😭
@@alazjaw.8968right like ?? 😭
“Underrated”
Literally one of the most famous songs… you must be new here so we’ll let that slide.
Prettiest woman, beautiful inside and out 💞
Nobody can compare to you Dolly 😅 . 💚💕!
I love Dolly Parton ❤❤❤. . My sister named My Niece after you. She loves this song ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Hello how are you doing today?
She is breathtaking and such a nice person.
I used to watch this video everyday with my grandma while sitting on her lap when I was 5. I miss you gramma!
My first real memory of knowing who Dolly Parton was from the movie 9 to 5, and then Steel Magnolias. She’s an amazing actress and singer! Beautiful.
One night I swear the guitarist was almost as good as Stevie Ray Vaughan
Tennessee is a beautiful state too, I’d love to live there. But I’m a Jersey boy, I’d miss the shore.
Why not ? I love country music. It's the only real music.
In the middle of a concert, a man in the audience yelled, "I love you, Dolly!"
She replied, "I love you, too, but I told you to stay in the trunk."
Now this is the Country Music I grew up on, back in the 1970's!
Dolly, Porter, Conway, Johnny, June,
Glen, Kenny, Merle, and all the rest, along with weekly family viewing of the "Hee Haw Show", featuring Roy, Buck, Junior Samples and Miss Minnie Pearl! 🤣😍
Back when Country was Country, and singers could sing, play instruments and connect to their loyal audience.
I miss those days of listening to County songs on tv, and in the car on long Sunday drives with my family. 🤗
Today's Country sucks... 😝
What a beautiful woman is Dolly Parton :) so sweet, and her voice is so unique
What a dynamic song!!! The mere fact “Jolene” and “I will always love you” we’re both written in the same day?! Insane!!
