That is absolutely DARLING, she will adore it because her Nanny made it especially for her to use. She will probably have it her whole life and treasure it. Thanks for sharing it with us all....
How precious! I would have been thrilled to receive this as a 7 year old! Everything about it is charming; the colors, designs on the fabric, the little pockets, the tine scissors, the button colors and shapes, the dainty thimble, the tiny lace details, the yoyo, her name tag, the darling pin cushion, the sweet little charms and the fancy flower and ribbon closure. What a wonderful treasure for your granddaughter to cherish and learn to sew. What a loving Grandma to make such a thoughtful personalized gift. You both are so blessed.
Thank you for your very kind comment Debra! Thank you for noticing all the little features! I truly loved adding every detail for her. She has asked her Mom if she can do some stitching before school, which just thrills me. She also wanted to do some stitching when here the other day. I hope this love of sewing will stay with her as she grows up, as it did for me. 😊
So pretty! You did a wonderful job creating every single special element of this beautiful huswif for your grand-daughter! She will love it! I know I would love to receive this as a gift!!
Thank you so very much, Grace! I think she will love it too. I hope we can pass along the love of sewing to this new generation of little ones! Me too, I’d like one for myself also 🥰
This is so sweet. Such a beautiful treasure for Genna. The button pocket would have been my favourite part as a little girl! oh, and those sweet charms dangling off the front. 😊
What a beautiful and thoughtful gift for your little grand-daughter. I know she will treasure her huswif that has been made with so much love for her. I just love the fabrics you have used Becca. Oh, and hope 'Flat Stanley' enjoys his adventures with you 🙂
Thank you very much, Chrissie! I think she will too. I especially love these 1930’s reproduction fabrics. I’m so happy that I bought them when I did, years ago. I had no idea, at the time, they’d be used for my sweet little granddaughter! Flat Stanley has been into some mischief, for sure! 😊
Gemma, will treasure this for the rest of her life. You're a wonderful grandmother for making this for her. Have a blessed Easter and a wonderful egg hunt with the children. 💕
I want to be a child again only to receive this wonderful gift! I love it! Thanks,Becca and a blessed Easter to you and your family and a special kiss to Genna🌸
Thank you very much, Giusi! I thought the same thing. I would have loved one of these when I was a little girl! Have a happy and blessed Easter too, and I’ll share your message either Genna. ✝️🌷🌺
I would have loved one of these as a little girl Becca, although I did have a wicker basket that my mother had filled with pieces of fabric and oddments, threads, pins and needles... oh how I wish I still had that basket.... I hope Genna see's the love in which this Huswif is given to her and treasures it for all time... Thank you so much for sharing and have a Blessed Easter...
I would have loved one too when I was a little girl, Sas. The little basket from your mother sounds wonderful! I’m fortunate to have two little embroidery cloths my mother bought for me when I was 10. I’m amazed they survived the years. I think Genna will treasure her huswif and sense the love put into it. She has such a sweet little heart. You’re very welcome, and wishing you a blessed Easter too!🥰
You my Dear Are one Great,Sweet,Loving Grandma i know she will absolutely Love her Huswif and her heart will open with love for sewing and thats because she has a Fantastic Grandma. I love my 2 Grandchildren and they are in their 20s now and I am very proud of them.
How very sweet of you to say, Becky! I’m thrilled at her interest in sewing and hope to nurture that love. Isn’t it a blessing to have grandchildren; and even more so, that they make you proud of them! Blessings, Becca 🥰
That is so incredibly gorgeous!! I love the 30s reproduction fabrics. I haven't seen the green one with the kitties on it. I love kitties, too. I'll be searching for that one for sure!! Thank you for sharing!! Hugs ❤
Thank you very much! I love the 30’s reproduction fabrics too! The green fabric is the background for the kitty appliqué. I bought the appliqués at this shop on Etsy. www.etsy.com/shop/TPPEclectic I hope that helps. 🥰
Your projects are always wonderful x10. 😊 She will love it now and treasure it in the future. My son did the flat Stanley letter writing in elementary school also.
Thank you very much, Wendy! I think she will too. We have to help foster the love of sewing any way we can. What a fun idea Flat Stanley is. I’m having fun with it!
I think this is the best placement of elements I've seen. My oldest granddaughter is only 4 years old, but this is something I'd love to make for her when she's older. ❤ I'm sure you're little Genna is going to love her huswif!
Thank you so very much, Lois! That will be a wonderful treasure for your granddaughter 💕. It’s so nice to pass along the sewing arts to a new generation. I think she will too. 🥰
I'm thrilled that schools are still doing flat Stanley!! When my boys were young, we were supposed to mail him to someone else we knew, but they did not. We mailed the pictures to the child, while Stanley went on further adventures. This was repeated several times by a certain date & then he was returned with the last set of pictures and story. The map in the classroom ended up full of pushpins all over the world! TFS! Happy Easter!❤
I love hearing about this Peggy! I did something similar with our other granddaughter. We sent her little project to England to visit my friend. It made for such an interesting adventure for her! I think,it’s so nice that schools create such fun little project for our children! Wishing you a Happy and Blessed Easter 🥰✝️🌷
Becca, I forgot to comment on Flat Stanley 💙 I remember when the boys were introduced to Flat Stanley, way back when (grade 1) and Flat Stanley traveled all the way to Australia to go on a major adventure with the boys former Au Pair. What an adventure he had .......... so make sure you take Flat Stanley on the adventure of a life time for Genna. Enjoy and have fun with your new project. xoxo
Thank you Barbie! I’m so happy to hear about the boys had adventures with Flat Stanley! Flat Stanley will be going back just after Easter, so there’s not much time for big adventures. I did something like this with our other granddaughter, but had time to send hers off to England for my friend to add to the adventure. I’m afraid Stanley will have to find adventures right here in my area. Thanks…he’s been keeping me busy, getting into so much! 🤣 xo
This video brought joy to me! I can’t even imagine the life long joy and memories this will bring to your grand daughter. What size did it turn out to be?
Your hussif is so cute! I have an idea for the buttons that you might like: I tacked the buttons to an empty space on the inside. All you need to do is snip one thread to take it off. 😊
